fast and furious 5 8/10 good action all the way through
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the ring 4.5/5 Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 5/5 Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 5/5 I'd seen bits and pieces here and there, and what I could decipher when they were put on during parties, but I had never sat down and watched the movies from start to finish in good movie watching coniditons. All I can say is, I am blown away. The first movie was a great introduction, it felt a bit rushed at some points (Hard for a 3 hour movie to do) The last two were simply amazing though. Everything was near perfect in execution for the source material. The biggest movies I have ever seen.

Django unchained (2012) 9/10 Amazing movie by Quentin Tarantino :3
I can't wait to watch Django, all the people that I know that watched it said that it was amazing.
I can't wait to watch Django, all the people that I know that watched it said that it was amazing.
what tarantino movie isn't? haven't seen Death Proof but still.
you should prob watch them all even death proof [editline]20th January 2013[/editline] jackie brown is his most underrated, i loved it
jackie brown is his most underrated, i loved it
have no clue why people are underwhelmed by such a great film.. maybe they wanted something like "Black Dynamite" style craziness. Just because it focuses less on the crazy and more on character chemistry doesn't make it "not worth watching".
deathproof owns imo its not one of his best but still great. its great fun and Kurt Russell owns it. its not very tarantino which is probs why his fans don't like it but its still got plenty stuff, underrated film
what tarantino movie isn't? haven't seen Death Proof but still.
I haven't seen deathproof either, although I am not that interested that involves cars and babes. Might give it a shot though.
although I am not that interested that involves cars and babes.
not really it revolves around interesting characters and an intense car chase that even people who don't like cars can appreciate
Well, the trailer was not really convincing to me but trailers do tend to be rather bad and not really depicting the groove of a movie. Whenever I watch the trailer of drive, it's just not portraying the movie at all.
have no clue why people are underwhelmed by such a great film..
Have yet to see it personally, but I thought it was because it's very different from the other Tarantino films? Something on topic now though. Django Unchained 5/5 10/10 A+ fucking loved it [editline]19th January 2013[/editline]
Whenever I watch the trailer of drive, it's just not portraying the movie at all.
Drive had probably the worst trailer I've seen
the deer hunter has the worst trailer no arguement.
End of Evangelion 9/10 Everything about this movie is amazing.
Cloud Atlas 7/10 It's okay
deathproof owns imo its not one of his best but still great. its great fun and Kurt Russell owns it. its not very tarantino which is probs why his fans don't like it but its still got plenty stuff, underrated film
it's tarantino dialogue almost to the point of parody. the diner scene in the second half lasted like 10 minutes and was nothing but (though now that i stop and realize it was all in one take, i'm more impressed with that movie than ever). that coupled with bits of abrupt and intense action, this is as tarantino as it gets imo the problem with death proof is that it was back to back with planet terror, and vice versa. planet terror is such a fast-paced action fest that makes death proof feels slow in comparison. even if the movies were flipped around, planet terror would feel weak as a narrative after the characters and pacing in death proof.
Watched The Watch; I thought it was really funny! 8/10, the jab at the Oscars was great.
I don't know why you couldn't just post in the thread but okay. I enjoyed a movie, that's it. I like Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade a lot, so naturally I thought the film was funny. Vaughn was essentially his same character from Old School and Ben Stiller was Ben Stiller but that's to be expected. Around half way through it started to drag, but after a 20ish minute rut it picked back up for a humorous and satisfying ending. There were plenty of laugh out loud jokes (the Oscar Jab I mentioned previously), so everything said maybe an 8 is high, but a 6 or 7 no doubt. I don't feel like I wasted my time watching it. Anyway, finished Boardwalk Empire Season 3 last night, I know it's not a movie but it's still fantastic. 9.5 Steve Buscemi eyes out of 10.
Gangster Squad (rewatch unfortunately because they cancelled my reservation for Django) - 7/10 this time i appreciated the style and set and outfits alot, but also noticed that sean penn is the only character in the movie without a shit script

Dredd 8/10 [editline]19th January 2013[/editline] Though I read some of the graphic novels and comics as my dad has a shit load of them, and the cities aren't quite as I imagined, and they seemed to have a disturbing sense of humour about them. But that doesn't really bother me too much, it was still a good film.
kill bill vol. 1 told my girlfriend it was one of the only tarantino films i haven't seen, so she went out and bought it for me like a little kiss-ass bitch 8/10, fuckin sweet movie. i loved the anime segments, shit was mad tight
just watched kill bill vol. 2 9/10, i liked it a lot more than the first one both of them were awesome though. does tarantino have any plans for a vol. 3? imdb says so but i don't trust that
Watched a few films recently: Watchmen: 8.5/10 Refreshing as its pretty different from most superhero films, and it involves characters which I barely knew anything about which was more interesting than the same old overused superheroes. Cube: 7/10 Pretty interesting, but how so much stuff was left unexplained was somewhat annoying. Also impressive that it was done on such a small budget. V for Vendetta: 9/10 I don't really know why I liked it so much. Interesting character and an interesting setting / scenario. Also, Stephen Fry.
Wait, the first Cube movie, right?
Django Unchained - 9.5/10 It was v.good, very well written and most importantly very well acted, Jaime Foxx's penis gets an 8/10 from me.

Life of Pi - 9/10 A masterpiece. [editline]20th January 2013[/editline]
Dredd 8/10 Argo 9/10 Ben shouldn't had cast himself as the lead though
Argo was surprisingly good. The trailers made it look like a light-hearted comedy thing though.
Here Comes The Boom - 6/10 Was a good time waster.
Moon - 8.7/10
