I watched The Wire and Oz side-by-side, they are easily one of the best series I've seen but I never finished Oz (I got to late season 4, then stopped). Worth finishing it?
Watch both but I would say The Wire first. I'm only on season 2 of Oz right now and it is good but I prefer The Wire. The characters are more likable and the plot is more interesting, in my opinion.

Also The Wire's theme tune is pretty sweet, especially in season 1.
One of my favorite TV show openings for sure

Rubicon is also worth mentioning:

Too bad it was cancelled [sp]and the ending was fucking shit[/sp] Rest was really good though.
End of Watch - 7/10
October Sky - 7/10
I suppose it's fine if we talk about recent series we've been watching right?
Also been watching Treme now (same creators of The Wire). Reaaaally good shit, five episodes in season 1, 86/100
Shelock 2010 season 1
9/10
good stuff, very good stuff
Watch Firefly if you want a good and short Series.
Or Luther.
as far as anime goes Gurren Lagaan is a pretty great 1 season show
its just fucking good
The Wire takes an indepth look at every aspect of the drug trade in Baltimore, Maryland while Oz takes a look at prison life.
Whatever interests you really.
hbo sure do make some good shit
For anyone who has seen Life of Pi; during the scene where Pi's dad is at the french swimming pool, did anyone else find the fact that he was CGI incredibly creepy in an uncanny valley kind of way? I mean it really took me out of the movie it freaked me out so much.
I wish a general TV thread could last longer than a week. I prefer a good TV series to a good movie but they are harder to come across.
for some reason i watched the machinist again...
10/10 as always but it started making me feel a bit nutso again... probably cause my first full viewing was when i was completely fucked in the head. flashin back and shit.
[sp]this movie is just the best representation of madness ever. i thought i could say that with impunity while i was nuts but now not being nearly as fucked in the head the movie was much more fucked up to me. experiencing something similar enough to say i've been there and being out of the woods just enough to call myself sane again, i'd have to say this movie is for you if you wanna see a crazy person go off.[/sp]
just spoilered to be safe... i mean if you can't catch [sp]trevor is fucking crazy[/sp] by the first minute of the film get some god damn adderall.

he was cgi? i just thought it was a funny-looking indian man.
batman: the animated series is one of my god tier shows
he was cgi? i just thought it was a funny-looking indian man.
Definitely CGI. If not then he's a mutant.
[editline]7th January 2013[/editline]
While on the subject, I don't think there was a single scene in that movie that didn't have some form of CGI. Even when it was just those two guys eating lunch they had fades into different scenes that cut out the actors. It was quite strange.
Detachement was a really good movie.

There is a point where "shit we are really bad hey lets say we do that on PURPOSE" shines through.
have you even watched GL? it's ripe with satire. there's no way there wasn't some level of irony from episode 1.
No and I wasn't talking about it in particular, just bringing up a point to consider.
I watched Django.
It was pretty good, and you should watch it too.

wow rude don't compare the two
black dynamite put effort into looking like shit and was insanely obviously a spoof
TTGL just SO HAPPENS to embody a bunch of fucking cliches/tropes that make it look like a mecha parody, other than the 14 year old with giant tits I really doubt any of it is a blatant jab at anything
The Hobbit
10/10 would watch again
I think saw this one in the Tv a few years ago, very emotional without being cheezy. Absolutely worth a watch.
I loved the [sp]UFO[/sp] and the [sp]the fucking strange structure that just flies off like a rocket[/sp].
Death Race 3 : Inferno 10/10
All I wanted was cars, hot chicks and explosions, That's all I got. Who needs a good story anyway?
