[sp]Morgan was actually the bad guy who was making Pitt pay for his hubris and overall early dickery and basically giving a middle finger to society around him but nah he was good, and I also thought Pitt might mistakenly shoot Morgan when Kevin was talking about the pregnancy because he might've mistakenly assumed Morgan was sleeping with her but NAH[/sp]
oh god you think too much, this is fucking funny
Troll 2 Truly deserving of the honor of being the "best worst movie", Troll 2 is truly a failure on every level of film-making. However, the film actually manages to transcend badness and delivers an entertaining viewing experience. I give Troll 2 a 10/10 for being an entertaining disaster.
Gangster Squad: like 6/10 idk the style didn't make up for the lack of substance and it felt kind of cheaply made at times. ultimately forgettable
Lincoln - 9/10 I'm trying to think of criticisms but I just don't have any. Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln was phenomenal but I liked the supporting actors as well. It was well paced. Editing was kinda jumpy but I saw what they were going for. It was simultaneously historically accurate and thoroughly entertaining. Tied with Django Unchained as my movie of 2012.
liam neeson is overrated he was really only ever good in schindler's list and only because that movie was so good.
I have no idea why Liam Neeson has suddenly become this memetic badass (like Chuck Norris circa 2006).
The imposter [sp] hurrr durrr itz a dockumentery notz a moovie XD [/sp] 10/10 Seriously, I don't want to ruin it for any of you. Just fucking watch it. Now.
hey rusty, did you ever see the 98 les mis film? with liam neeson and geoffrey rush?
liam neeson is overrated he was really only ever good in schindler's list and only because that movie was so good.
kinsey was a great film too. I know that overall, V/H/S is terrible, but are any of the V/H/S shorts any good? Because I could just watch that rather than the entire film. Take it away Rusty!
The Assembly Cut is actually a lot better than the original but yeah, I still don't want to count it as a canon entry in the series.
Last 3 movies I watched. Escape From NY - Really awesome action flick, just oozed manliness. Call me Snake. Lucky Number Slevin - Went in expecting a crime-drama that had a good amount of humor thrown in, left shaken and amazed. Definitely right next to Fight Club on my list of favorite movies. Drive - Great movie, can obviously see where Hotline Miami got its influences. Excellent soundtrack and wasn't afraid to be raw and brutal when it needed to be. Can't wait to see if they make a movie based on the second book.
Just watched Alien 3. Hmm, yes, I'll pretend that Ripley's story ended with Aliens.
dude, the final cut is worth watching. original is garbage.
its not the final cut its the assembly cut
who "assembled" it? [editline]17th January 2013[/editline] if it's not a director cut.
i think it is a directors cut. but it's just called the assembly cut. i don't know why.
Director David Fincher was the only director from the franchise who declined to participate in the box-set releases.
[editline]17th January 2013[/editline] maybe he just hated how studios treated him.
Keith 6/10 It was a chick flick and it was with my girlfriend, she sobbed and I got free cuddles. Thanks movie.
Django Unchained 9/10 cant wait to see it again
Les Misérables - 7.5/10 I enjoyed a lot of it but I did get bored occasionally, mostly during songs when it was just focusing solely on the singers face. I think I would have preferred it if it was a regular movie with no singing but I imagine that wouldn't go down well with fans of the theater production. [editline]17th January 2013[/editline] Dredd - 8/10 Great action film. I hope it gets a sequel but it is a bit of a stretch.
Rushmore - 9/10 My favourite Wes Anderson movie apart from moonrise kingdom - had a smile on my face for more or less the whole film.
Rushmore - 9/10 My favourite Wes Anderson movie apart from moonrise kingdom - had a smile on my face for more or less the whole film.
not seen that one yet, you seen Bottle Rocket?
Haute Tension 9/10 I really like it
Memento, 9/10, really awesome film, keeps you wondering what the fuck is going on right to the end.
Haute Tension 9/10 I really like it
The concrete saw scene. God damn.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou I started watching this movie with an open mind. "It has Bill Murray in it, what could go wrong?" Everyone told me it was good. 4/10 I don't even know what I fucking watched. Is it a comedy? Is it a drama? Who cares.
Watched Aliens in class, not quite done with it, but I really fucking love it. James Cameron is one of my favorite directors (mostly for like, Terminator 1, 2, Aliens[Aliens being my favorite movie, T2 being one of my favorites]), and he knows how to write a good plot, script, etc, and knows how to make a movie with great pacing and the other things a great movie needs (lighting, atmosphere, music[though those aren't UP to Cameron, I'd be willing to say that he has a choice in those thing's direction]). Anyway, 9/10 movie, the -1 is arbitrary so that I don't seem like an overly excited fanboy, as I don't figure any movie is really deserving of a 10/10, but for all intents and purposes, it's a great film in every respect. [editline]17th January 2013[/editline]
Just watched Alien 3. Hmm, yes, I'll pretend that Ripley's story ended with Aliens.
It's an alright movie, it wasn't really bad in any respect, but it certainly is hard to call it particularly good when you take into consideration the films in the series preceding it. But when it comes down to it, it was an alright sequel, I'd say it wrong to ignore it in the canon, now...Resurrection...that was awful.
Paranorman 10/10 My second favorite animated movie of 2012. Wreck-it-Ralph's got some big competition at the Oscars.
