it's wise to learn not to hold much emphasis in your own expectations, ultimately they are irrelevant
my feelings directly influence me when watching a movie
Well done. You have deemed yourself useless at having a discussion with.
that's ironic
saw "You Don't Know Jack" a few days ago. Needless to say, Al Pacino has indeed returned to his great form finally. What a performance. There's several ways you can look at his character, being that he plays Dr Kavorkian, who can be given credit to trying to legalise doctor assisted suicide. I can't really tell whether the man was sadistic or not. He seemed really righteous to me, nobody could do better than Pacino here.
this needs to be turned into movie ratings and debate thread. least i think so. it's as if i'm beckoned here to argue... sometimes it's like i could give a shit less but it's so fun to squabble lets get fussy anyways. [editline]23rd February 2012[/editline] i think i just divided by zero...
My Week With Marilyn 9/10
Jack and Jill - I shouldn't have paid for this/10
Jack and Jill - I shouldn't have paid for this/10
I'm surprised you didn't gauge your eyes out
Jack and Jill - I shouldn't have paid for this/10
I watched it online, it wasn't even that bad. I'd give it a solid 5/10.. I still question why a lot of adam sandler movies turn from a comedy to a drama mid-way through the movie.
I'd give it a solid 5/10.
um.....
One thing is Click, with him [sp]destroying his whole family and dying at the end of the movie, that was sad[/sp] the other thing is him dressing up as a woman and not wanting to go out with al pacino. HOW SAD yes rusty, I know what you think of click, that was just an example [sp]dying is much worse than what happens in jack and jill[/sp]
Did anyone else here like Red Tails? I couldn't find a thread on it so I assume you guys hate it or something.
Apparently it was pretty forgettable.
but...but... planes...
The secret World of Arrietty. 8/10 I really enjoyed it.
That looks like Studio Ghibli. Is it?
That looks like Studio Ghibli. Is it?
yep. Its in theaters this week.
Yeah, it is. If it flops, Studio Ghibli will get shut down.
God, that would just be terrible.
I don't get it, it says on the wiki page that made a huge profit in the original release.
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengence 7/10
thats a 9.5 for sure
alright, time to see that new ghibli movie patronage, motherfucker
The Green Lantern. Meh.. 6/10.
The Wall - 8.5/10 Probably one of the best music related films ever made. Trippy as shit in parts though!
Did anyone else here like Red Tails? I couldn't find a thread on it so I assume you guys hate it or something.
I haven't seen Red Tails, but Half in the Bag did a good review of it.
Yeah, it is. If it flops, Studio Ghibli will get shut down.
Wait what, why would they get shut down? Considering they've "made" one of the best animated movies in history, which all did great all over the world. Someone explain.
I haven't seen Red Tails, but Half in the Bag did a good review of it.
they must have come into the theater expecting something deep and well written it's fucking george lucas, cg and flat characters are all he can provide now. I just liked how it was like one of those shitty propaganda movies from the forties and fifties, where it's all WOO AMERICA and LOOK AT THESE SOLDIERS DOING WONDERFUL THINGS, except with a tad more depth than that which surprised me. The CG was pretty damn cool too. However, as I said I'm a plane buff, so i have a very biased view on this movie.
One movie doesn't make the company rich forever. They have to release other films too, and what if they outright fail at the box office? It's awful. Studio Ghibli almost always puts out great films.
Oh man, I hope they make it through would be such a waste of great talent. Howl's moving castle, monoke and spirited away were all beautiful and atmospheric.
The expendables - 5/10 Stallone tried to make an hommage to badass 80's action movies but he digged to deep in the subplots making the movie pretty boring at most times. The flow was really bad. +1 for the insane bodycount.
Face-Off - 8/10 It was really much better than I expected (yeah yeah expectations and all that), Nicolas Cage acted like a freak as always, though this time, it made sense for him to do that. Travolta did an amazing job switching characters, too, though the first scenes with Cage [sp]being Archer[/sp] were just plain weird. The last scenes left something to be desired, but I think the rest of the movie compensates for that.
Memento (2000) 10/10
I Am Legend Alternate Ending - 7/10 I think the original is better overall. It was more of a "mother of god..." ending. The alternate ending is just meh.
