Skyfall 5/10 - Action parts are only really at the beginning and end, everything in between that feels like a waste of recording time. Nothing really happens? Silver was a really cool bad guy, but after hearing rumors that his act rivaled the Jokers is just absurd. He was good, but not that good. Only a few memorable pieces I'd watch the film again for.
Sounds like Die Another Day is more your speed.
Texas Chainsaw 3D Critical scale- 0/10 Fun scale- 8/10 This is a fucking awful movie that shits on the original's reputation and story, but damn, it was funny. I urge you guys to go rent it or something when it comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray. Plus, seeing the Evil Dead trailer on the big screen was awesome.
Seeing the trailer for the FIRST TIME on the big screen was awesome  And yeah.... TC3D 8/10 just for entertainment, lol.
Gangster Squad, as said before had some great style to make up for the substance, but i'll be more generous and say it's an 8/10 for me
Babe - 8/10 babe kicks ass
Silver Linings Playbook - 7/10 One of the better romantic dramas I've seen. I much prefer Jennifer Lawrence doing roles like this.
The Hobbit - 7.5/10 Entertaining movie, but felt messy for some reason. I might have just been looking too hard for flaws though. I liked the humor and pretty much all of the first hour or so.
Comme Une Chef, a movie about 2 chefs, and stars Jean Reno. 8/10 Pretty simple plot, but its nice! Worth watching.
Saw Zero Dark Thirty. actually really liked it, better than Hurt Locker imo. kept a strong integrity for the 2 and a half hours, didn't expect to enjoy it that much seeing as what has already been said about the war on terror has been said. But it's a worthwhile movie. Recommended.
For some reason I find middle-east war on terror movies incredibly hard to follow. Body of Lies, Green Zone etc. I watch them once, twice, three times and still I don't get much out of them. I am the only one?
The Shining - 8.5/10 I saw it for the very first time the other day and I loved it. Great pacing, acting and cinematography. Wasn't sure about the whole ghost thing though.

I rather liked Green Zone. Disjointed is a good way to describe Hurt Locker though.
That "Next" movie with Nicholas Cage was on TV so I ended up watching a bunch of it, everything was so fucking dumb and the ending was pretty much "yeah all that important stuff and all the action and the climax of it all? yeah none of that happened so we just wasted like 45 minutes and now we'll end the movie just when nothing happens". And Cage's hair looked dumb

I really didn't enjoy The Hurt Locker, I still have no idea how it was best picture for that year when you look at the other nominees

I am the only one?
watch Syriana. then you'll realise what's hard to keep up with :-) [editline]13th January 2013[/editline] hurt locker was soothing. just because it's a "war on terror" film, doesn't mean it'll be like Counter Strike or something. [editline]13th January 2013[/editline] the last 30 minutes of Zero Dark Thirty was fantastic though.
Prince of Darkness (1986) 10/10 will watch again
Totally Awesome - 5/10 Eh.. somewhat anti-climatic moments and arkward acting And one of the two xXx. I had no Idea which I was watching because the title said it was "xXx: Up One Level"
And one of the two xXx. I had no Idea which I was watching because the title said it was "xXx: Up One Level"
Holy shit, I watched it too recently. It's dumb as fuck, but equally as fun to watch. Like a mix of a Blaxploitation movie and a typical 80's action movie, but made and released in the 2000s. (also, it was apparently directed by the same person who did Die Another Day.) You're talking about the one with Ice Cube as the lead character, right?

What made Zero Dark Thirty so good that it gets nominated for Oscar?
the middle east
The only reason I would even consider seeing that film is to justify why it will suck because although it's shamelessly pathetic Oscar bait it will suck (just like the hurt locker) Hurt Locker was bad and disjointed, this will probably be the same. It also looks like dumb propaganda and the director is some kind of Partisan for the US government and military.Shit person shit films. Dont know why she is so popular, she's not even a good director wtf
What made Zero Dark Thirty so good that it gets nominated for Oscar?
There's a shitload of "good" films, but it has to meet the criteria of the Acadamy. It's got to have some sort of social significance. You'll rarely see a "surreal" film get a nomination. [editline]13th January 2013[/editline]
It also looks like dumb propaganda
trailers ruin all films.
Hurt Locker was disjointed
enter the void and mulholland drive were disjointed, yet those are good films why? [editline]13th January 2013[/editline]
The Academy is biased
how can any award committee not be? how can a human being not be biased.. [editline]13th January 2013[/editline] my only problem with the acadamy is that they're given way too much prestige, but it's the history i guess so i can't be asked to care
I don't mean like that, I just mean that The Hurt Locker is shittily written and edited so it doesn't flow at all. Not seen Enter The Void so I can't comment, but Lynch is a master at making seemingly irrelevant and different things all flow together and make sense perfectly, so long as you stay inside the film. he does it on purpose. The Hurt Locker just failed at what it was trying to do leaving it a messy film with a dodgy script that was poorly put together.
Pretty sure Enter The Void was not Lynch
no it was gaspar noe. but mullholland drive is Lynch and that's what I was talking about
