caddyshack 10/10 was funny as fuck
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Swedish Version) 4/5 I did get a little bit lost with some of the characters (as to who was who) but it cleared up in the final quarter of the movie. I really liked the way it ended. Psycho 5/5 I made the tragic mistake of watching the remake first not really knowing what it was before watching Alfred Hitchcock's original. Almost everything in the original just felt that much more superior and tense. For an old movie that so wonderfully defined and executed 'the twist' its still incredibly intriguing to watch. The Hobbit 4.5/5 Fastest 3 hours I've ever watched. I was entertained. My only gripe was at times the movement and general motion did feel very...wonky. But other than that I thought it was fantastic. Also the amount of drug references the film made with Radgast The Brown ohlawd...
The Chosen Samurai 3.4/5 One of the most glorious films I have seen this year for certain. I really enjoyed the many visuals which the movie offered on the silver screen. The actors also did a great job portraying the samurais struggle for independence. However it was a bit of a mediocre experience on the effects and costume parts.
Golly, can anyone say edge enhancement and DNR? That is a very bad showcase of Blu-ray
of course, but I wanted to show some scenes I thought were very beautiful shots. I've never actually seen a decent copy of Blu-Ray :)
Jumper Easily a 8/10 or maybe higher it is so interesting and lots of action I like the underdog story how he is like the loser but then he's super power guy and gets handsome and gets the girl in the end. It's perfect story.
of course, but I wanted to show some scenes I thought were very beautiful shots. I've never actually seen a decent copy of Blu-Ray :)
youve never seen a decent looking blu-ray? go pick up fight club or aliens or se7en or any recent movie really
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) 7/10 Easily one of the better remakes out there. Hard to believe that the same company ended up making Nightmare on Elm Street...
Van Helsing- 6/10 It was interesting for what it was, but man, I remember it being better. The creature effects are really, really dated here. Looks more like mid-90s CGI than mid-00s CGI. It was really distracting. Plus, the mythology of a lot of the monsters was fucked with just to have the story make sense. Some of the changes were good, some were bad, but overall, I didn't HATE this movie. I wouldn't go so far as to really suggest it, but if you're in the mood for a mindless monster movie, check it out sometime.
Van Helsing gets -3 points for bad dialogues and the ending [sp]sunset[/sp] scene alone.
I've never actually seen a decent copy of Blu-Ray :)
apocalypse now is truly worth seeing in HD, i reckon i won't see it again in standard definition. [editline]3rd January 2013[/editline] french connection is the worst transfer though.. by miles
youve never seen a decent looking blu-ray? go pick up fight club or aliens or se7en or any recent movie really
Se7en's bluray quality is fucking incredible, I watched it a few years ago and I had a hard time believing that it's really a movie from 1995
you should check out the remastered version of Total Recall
you should check out the remastered version of Total Recall
they reissued it, looks a bit better: however the original blu-ray [thumb]http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o202/akayz_people/4upben.png[/thumb] what the fuck
my point was the remaster is fantastic. also those images are terrible examples neither of them are even 1080p nor do they showcase good or bad quality respectively i fuckin hate it when people take bad screenshots gosh DARNIT
photobucket is crap not me [editline]3rd January 2013[/editline] uploaded 1920 came out 907..
Somebody please tell me what's the problem with blu-ray, I am totally uneducated with it. Why do certain movies look so bad? If they are analogue anyway, quality shouldn't be a problem theoretically.
because they don't always make the blu-ray transfer from the original print if it's an old movie, they just use the previous one they made for dvd, which obviously is always going to look bad in hd
I remember even certain DVD's had particularly bad transfers that had to have a re-release. 'Armageddon' and 'The Rock' come to mind.
Super Mario Bros. movie, 1993 11/10 would fap to again

Dredd 2012 7/10 I liked it, it felt really like Robocop, only without robo and with a really hot sidekick
a really hot sidekick
who was an actually good character who wasn't useless holy fuck! !
the fact that she wasn't a shitty romance object used to pad out the script made me so happy That film had so much fucking balls, especially for being a comic book film. Does Judge Dredd perfect justice. Hope enough money's made back in DVD/Blu-ray sales to warrant a sequel.
who was an actually good character who wasn't useless holy fuck! !
indeed she was
the Dark Judges got me interested alot after reading about it on wiki really hope for a sequel
i just finished watching dredd myself asskickingbitchfaces/10 is doing that type of rating still cool?
Life of Pi - 7/10 I liked it. It was good.
super 8 - 8.7/10 Really enjoyable film, great themes, and an incredible score. Also I've just watched season 1 and 2 of suits but theres no thread for it, or tv shows. Anyone else watch it? Really enjoying it, although the writers choices relating to the love interests annoy me a little.
Boy A is a pretty good film. I'm surprised I've only seen it this late. I hate it when good movies are hard to find, but at least it makes me think i wont run out of films to watch too soon... I need some help, theres this comedy film about 2 junkie friends one beying a big guy, mute, and the other a tall skinny guy with long hair, the plot is someone at hollywood wants to make a movie about them and they want to stop it.
