Django Unchained - 9/10...
Fantastic, classic Tarantino.
Loved the shootout at the end.
Prometheus 4/10
my god that was just awful. I honestly don't understand why this movie had a lot of positive reviews.
The Good the bad and the ugly Extended version - GOLD/10
i want to watch this movie in the theatres with other fans and have a great fucking time
The Law Abiding Citizen
9/10
It was mostly pretty good, But it was pretty Cliche at times.
Life of Pi - 7.5/10
I enjoyed most of the film. The visuals were nice but I'm not a big fan of 3D. I liked [sp]the alternate story at the end but then when the writer just straight up explained the parallels between the animals and the people I felt kind of insulted that they thought people wouldn't get it.[/sp]
if the last stand had some better writing and more things for johnny knoxville to do, it could have been great. as it stands, it's pretty average. not soulless trash average, but just unfortunate average.

Yeah, it flows better in the book. Didn't like how he had to explain it in the movie.
Going to watch Apocalypse Now for the first time tomorrow. Should I watch redux or the original?
Original to start, Redux some other time.
Burn After Reading - 8.7/10
Funny as hell
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist 7.5/10
First time watching it. I thought the vast majority of it was hilarious (and endlessly quotable) but it went a little too dumb and/or weird in a few places. Also, the theme from "Space Jam" syncs up with the cow fight shockingly well.
X-Men 7/10
Maybe I've been spoiled by all the great superhero movies that have come out in the 12 years since this one, because I found it a bit underwhelming. Some performances were great (Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine) but quite a few were lackluster (Cyclops, Rogue, Iceman). The CG hasn't aged very well (especially the Mystique transformation scenes) but the costumes and practical effects still look nice. The plot seemed overly simple, but with an ensemble cast I suppose that's par for the course. I just wish we got to know the characters a little better.
Total Recall 8.5/10
This is a great movie because all the parts fit together. Arnold turns in a great performance, the sets look great, there's some black humor, it has those late 80s/early 90s great practical effects... it's all quite nice.
I watched it with the commentary by Verhoven and Schwarzenegger (the battle of the accents), and it was cool to hear Verhoven talk about all the production and effects while Schwarzenegger helpfully said what was onscreen. Also I changed my mind and now think it was all a dream.
[sup]In related news, I streamed all three of those movies, and as a result of posting a link on /v/ I have been banned from 4chan for a month.[/sup]

There is nothing worse than a commentator who tries to manipulate his voice to sound like a professional speaker with a deep voice. Also it's not funny.

Can you elaborate a bit?
Premium Rush 6.7/10
A bit too cheesy for my taste, otherwise a fun movie.
Heading out to see Django Unchained this weekend. Hopefully seeing Les Miserables sometime afterward as well. After reading reviews and looking up bits and pieces of the story, it's got me interested.
I've seen Django twice so far and I'll probably see it again, seen it in one of the smaller cinemas here cos they have it in 35mm print (only cinema in scotland, only 5 in the UK have it which is awesome) and it looks amazing. Loved it, gonna see it in cineworld if I see it again though since I have an unlimited card and it'd get expensive
but yea it owns
Final destination 1-4
I got all 5 but I cant bring myself to watch the 5th one, it just gets worse and worse.
fd1: 7/10 decent thriller
fd2: 6.5/10 its okay
fd3: 5.5/10 starting to slip
fd4: 5/10 its a fucking landslide
In the first one, the insane circumstances only happened after the first accident, which was completely normal, and that made sense. The rest of them, the original accideent was just as bullshit magical as the rest of them.
Also, I learned that every car explodes on impact with anything, GFI outlets are a lie, and the human skull is made out of jello.
They aren't even creative anymore. Every movie, something drips water on an outlet and frys the whole house, and every other accident, SURPRISE! SOMETHING FLAMMABLE TIPS OVER AND SPILLS!
The first two were alright when I was younger. Liked the starting, bigger accidents.
The later ones are utter shit though

Finally managed to see it while babysitting. Everything about the film is beautiful - the pacing and atmosphere are fantastic for a 'kids' film. Other Mother is one creepy bitch.
9/10
Watch ParaNorman now, same people and really good.
Can you elaborate a bit?
the shorter version is easy to handle, redux is a bit far out and a challenge to watch (i prefer it)

I actually liked the fifth one the most purely because of the twist.
This weekend, both Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty come out in the UK. Which of the two should I go see?

watch The Impossible.
that movie will hit you like a rock.
[editline]22nd January 2013[/editline]
the other 2... aren't really something i'd watch with others.
I actually really love the first one. The fifth one wasn't bad, either.
The rest are pretty bad, though. Especially the fourth one. The second one just felt like a recycled and less interesting version of the first movie.
Alright I guess I'm watching fd5 tonight
Dr. Strangelove - 9/10
I was always unsure if I was going to like it so I just decided to watch it. It was amazing. The humor may not be for everyone though but I quite enjoyed it. Peter Sellers' performances are amazing in his no less than 3(!) roles. Good acting form the others as well. Didn't think Kubrick could pull off such a fine piece of dark comedy especially if you consider the time in which this movie came out.
I can already hear Rusty.
