Ghostbusters - 9/10
Such a great fucking movie. The humour is just perfect, and the characters + the writing and performance just makes this film.
"Why does Lars Von Trier never get nominated?"
because he makes bad pretentious movies?
'chaos reiiiggnns' gimme a break dude
His film Antichrist pretty much tell that women are evil too, it's above me why he's so well received at Cannes and other festivals.

dunno much about Antichrist because I haven't seen it in a while, but Breaking the Waves and Dancer in the Dark are stunning films.
Fargo - 8.5/10
Overall I quite enjoyed it but there were a few unnecessary scenes and some loose ends. Also I found the accents were a bit overdone. The acting was top notch though.
Solaris (1972) 8.5/10
That ending.
City of God
9.5 / 10
Very enjoyable
Saw RE: Retribution. -10/10
I swear the director just got all of the characters just for to have them in his film and the actors are unbelievable, i bet the guys who acted as Leon and Barry were in just for the money.
You don't want to know the plot.
You really don't.
I read that as 10/10 first and got confused
Following by Christopher Nolan, 10/10
Excellent piece of Neo-Noir. He took a simple concept and wove this entire story around it.
Perks of Being a Wallflower - 6/10
a 8.5 on imdb for this? what have we become

i just discovered that [sp]Charlie was sexually molested every week by his aunt which caused a traumatic childhood[/sp] which at absolutely NO POINT in the movie gets told
lmao it definitely gets told it's implied heavily throughout the whole film are you a retard
[sp]its told like through flashbacks, Charlie's blackouts and forgetting parts of his childhood (repressed memories), when Sam admits that her first kiss was when her dad's boss took advantage of her, and Charlie said that his aunt went through that throughout her childhood- that was his way of telling Sam what happened to him without having to actually say it[/sp] there's more as well I think [sp]they just can't straight up say it because it's a 12A film[/sp]
also it's definitely stronger than a 6. I gave it an 8 because it was fucking great and one of the best films of the year and one of the best coming of age films of all time.

[sp]ok i forgot that part but still.. what? its so absolutely vague like its some big unbelievable deal. even people who read the book say that it was written vague and they neither really knew what his aunt did to him precisely.
and even so, its not a special story on its own at all. i mean really the only abnormal things that has happened to him was the sexual abuse and the blackouts he has. other than that its a ordinary story of a ordinary kid living a ordinary live
why are you mad[/sp]
[sp]uh doesnt his best friend kill himself[/sp]
yes but whats that supposed to change
[sp]they're all huge factors in the way Charlie developed and grew up. He's very isolated and alone, even around people, and can't open up or share his feelings etc because he's hollow and the two people he trusted the most left him hurt and alone damaging his relationships with everyone, that includes people he doesn't know.[/sp]
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
[sp]they're two of the big things that shape Charlie's character as they were big influences on his emotional growth and development[/sp]
its not a hard concept to grasp. shit that happens in your life affects who you grow up to be.
Life of Pi, 7/10
Very nicely done, and it looks incredible in 3D. It was a pretty fascinating film, but since there was so much religion involved I got a bit bored..Don't mean to sound arrogant, but I'm not just into those movies where there is lots of religion-based things involved with the plot.
Still, a good movie. I'm sure my mom would like it, but I'd rather not see it again :v:
Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (took me long enough to see this): 9/10
Seriously adored it, and was very impressed with Rooney Mara's performance. Especially after seeing her in the horrible Nightmare On Elm Street remake, which she did pretty badly in.
I 'unno. I like the original Scandinavian version more. Maybe it's because it's an actual movie that doesn't care if your fluffy feelings are hurt. I generally tend to like the Scandinavian originals of all the movies Hollywood remakes for you guys. More rough and raw.

And a bit more dark:
I've not seen the American remake but the original trilogy is fucking great as are the books and I doubt a Hollywood remake could do justice
i feel it probably won't be as dark as originally intended
Lawless
8/10
very impressive film. After watchign Dark Knight Rises earlier this year, and then this I went out in search of other Tom Hardy films.
I sadly still need to see the original trilogy. I think I'd really like it though.
the extended editions of dragon tattoo are on netflix, it's about 9 hours in total
Resident Evil: Retribution - 2/10
Bad CGI, Lousy acting, worse story and the worst thing.. Looks like there will be (yet another) movie. How i wish we could just get a proper reboot of the Resident Evil move franchise. Either that or just let it be!

I don't think childrape or Burning your fathers face off with Gasoline would be allowed. It's just not American.

Awesome. I might spend my next free weekend watching them all.
I also really want to read the books, since I have them all on my kindle. I just need to get the time.
Catfish 8/10
Road to Perdition
9.5/10
This movie was such a phenomenal piece of art. This movie made quite an impression on me, it's just beautiful and suspensful. The plot was not novelly but portrayed in a fantastic manner. The acting was incredible, every actor did a great job. The characters were believable and memorable, especially the hired killer. The cast was purely amazing.
The camerawork was so well done and every scene blent so well together, the part where Micheal discovered what his father's profession is and some of the camera close-ups. The whole movie was accentuated by a great soundtrack, it fit and captured the whole theme.
The plot was fairly well told, it had some unexpected twists at first. The story about Mike and his son was well written and it was emotionally touching. The plan of Mike was quite genius and unique. Although it got predictable at the end, I got suspicious due to the constant success of Mikes plans. It had to end badly, there were also some cliches but they were done so well that it did not matter to me at all.
Something about the ending
[sp]Once Mike went into the house, I knew that there would be a surprise, it was to obvious. Still I completely forgot the hired killer. The last scene where his son was unable to kill him was a great gesture. I thought that he would kill him and become what his father didn't intend for him. Also it blent so well to the start of the movie.[/sp]
I highly recommend this movie, it's amazing, even if it has some cliches. I also read a lot that Tom Hanks would not fit the role, I heavily disagree. He played Mike Sullivan like a boss.
Sinister
8/10
Man I cannot remember the last time a thriller gave me shivers like this one did. Now the story has some cutbacks I'll admit, but the actual atmosphere in the movie makes up for that tenfold. I was pleasantly surprised when the movie wasn't filled with a insane amount of jumpscares.
Watching the videos of the murders creeped the living shit out of me, kudos to the sound department in this movie because they really nailed it.
I don't think childrape or Burning your fathers face off with Gasoline would be allowed. It's just not American.
