tron legacy 8.5/10 really pretty effects and a pretty good storyline, but generic protagonist bonus half point for the daft punk soundtrack
personally watched it purely for daft punk and olivia wilde.
in regards to the kill bill vol. 3, QT has stated before that he wants vernita green's daughter to get older as it is set to be at least ten years later, when the daughter is old enough to exact her revenge on the bride. basically, the whole premise comes off the line thurman gives, saying that when the time is right and if the daughter wants her revenge, she can get it.
Oh holy shit, he has to make this.
Django Unchained 9.5/10
tron legacy 8.5/10 really pretty effects and a pretty good storyline, but generic protagonist bonus half point for the daft punk soundtrack
Speaking of Tron Has anyone seen the Tron Uprising series yet? i know they were made for the pre-teen age group but i think it's really well made, the design is fantastic trully what cartoon's should be instead of that horrible low poly 3D designs. and the story is just as amazing and it's not getting a second season :(
Batman: The Dark Knight returns Pt.II 8/10 Was pretty good, the voice acting kinda bugged me, and [sp]Alfred's death[/sp] was all kinds of unnecessary.

Rec. 3 10/10 I love the entire Rec. series, despite it being in Portuguese(?) originally, they're all great thrillers, although I'm not sure how I felt about them dropping the amateur camera style in the 3rd one
django unchained 10/10 best movie of 2012 for me.
The Thing (1982) - 9.5/10 Oh man this was an intense movie. The feeling of paranoia and suspense was the best I've seen since Psycho. Carpenter said that he wanted to break the horror rule of "never show the monster" and by golly he demolished that. A great deal of the movie had been spoiled - the unfolding dog, the chest cavity, the spider-head, the blood tests - so I wasn't really surprised when they happened. I was, however, shocked and engrossed by how downright scary this movie is - it'll put the terror in you. The acting was great (Kurt Russell and John Carpenter are a winning combo) and the score (or lack thereof, depending on the scene) really worked to build the mood. Plus, the effects have aged quite well. The Secret of Kells - 8/10 Very well animated, I enjoyed the style. Princess Mononoke - objectively 9/10, personally 7.5/10 People always talk about how animation is great because you can see or do things that are impossible in real life - well, this movie sure proves them right. This movie is off the friggin' chain with the bizarre stuff that happens, even rivaling The Thing at times with the bizarre twisted creatures. Everything is crazy. The dub is pretty good; some voices are quite good (Minnie Driver) while others are not very good at all (Billy Bob Thornton). I could tell that Avatar: The Last Airbender was influenced by Miyazaki's style. Overall, I recognized that it was expertly made but I just didn't care for it all that much.
Dark knight return part 2 8/10 Those [sp]jokers[/sp] scene man, I knew he was crazy but holy shit
[sp]How did he die? From a seizure as in the source?[/sp]
I'm not sure, I'm gonna go my local comic shop soon and see if I can't pick up a trade of the original.
Misery - 7.5/10 Very tense and dark in places, Kathy Bates is perfect for the role as Annie.
Django Unchained 9/10 Probably the best action movie I've seen. Not that I've really seen that many.
Iron Sky: 7/10 Brilliant concept, incredible effects, ok acting, and a fun concept well executed with the exception of the ending which just felt out of place compared to the rest of of the very, intentional, B-Movie feel and humor.
Also Burn After Reading.. damn that film was good.
Seen it. Was fucking hilarious.
Django Unchained - 9/10 Tarantino sure knows how to make fun movies.
next Wes Anderson movie: http://rateyourmusic.com/film/the_grand_budapest_hotel/ O MY thatcast... my brain just imploded
Dark Knight Rises I'm not a big fan of super hero films at the best of times but Nolan's second Batman film was pretty good. The third installment however left me clock watching about half way through. Marion Cotillard seemed to be treading water and Bane just didn't have that menacing presence that Hardy has captured with other performances. I didn't like the stars and stripes flag flapping clip when people needed hope, that just fucked me right off. The only character for me who stood out was Michael Cane's butler who genuinely seemed to have some depth. As for the other characters and the way they tied into the story it just didn't cut it for me. As for catwoman, fuck that shit and fuck Robin too. Overall it just felt like a collection of scenes linked together in autopilot. I know this film has some fanatical followers and I kind of get it if you're Batman fans but I doubt this film will convert anyone who didn't really care about the other 2 films. By all means rip me a new arsehole, I just say what I saw.
