mate of mine said he loved it when he saw it in the theatre. :-( is it one of those "too weird" movies or just "awful script" kind of extravaganza? [editline]4th January 2013[/editline]
Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times said, "There is not a trace of human emotion in it. To call the characters cardboard is to insult a useful packing material".
wow, it can't be some kind of Noir version of Freddy Got Fingered can it? :O
Also I watch all of RLM's stuff. Thanks for calling me a vegetable.
thanks for being one
why did they send completely untrained randoms on such an important space journey? why were half of them not even briefed before until they had already signed up? if so far all signs point to the engineers wanting to murder all humans, why did noomi rapace want to go to their home planet for answers? it seems kind of like suicide. if this is not the same planet as lv426, then how did the alien get to lv426? did it jump there? if that's not the same species of alien, if it didn't evolve into the xeno's we know, did an almost identical series of events happen on lv426? why is there an almost identically crashed ship on lv426? why did the engineers tell old civilisations about the location of the planet with a star map, if the planet is just a weapons research base? if weyland was so afraid of dying, why did he walk right up to the huge alien? shouldn't he just have sent people to find out what it knows and stayed about the ship, just in case it was hostile? why did charlize theron have a male only medical thing in her quarters? was it for her father? if so, why was it there? she had control over what was in her own room. and it seems like she doesn't care about her own father's survival. how come none of the female members of the ship were concerned there were no medical bays for them? [editline]4th January 2013[/editline]
He looks like he's having so much fun in his role because he knows that it's bad movie.
oh man, i have to see this now. :-)
There's Something About Mary 8/10 Very entertaining movie. I don't know why but I love romantic comedies, they just put a smile on my face.
High Fidelity 6.8/10 I enjoyed this movie although I'm not entirely sure why, very interesting way of film-making I've not seen before. Interesting themes which i enjoyed.
The Relic - 4/10 The book was excellent but the movie strayed entirely too far from the source material. The acting was better than I expected, though it was nothing exceptional.
Prometheus 8/10(maybe nine) A movie never left me so confused yet so god damn satisfied. Worthy prequel/addtion to the Alien movies. In my opinion at least.
Prometheus 8/10(maybe nine) A movie never left me so confused yet so god damn satisfied. Worthy prequel/addtion to the Alien movies. In my opinion at least.
great film, no question.
prometheus 9/10 it was alright
alright movies get 9/10? shit, i wish i had your viewership standards.
alright movies get 9/10? shit, i wish i had your viewership standards.
Please, let's not start this again. I'm pretty sure we've had this argument three times this week alone.
alright movies get 9/10? shit, i wish i had your viewership standards.
yea i bet you do,.,. jesus stop bein so hipster about a MOVIE [sp]just turn your brain off lol[/sp]
Why are all of a sudden so many people watching prometheus again?
leave my opinions alone! :'( Any minute now til Rusty bursts into here and fucks over everything I believe in and stand for.
yea i bet you do,.,. jesus stop bein so hipster about a MOVIE [sp]just turn your brain off lol[/sp]
i try to, but some movies i usually expect to be more thinking than they are.
Lars and the Real Girl 7/10 Wasn't great, wasn't bad. Just alright.
Wreck it Ralph. 9/10. Like the Roger Rabbit of my generation. One or two iffy lines, but apart from that, it was great.
yea i bet you do,.,. jesus stop bein so hipster about a MOVIE [sp]just turn your brain off lol[/sp]
if you have to turn your brain off to enjoy a movie it's not a good movie
if you have to turn your brain off to enjoy a movie it's not a good movie
There is a difference between a movie being good and a movie being enjoyable.
just watched Drive again holy shit such a good film, had a number of the scenes stuck in my head since I first watched it and I'm sure I will for many years to come. soundtrack is fantastic, acting is fantastic, action scenes were fantastic, it's just perfect. even after watching it once before I've never had any movie keep me so close to the edge of my seat and my heart pumping 9.4/10, literally the only downfalls to the entire movie are Ron Perlmans face and the engine sounds during chases being slightly off [editline]5th January 2013[/editline] also due to seeing Bryan Cranston again I'm going to have to have a Breaking Bad marathon.
Life of Pi 8.5/10 Would've got a 9 if my ear could understand Indian accents better.
The Hobbit 8 out of 10
Up - 7.5/10 First time I've seen it and god damn that was emotional [editline]5th January 2013[/editline]
Tekken- 1/10 My friend has the worst taste in movies ever.
There's a Tekken film?
There's a Tekken film?
Shh! Don't spread this information, it's dogshit and deserves to be completely ignored. It never happened.
Prometheus - 11/10, best film ever made [sup][sup][sup][sup]I haven't actually seen it[/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup]
http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=131&title=the_mysteries_and_plot_holes_of_promethe&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 nerd yourself out.
None of that shit was in the movie, none of it was alluded to. This is literally just really stretched fan explanations. That is not good enough. The movie itself needs to allude toward a certain answer or just have it's leaps in logic make fucking sense. [editline]5th January 2013[/editline] you are seriously defending the work of a Lost writer? a show where they didn't even have a fucking answer to the entire plot, until they realised they actually have to finish the show? [editline]5th January 2013[/editline] Like, I liked lost. It wasn't good, but it was entertaining. But none of it made any fucking sense, and was stupid as hell. I liked it for it's individual character episodes. I really liked getting to know the characters, most of which were good. But the plot? The fucking plot dude. Shambles. The downside to prometheus is that while most of the characters are interesting and likeable, even they are inconsistent, moreso than Losts.
There's a Tekken film?
Multiple, actually.
rusty, that's why they call them theories. relax. You can't get away with moaning about that after the inception thing. also this character thing is really backwards and forwards, I'm getting "oh they're all just empty and stupid" then people think original Alien characters were bad for some reason. Lost was lost in its own world. It didn't come together but I didn't care, maybe the whole idea was it never coming together. [editline]5th January 2013[/editline]
Multiple, actually.
not live action
Killing Them Softly- 10/10 So wrong, yet so right. Darkly comic like the novel and the ending bar scene is amazing Fuck Cinemascore, people have no taste
started watching The Wire, let's see if this "HBO" shizzle is any good.
