so all normal people are dull is that right?
Maybe we should all wear face paint and act like the Joker to be acceptable in your world true?
Why don't you admit you were bored by "investigative" films rather than giving menial excuses.
Mother's Day (2010) - 6/10
The sadistic members of a villainous family return to their childhood home to terrorize the new home owners and their guests.
Well that was pretty boring. I didn't know who to root for because none of them were very likeable.
This is 40:
Really, really unfunny. Maybe its cause I'm 22 and cant realy relate, or maybe this film really just sucked, or both, idk. Its just dull.

How in the shit did you gather "everyone should be as kooky as the joker" from "all these flat characters are boring"
Another ridiculous fucking post from akz
I've noticed that 'america fuck yeah' movies and TV shows like Zero Dark Thirty and Homeland are winning lots of awards. Coincidence? I think not.
Homeland won over Breaking Bad for fuck sake.
But Homeland is legitimately great. Damian Lewis + Claire Danes.

Calling someone "one-dimentional" for being unsurprising or just normal is ridiculous.
You need to elaborate how a person can be "flat" since you moan a lot.
He didnt say they were flat for being natural or whatever he said they were just flat
If you need me to explain what a flat character is to you then what are you doing analyzing films?
He said he felt the characters were flat, you jumped on.him.for apparently finding anyone less ridiculous than the joker boring even though thats not all what he said
[editline]15th January 2013[/editline]
Then again if you werent arguing irrelevant or just plain silly points you wouldnt be you
the movie was focused on one person so it really didn't matter how "complex" the other characters were.
Yeah and he said she was only slightly less boring

I want to know what it means to you, I'm only analysing films for new things. That's why menial things don't bother me, such as you when you vent.
It means a character that doesnt have much depth, ie they dont.develop very far and only have a few traits that even define who they are
Flat characters have a place in stories as minor characters that support the protagonist or another character or advance the plot
If the protagonist is two dimensional thats bad writing
I haven't seen zero dark thirty so i dont know if Maya really is as boring as protocol claims, but i will more than mikely see it possibly today
That being said i dont have to have seen the film to recognize what you said was absolutely stupid and uncalled for

I... what?
First of all, ZDT is hardly investigative. What did it investigate? It was a dramatization of what took place up until UBL's death.
The characters in the movie were genuinely one-dimensional. Dan for example, just introduces Maya to what's the CIA is up to in the Middle East and then mostly disappears for the rest of the movie. Maya's boss wasn't substantial. Panetta as a character was singly-purposed and had maybe 20 minutes of screen time.
There are plenty of "normal" characters who aren't flat and boring. For a movie like ZDT to work, the main character can't be two-dimensional.
It's not like I vented insults lol
But these days it really has become customary to call anyone without a specific "quality/depth" about them, to disregard them entirely.
What really is depth when we all have different perceptions of it.
The things that were wrong with ZDT include not giving anything new for me even as I've seen documentaries regarding the subject matter. I'd say the documentaries were a lot more intriguing.
The one thing worth seeing is the singular character that holds the film together.. and the last half.
What did it investigate? It was a dramatization of what took place up until UBL's death.
the entire first half was purely "gaining intelligence".
the final half was "putting that into action".
Zero Dark Thirty.
On a scale of 1 to 10, it was pretty decent.
whoever said up above that ZDT was following the "America, fuck yeah" trend, no.
also, if you want to see a better movie of the same shit, watch this.

man that cover sucks.
Silver Linings Playbook - 9/10
bradley coopers best acting yet, i seriously hope he stays away from movies like Hangover from now on
Zero Dark Thirty: 6/10
I didnt hate this film but the characters were uninteresting
Nothing about it made me give a shit about the whole bin laden quest
The ending was anticlimactic, maybe for a reason
Nothing special, not really worth watching imo

at least homeland is a good show though
Looper
8.5/10, would definitely watch again.

didn't see a single trailer, maybe in america it's more popular.
tbh if a trailer of a film comes up that I really want to see, I just ignore them..
when I went to see Skyfall, the End of Watch trailer came up and it literally "gave away" the entire film.
Fuck, shouldn't had missed argo.
Fuck, shouldn't had missed argo.
wouldn't call it "Best film" caliber.. but it's a very good film nonetheless.
I expected a bit more hostility and a darker aesthetic tbh.
also this is the first time I've seen Malcolm in the Middle's dad in a film which is good. :-)
You didn't see Drive?
[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]

must have missed him then wow, probably didn't recognise him in Total Recall or Drive.
[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]

[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]

So you've never heard of Breaking Bad, huh?
Coraline.

Finally managed to see it while babysitting. Everything about the film is beautiful - the pacing and atmosphere are fantastic for a 'kids' film. Other Mother is one creepy bitch.