Dredd - Solid 8/10 First film I really enjoyed in 3D. Not keen on the bike, though.
So... I hate america/robin is gay/symbolism is boring. Alright, that's cool with me. I liked it, but the ending was retarded.
I got nothing against America but there was a quick scene of typical Hollywoodised nationalism with a shredded flag when things were looking desperate. It just took me right out of the film and it wasn't just me, a friend of mine groaned as well. Either his gf was wanking him off under the blanket or he was as pissed off as I was. The story around the bad guys was rather sloppy don't you think? I didn't hate the film, maybe my post was a little aggressive. I thought Nolan did a good job of wrapping the story up and bringing it to a conclusion when he went into Batmans reasons and how it had to end. The final scenes however were just horrible. I'd love to rant but I can't really start dumping spoilers, despite the fact I'm probably the last on here to watch it anyway. We all enjoy different kinds of films, this isn't really the kind of stuff I get lost in but I'm happy for those that do.
the way begins ended and dk started was clear and crisp. dk left an ending that didn't require any conclusion at all, for me rises was doomed before it was even released. it's like Terminator 3. and you all can relate with that so fermez le bouche.
next Wes Anderson movie: http://rateyourmusic.com/film/the_grand_budapest_hotel/ O MY thatcast... my brain just imploded
I noticed he's got Bill Murray on board again. Those 2 must get on so well. As much as I love Andersons films Murray isn't the pull for me, its Andersons style of film making but the deadpan style of Murray fits in very well with what he does.
honestly, there will be a day in my life where i just watch all of his films in a day. he's the only director i'd do that with tbh
Killer Joe (2011) Matt Mcconnashit stars in a rather black comedy which sort of feels like a cross between the TV show shameless and Oliver Stone's U-turn. The family it centers on are one of those classes of people you wish didn't exist but sadly they do. The dialog is quite funny if you have a slightly twisted sense of humour but the scenes with Killer Joe played by Matthew McConaughey reveal an actor who can do much more than a rom com if he would just diversify. His character is one of those who makes you screw your face up in a WTF... kind of way but still entertains enormously. Fellow stars Emile Hirsch and co provide a solid cast that bounce off each other quite nicely. My upbringing was far from normal but this is one fucked up part of society which will entertain fans of Tarantino, just don't expect it to rival the master. I recommend this film.
He [sp]died from a heart attack,[/sp] just like in the comic.
Ah. Couldn't remember, been a while since I read the comic.
the way begins ended and dk started was clear and crisp. dk left an ending that didn't require any conclusion at all, for me rises was doomed before it was even released.
I thought that there was a bit of a disconnect between TDK and TDKR. In The Dark Knight's ending, Batman's riding off, the music triumphantly swells, and Gordon proclaims him as a hero and protector. So the rational assumption is that he continues crimefighting despite plunging his hands into the filth, right? No, he rides the Batpod home and proceeds to lock himself in his room for eight years. There's a similar plot line - Batman retires, the city needs him, he makes a triumphant return - in The Dark Knight Returns but it has more punch to it; he's been Batman for much longer, he's older and grumpier, etc. It's said that most high schoolers consider the Batman to be a myth (Bruce has been retired for ten years); in Rises, the kid who asks Blake if Batman will come back was probably only six years old last time Batman was seen (eight years ago). For The Avengers we had five movies in four years - they all built off each other and built up hype for the big movie we all knew was coming. By contrast, Rises came out four years after The Dark Knight and - like I said above - didn't connect that well. It sounds like I'm really ragging on the movie - I'm not, I enjoyed it, but it was a bit underwhelming.
