kill bill vol. 1
told my girlfriend it was one of the only tarantino films i haven't seen, so she went out and bought it for me like a little kiss-ass bitch
8/10, fuckin sweet movie. i loved the anime segments, shit was mad tight
Stake Land
7/10 quality
8.5/10 overall
One of the best B movies I've seen in a while
Memento, 9/10, really awesome film, keeps you wondering what the fuck is going on right to the end.
You mean the beginning
hohohohohohohoho
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
I started watching this movie with an open mind.
"It has Bill Murray in it, what could go wrong?"
Everyone told me it was good.
4/10 I don't even know what I fucking watched. Is it a comedy? Is it a drama? Who cares.
You are literally dumb if you couldn't understand that movie. And it's a great fucking movie.
Django Unchained 8/10
Rushmore - 9/10
My favourite Wes Anderson movie apart from moonrise kingdom - had a smile on my face for more or less the whole film.
I love the scene with [sp]Bill Murray's reaction to the bees nest in the hotel room.[/sp]
Looper - 8.5/10
One of the best sci-fi movies I've seen in a long time.
Life of Pi 3D - 7/10
It was a very good story line, the dialogue and acting was superb. I don't really see it getting a higher rating though.

The movie didn't have an underlying moral that's difficult to understand or anything. I just don't understand why a film like that was made.

Birdemic: Shock and Terror
This movie is god-awful!

2 crappy CG birds out of 10
Django Unchained 10/10. Definetly one of my new favourite movies.
Django Unchained, 10/10, loved it.
Hitchcock, 8/10. Not perfect, but a fun movie nonetheless.
Les Miserables - 7/10
Some good performances, especially from the supporting cast (Gavroche, factory foreman etc). Editing felt very choppy at times and I think it could have needed a few more minutes (apparently if there is an extended edition it will be 15 minutes longer). Camera work and cinematography was pretty awful. Shaky, out of focus and the horrible amount of close ups. Seriously, couldn't they have thrown in some wide shots? And what's up with the tilted camera angle when focusing on characters? I liked the movie all in all, but Jesus, the camera work.
Dragonheart 6.5/10
I don't remember the CGI and acting being that bad, but I enjoyed the movie nonetheless.

it's a pretty damn good film apart from the action scenes
Finally got round to watching Dirty Harry, I'd say that was probably a good 8.5-9/10
Saving Private Ryan
Still a 9/10
Dredd
8/10
Not very good from a story perspective, but it's a good mindless action/violence movie.
The Breakfast Club - 9/10
Watched a few films recently:
Watchmen: 8.5/10
Refreshing as its pretty different from most superhero films, and it involves characters which I barely knew anything about which was more interesting than the same old overused superheroes.
Cube: 7/10
Pretty interesting, but how so much stuff was left unexplained was somewhat annoying. Also impressive that it was done on such a small budget.
V for Vendetta: 9/10
I don't really know why I liked it so much. Interesting character and an interesting setting / scenario. Also, Stephen Fry.
Vertigo (1958): 10/10.
I've seen plenty of great films as of recent, but specifically Vertigo sticks in my mind. It's perfect and being that James Stewart is one of my favourite actors being partnered with a great suspense story is a match made in heaven. I notice something more with repeated viewings, like a minor detail in the plot or somewhere in the background, it makes me want to watch it again. I've never felt such a love for one singular film, and such is the reason I've given it a perfect score. Some may disagree, but this is my personal favourite film of all-time.
Watched The Watch; I thought it was really funny! 8/10, the jab at the Oscars was great.
Dredd
8/10
Argo
9/10
Ben shouldn't had cast himself as the lead though
Ben shouldn't had cast himself as the lead though
I personally thought he did a great job.
Dredd: 7.5/10
Plot and acting were nothing to write home about but the concept was interesting enough and I loved how visually inventive it was. Great sound and cinematography as well.
the bourne legacy 6/10
wasn't terrible, but the plot was kinda lame and there wasn't really any closure
it just kind of ended
Les Mis - 8/10
a bit draggy at some parts, but gottdamn that ending got me ;__;
(and anne hathaway jeezz)
Moneyball- 9/10
Excellent show
I just watched American Beauty for the first time.
I... I need to think about things for a while.
Anyone else know about other movies that resemble Cloud Atlas and Memento?

Not seen any other films where they tell the story backwards but in terms of "parallel" plots, go for Babel.
