Gran Torino 9/10 (almost 10)
Finally got to see it. Amazing movie, I understand why so many people liked it.
Honestly, I never liked the movie that much. I thought that it was terribly overrated, the story was quite bad and cliche, it was simply not that engaging to me. The acting was fairly mediocre except for Clint who did an excellent job. I think I missed the point in this movie, the whole scenario felt dull to me.
Brazil (1985) 9/10
Awesome setting, music and humor.
The Hobbit - 10/10
fucking awesome
Léon: The Professional - 9/10
Just watched the Fifth Element for the first time, and, well...
11/10 may be one of my favourite films ever. Holy shit I love it.
Good Will hunting. Easily a 10/10. A very inspirational movie for me. Robin Williams is probably my favorite entertainer. Strike that, he is definitely my favorite entertainer. an amazing stand up comedian and a great dramatic actor when given the chance.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - 8.5/10...
Awesome, the critics are out of their god damned minds.
Slow? Fuck no.
Those 2 1/2 hours felt like an hour.
The CG was fantastic, loved the dwarves, loved the scenery, loved the music.
Only things I can really fault it for are the action sequences which honestly moved a bit too fast and I never really felt like the group was ever in danger.
Skyfall - 9/10
Great movie; plenty of Bond-style action. Infinitely better than quantum of solace and casino royale.
The only detrement was the new Q being a dildo and not giving bond cool gadgets.
Iron Sky: 3/10
Just go check out the thread I bumped to see why I don't like it so much.

Visually the movie is great, especially the visual effects, I think I laughed twice during the whole movie.
I read your post in the Iron Sky thread and you're right, it really feels like a SyFy Original Movie.

Oh don't get me wrong I love the digital art in this.
[sub]Too bad it kinda took a back seat to the satire.[/sub]

I thought the movie was visually appalling not to mention didn't even make me crack a smile. Just a horrendous, horrendous film, in every aspect.

I'm half and half on the Visuals. I like the stuff that looks awesome like the giant Nazi Spacebattleship, the saucers, and the Space Zeppelins. Those are neat.
The stuff like the explosions, and some of the other visual stuff, I can agree with you there. Like the scene where Klaus lands in a field of weed. That background just didn't look right to me.
it looked like a freddie wong production
Moonrise Kingdom
9/10
Very well made, aesthetically beautiful, and interesting. Captures childhood joy quite well, and we see a whole new side to Bruce Willis.

Those explosions defiantly. I still stand my ground that the Space Zeppelins were cool though.

Read 'appealing' for a second.
Kill Bill part 1 7/10
Got to take that result with a pinch of salt as I was distracted dealing with a cold and that I will probably enjoy it a lot more the second time round if Pulp Fiction is anything to go by.
Talented Mr. Ripley(is that the english name?)
8/10 liked it a lot. The pacing is a bit off during the middle part but all in all great cast, great movie. Always worth a watch.
The Hobbit I: Well 9/10 one of the best movies this year, stunning visuals and the additional time is worth it.Some scenes I will always remember for the visuals, the last point is only missing becaus it can't give me something to think about, something that changes the way I think about the world but a movie-fied book can only do oh so much so maybe I should make it a 10/10. I enjoyed it a lot.
Also I like the subtle use of 3d, unlike in other movies the 3D is ... well .. there, but not for the sake of it.When stuff flies in your face and you flinch back it doesn't gel intended but rather just happening and so you don't think about it that much but the effect is there and well done.
Oh and go see in 48fps. It felt a bit weird at first and I had problems when stuff was moving fast and very close to the cam but every other scene only pofits.
I watched The Wild Bunch, it's a fucking awesome movie. It feels quite a bit ahead of its time for 1969, it's actually quite similar to a lot of modern action movies - the main characters are all pretty much real bastards (badass and cool bastards, but still bastards), there's a shitload of people getting shot with quite a bit of blood going around (at least for that time), lots of random bystanders and women getting shot and the way the action is all directed feels quite modern too, it's pretty chaotic, lots of different angles, good use of slow-motion. And it's a western, it's set in 1913 but it's still a western. I'd HIGHLY recommend it if you like westerns or even just action movies. I'd give it like a 9.5/10, but it's only not a 10 because some of the non-action scenes felt a bit dragged out, though a lot of movies back then were like that.
Reservoir Dogs - 8/10
well it was weird to see Men In Black 3 after watching No Country For Old Men.
Midway into MIB, I realised both Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin were in both films. :v:
Decent flick, worth watching.
looper - 6.5/10
i have no idea why i cant like this way more than i do, its an okay movie - superior to inception
the story is pretty good but i just couldnt get completely into it, i did really like the way they handled the violence in this though
and mmm jgl speaking french yes please
honestly i dont know whats putting me down from fully enjoying this, i did feel the slow pacing to be perfect and everything
maybe i was just on some weird idea that there was gonna be more to the story
not seen someone down about this yet, i'll have to see it for myself.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
9.9/10
Sweet motherfucking Christ, this movie was ASTOUNDING! The effects were great, the New Zealand landscape was beautiful, and the storyline was amazing. My only complaint was that it deviates from the book a wee to much, but what it does follow, it follows perfectly. Ian Mckellen's performance as Gandalf is great, and all thirteen dwarves are bloody fantastic. Also gotta love the opening scene with Elijah Woods making a short return as Frodo.

Just forget about how brilliant Andy Serkis was then.

6,5 and it's superior to inception?
the hobbit:
8/10
I found it a lot better than The Lord of the Rings movies. mainly because the pacing didnt feel like a goddamn crawl. also, I gave more of a shit about the major characters.
I don't like how literally every jam they got in was solved by deus ex machina. felt really cheap and silly after like the third time it happened.
seeing the high frame rate version Tuesday, if Peter Jackson is so confident about it I'll have to give him a chance. I'm thoroughly prepared to be disappointed though.
[editline]16th December 2012[/editline]
maybe it's because this is more focused on the major character and his personal quest than the lotr, which kind of jumped between character group to character group
Beverly Hills Cop 6.8/10
If Eddie Murphy wasn't in this, it would be a mediocre (at best) comedy-investigation flick. It's quite funny at times, but often it drags and especially the ending is really slow and anti-climactic. The plot is incredibly predictable and really generic, [sp]just some random drug smuggling[/sp]. If you like Eddie Murphy you will most likely enjoy it quite a bit, but if you don't you can avoid it entirely.

This gets me psyched for the me, what is it all about the high frames?
