and they're kind of classics by now.
fuck this world
its like sucker punch becoming a classic
fuck this gay earth
no i really think it's almost on par with sucker punch
it just wasn't quite AS stupid
The Bourne Legacy - 5/10 - The Bourne Identity remade with Jeremy Renner, almost literally the exact same film without any of the originals personality. Lots of annoying cuts, editing made it a pain to understand what was going on, especially with the interspersed scenes from the Damon trilogy
Resident Evil Retribution - 3/10 - Awful terrible schlock that has nothing to do with the games. Everything that has been said about these movies has been said the last four times and I don't know why they keep getting made.
The Dark Knight Rises - 8/10 - Great film, not as good as it's predecessor TDK but still thoroughly enjoyable. I feel like the latter half of the film drags about 30 minutes longer than it has to but that's my only major complaint. I actually liked Bane a lot as a villain and the Talia reveal was neat.
No country for old men - 9/10
cormac mcCarthy is a genius ok
[editline]a[/editline]
ethan and joel cohen too
You told me and AK'z to go away with not liking TDKR as much, when obviously a lot of people do like it a lot.
Do the same now please and let people look forward to The Hobbit without saying how bad it will be or back up your opinion with examples.
no because TDKR is like a recent thing with a lot of people rating it still and he brings it up almost every time. this is the first time i've brought up my loathing of lotr and definitely not the first time it's rated. it just sparked a few replies to comments directed at me. i said the hobbit will be bad once dude nothin wrong with that
The Dark Knight Rises - 8.5/10
I actually liked this better than the Dark Knight for whatever reason, maybe it is just because it has been so long since I saw it. (Only once too)
Moonrise Kingdom 9/10
I am still angry that my movie theater didn't play this film, I loved this movie and I had no idea what it was going to be about.
Drive 9/10
With all of the people comparing Hotline Miami to this I thought it was going to be a really fast paced mindless action movie, and I was pleasantly surprised with what I got instead.
I can't believe I managed to watch three great movies in a row for once, my friends always drag me to see shit when I am at the theaters. Fucking Expendables 2, The Campaign, and Ted. At the very least I managed to drag them to see Looper, Dredd, and Argo. (I also made them see Premium Rush my bad)
We all know Prometheus is bad, but it will be a masterpiece after next 20 years
just like alien
We all know Prometheus is bad, but it will be a masterpiece after next 20 years

alien was never bad
and neither is poopmetheus
it just isn't very good

You either back up
boring plot, wooden acting, lifeless characters, poor and awkward dialogue, hamfisted and corny 'emotional' scenes, robotic fight scenes, an obnoxious running time and way too much walking. Oh also it has a very visually unappealing and bland style
with some examples, scenes, plot, or accept looking like a pretentious guy who says the movies are bad purely because other people like them and you don't.
Just say it.
And "too much walking" is probably the most redundant point of critique ever when talking about a story that revolves a whole fictional universe around 2 interwoven journeys by two relatively miniscule characters.
What's next? Too much talking in "The Sunset Limited" ?
Too much shooting in "Shoot 'Em Up" ?

are you kidding me? so the story itself can't be flawed? if something is boring, don't write a story about it. if a book is boring and just about walking, don't make a movie about it. things don't get a free pass because 'they were faithful to the source material!!'
if sucker punch were a graphic novel and the movie was exactly like it, guess what? they'd both be bad.
what? ok first of all the sunset limited was good
second of all shoot em up was not good and it had nothing to do with the amount of shooting. that would make more sense if i said lotr was bad because it was fantasy. it's not. it's just bad fantasy.
just because something is what it sets out to be, does not mean it is good.
if i ever have the intense misfortune of seeing lotr again, i'll give you some good examples!
but as far as i can see, i don't see many film reviews, especially not professional ones, that go in depth on a scene by scene basis outlining which exact lines and scenes suck. they are an overview of one's thoughts on the film, usually backed up by just making sense.
what do you expect from me, a plinkett review??
actually i was gonna do a thing like that for sucker punch. but surely you people have realised by now i don't just make shit up?

Wow. You didn't get my post, or Lord Of The Rings, at all.
except i did? you are not talking sense
[editline]3rd December 2012[/editline]
you were implying i thought lotr was bad because it had too much of the thing it completely revolved around. like that the walking was the whole point of the movie and with less walking it would defeat the point of the movie, like if i thought there was too much action in an action movie
which makes no fucking sense because the whole thing is about balance. you CAN'T have too much of one thing or it becomes very boring, even if it's the whole idea of the movie. aka exactly what i'm talking about.
god bless america was about ranting. and it had way too much ranting, which really hurt the film a lot.
lord of the rings is about an epic journey to a volcano. but it has too much walking, and that hurts the film. but that's not even the main reason i dislike it.
except i did? you are not talking sense
You didn't even read the books. There is really no ground at all for you to like this.
what? ok first of all the sunset limited was good
second of all shoot em up was not good and it had nothing to do with the amount of shooting. that would make more sense if i said lotr was bad because it was fantasy. it's not. it's just bad fantasy.
I'll point it out directly instead of
What's next? Too much talking in "The Sunset Limited" ?
Too much shooting in "Shoot 'Em Up" ?
to make sure you get it( I know you believe you did but bear with me here, take your time)
The point, the point, was that criticising a story(since you insist to equal the movie with the books I'll just go with that) about a journey, a journey that is the MAJOR (and the best) tool of discovering the world Tolkien created, for the WALKING(hint: they ride too) is LIKE (that is a comparison right here) criticising "Shoot 'Em Up" for the Shooting ( "Shoot" in the title and the movie, I hope you get it) or "The Sunset Limited"( a movie where two people having a talk is the major cinematic tool for presenting philosophical ideas) for the talking.
Note how there are NO remarks about the quality in terms of good or bad in that. Something you somehow felt the need to counter with
what? ok first of all the sunset limited was good
second of all shoot em up was not good and it had nothing to do with the amount of shooting.
Take your time this time. Read twice please.
you are so patronizing. i completely understood you i hope you realise. you are just wrong, as i said in my post above yours
Oh I see you edited. Good.
i understood it in the first place do you think i am retarded to not understand your very simple point
i very clearly countered it in the first place but you do not seem to realise

"It's as if you said there's too much shooting in Shoot Em Up!! What a deep and complex simile"
[editline]3rd December 2012[/editline]
LOTR fuckin blows chunks dude. Yeah it's a fantasy, and the plot heavily revolves around a journey, and as such, walking and exploring the world. But it's a boring fantasy, with a dready and lifeless world where it is not fun to watch dudes walk (and act poorly).
The LOTR trilogy was boring as shit.

You still didn't get it.
The walking is not the point at all. It's the tool to discover the world. The viewer can't do the journey by himself so the characters do it. If you think that,
you CAN'T have too much of one thing or it becomes very boring
applies to it, again, you didn't get it. You just concentrated on the wrong things while watching it.
Go see it again and this time just enjoy the journey. Or don't.
I am looking forward to The Hobbit. You don't. Ok.
The LOTR trilogy was boring as shit.
The fellow ship of the ring was boring as fuck, but the other two where amazing. The return of the king is the best film from the trilogy.
i didnt like lotr trilogy, but im hoping the hobbit will be way better

So you moan when someone else thinks End of Watch is better than TDKR and then you blame me for bringing it up?
why do you people never give any examples...
You could pretty much take any Western from the 60s/70s and there would would be a good chance there would be a scene that's dragged out for too long
