Animal Kingdom- 8/10 Nice story, nice acting, Pope's a faggot. The main actor ain't that fantastic, Guy Pearce steals the show (as usual) [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] except for LA Confidential where the show was stolen by James Cromwell and Danny Devito [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] He better bloody well steal Iron Man 3 too
Saw animal kingdom in the cinemas, [sp]fucking jumped when J shot pope[/sp] guy pearce needs to be in films, he's just so good
guy pearce doesn't do nearly enough work
Skyfall, 8/10.
guy pearce doesn't do nearly enough work
seriously? he's such a movie whore this year he's in everything
Honestly, I rarely notice when Guy Pearce is in a movie until I check the IMDB page after watching.
then u are not worthy of viewing guy pearce [sp]obligatory mention that he and my mum were high school friends (and attended eachothers weddings)[/sp]
also Cloud Atlas - 8/10
ARHGHG i don't get this til February. Stupid dumb media companies.
I decided to read Cloud Atlas before watching the movie It's been a month, the movie's out of theaters for me, I'm 100 pages in out of 500 and I still don't know what's going on
Hulk with Edward Norton: 5/10 Decently directed, good actors, horrible script. It really shows in two minutes after his gf spots him in the restaurant where he switches from "omg she can't see me" to "hey lets kiss in the rain" within seconds, also the motivation of that villain is nowhere to be found.
i watched the movie and i dont know what its about either lol
tbh what's more important is what you got out of the experience than the story. saw Tree of Life for the second time, but in HD. Not Terrence Malick's best, but to me it felt like watching a symphony rather than a movie. People who like things like "Koyaanisqatsi" would like it a lot, speaking of which I need to see that in HD too.
The Departed - 8/10 Feels like early 20th century gangsters in the 21st century, very cool.
why wouldnt u just like leave
300 4/10 it sucked
The Butterfly Effect, it was on tv, 8 / 10
Primer 9/10 Still a really good movie, plan on buying it from the directors website later today. I'm getting tired of watching it on Youtube.
300 4/10 it sucked
Clearly not man enough to handle the testosterone and not-so-thinly-veiled-homoerotic undertones. 300 owns, in other words. Especially if you just watch it with your brain off, it's a nice shot of action.
"watch it with your brain off" if you have to do that to enjoy a movie the movie is shit there are plenty of testosterone filled manly action movies where you can keep you brain on and still enjoy it like predator
I got a better experience out of 300 by stopping 20 minutes in, going to youtube and just watching a compilation of the action scenes.
"watch it with your brain off" if you have to do that to enjoy a movie the movie is shit there are plenty of testosterone filled manly action movies where you can keep you brain on and still enjoy it like predator
Poor choice of wording then. Though, Predator doesn't really make you think either. Not that I'm saying that that makes it bad, I love Predator too. 300 is just a fun mindless action movie and a great graphic novel adaptation.
Kung Fu Panda 2 8/10
So me and my friends got stoned last night and we watched a movie. Me: "Dudes, we should watch 'Drive'." Friend: "Nah, I wanna watch this one." That's My Boy (2nd fucking viewing.)- 0/10
you cant watch drive while stoned, it cant be viewed in any other way and will just start making you think crazy shit. now, a movie like half baked, or scooby-doo on zombie island or TBL, those are movies to watch while you're high.
So me and my friends got stoned last night and we watched a movie. Me: "Dudes, we should watch 'Drive'." Friend: "Nah, I wanna watch this one." That's My Boy (2nd fucking viewing.)- 0/10
Drive would probably be pretty terrible stoned. All the long pauses which work well normally would feel like a million years.
Law Abiding Citizen It was a very good movie, the concept and idea behind it was quite genius. The legislation is being questioned and all the corrupt and "unfair" actions that happen. The whole plan was genius, very detailed and well planned. The acting was pretty great and so was the overall quality of the movie, it was a movie full of surprises and intense moments. Although the movie feels a bit unrealistic and I fail to see how a single man can be so successful with such a risky plan, it's a movie after all but still that bugged me quite a lot. The ending was bad to, it did not fit with Jame Fox character at all. Also the whole underground lab of Butler felt simply to exagerated, but that might be only me. Still a good movie.
Chungking Express I wont rate it, as I really need to watch it a second time to fully understand and appreciate it. While the story (or rather stories) is rather simple, some of the ideas and concepts went completely past me. If you know Kar Wai Wong, you'll know that there is so much underneath the simple surface, and I just didn't quite grasp that.
a great graphic novel adaptation.
I'll give it that, 300 is a perfect adaption of the graphic novel. Problem is the graphic novel sucks.

Groundhog Day (Bill Murray, 1993, etc.) - 7.9/10 Pretty damn good, the trailer doesn't do it justice at all. Makes it seem super cheesy. Love the humor, and it actually gets pretty dark through the middle. It gets into romance in the second half or so, but it's not over the top / campy.
the trailer doesn't do it justice at all.
Trailers overall do more bad than good.
Esp 70s-80s trailers heh.
