I'm more offended that you think people actually do not know this
I know many, actually, too many people who look at reviews and take them as facts.
I know many, actually, too many people who look at reviews and take them as facts.
I don't care if you're the fucking KING of moronland with a whole court of noble retards don't go into a film board and tell people basic fucking knowledge, if some dumb idiot takes a person's opinion as a fact it is their problem but they know its an opinion they're acknowledging
Back to the Future 10/10
Still a wonderful Scifi/Comedy that stays fresh even today despite being set in 1985. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd pull off wonderful performances as Marty and Doc. This is one of the huge standards in time travel movies and is recommended to everyone.
I have never watched anyone of those before.
I've only seen the first one.
I've only seen the first one.
I like the first one, not a huge fan of the other two.
back to the future is overrated [editline]26th January 2013[/editline] its good but its not phenomenal like everyone makes out
back to the future is overrated [editline]26th January 2013[/editline] its good but its not phenomenal like everyone makes out
Oh boy this guy
back to the future is overrated [editline]26th January 2013[/editline] its good but its not phenomenal like everyone makes out
I think the big appeal of BTTF is that it hits on so many levels. You get: * Funny mad science * Time-travel * Jokes about how your parents were kids once, too * Goofy teen stuff (i.e. George trying to get a date) * '50s nostalgia * Seeing how "some things never change" * Good music * Different possibilities Lot of good stuff in there.
No I think it's a good movie, it has a lot of broad appeal, but I think that's more of a problem than a selling point. You don't want to cram in too much appeal. I think people like it more because of the 'things in it' rather than the actual movie's plot. Like why people like scott pilgrim because of the video game references, and barely take notice of the plot. except of course back to the future is a billion times better than that piece of shit. but i do feel that bttf is just too, eh. like, it's just a bit too family friendly and 'safe' and broad in it's appeal. it never really quite grabs me in the way other films do. it doesn't have a niche. when they made it they knew they were gonna be getting the appeal of almost everyone. it's always just, like, there. the movie's there and it's playing. it's good, it's made well. but i never really connect to it because of how mass appeal it tries to be. but that's just me
Not all movies are about taking risks there rusty "I don't like it because it is made for everyone and everyone likes it" sounds an awful lot like a hipster
Not all movies are about taking risks there rusty "I don't like it because it is made for everyone and everyone likes it" sounds an awful lot like a hipster
ya its obviously hipster to want a movie with more substance
Not all movies are about taking risks there rusty "I don't like it because it is made for everyone and everyone likes it" sounds an awful lot like a hipster
I don't dislike it because it's made for everyone, it's because it's made for everyone that it doesn't really speak to me. It's not a purposeful thing, it's just how I feel watching it. I was never hugely into the movies even as a kid way before hipsterdom even existed.
Essential Killing (2010): 8/10. I expected more of a war movie, but it's more of a survival film that is actually pretty awesome and it's also beautifully shot.
Hitman - 6.5 / 10
Flight 7/10
Die Hard 9/10 Clue 7.5/10
Reservoir dogs 7,5/10 Aka there will be blood, jesus christ. Good movie, not my favorite Tarantino film though.
the BTTF trilogy is so great. my fav part about it is how it all feel like one entity. with jokes running across all three films, and how there's foreshadowing going on across them. like, how Marty uses the lightgun arcade game in 2, before having to put his lightgun skills to use in 3.
back to the future is overrated [editline]26th January 2013[/editline] its good but its not phenomenal like everyone makes out
I'd say it's on par with The Goonies. Even though that didn't have such a big notice for people, it's in the same pool. Goofiness and fun, by no means anything extraordinary. It's classic that society pretty much grows up on these days. It was definitely creative though. Maybe it will become "outdated" for our lot as more people prefer flashing lights and bitterness than cheesy/goofy comedy. Kind of sad though.
MOON (2009) 10/10 honestly, wow. the soundtrack is amazing. everything about this movie is amazing.
Shame (2011) - 7.5/10 Dicks and tits.
i rate shame 8 fass-weiners out of 10
Training day 7/10 cool prequel to Lord of War

Zero Dark Thirty- 8/10 It's pretty decent. Better than The Hurt Locker which was pretty meh. Her camera-work has certainly improved from that movie. I think Maximilian Uriarte of Terminal Lance fame kinda summed it up for me
My complaints about the film are really about two things: I think the character development was kind of weak. Maya, the lead CIA chick, never really transforms or has any kind of real character arc. (This is actually the biggest complaint I had about The Hurt Locker as well) You don’t really care about her any more at the end of the film as you do at the beginning. As for the other characters, you won’t really give a shit about any of them either, except maybe the other CIA guy that tortures people, he’s pretty boss. A small complaint I also had was that the passage of time in the film is really… odd? I dunno, it’s kind of hard to follow some times, the date will come up, but none of the characters look or act any differently and it all kind of seems like it’s happening in a small timeframe anyway, when in reality it’s going on over the course of like 10 years. Anyway, with those minor complaints I do think Kathryn Bigelow has mostly redeemed herself from The Hurt Locker. Does it rate to already be up for Best Picture in this year’s Academy Awards though? Not at all. Should you see it? Yes.

"I don't like it because it is made for everyone and everyone likes it" sounds an awful lot like a hipster
you know i always wondered why the hipster mentality gets so much shit throwing like I completely understand that people who refuse to see/do/associate with anything popular are morons and deserve to be treated thusly but there is a semblance of truth to the idea that something with a broader and larger audience in mind has a greater chance to suffer in overall quality, especially considering that there aren't many examples that debunk this not saying that all movies with a larger intended audience are shit or anything as banal as that, but I believe that some aspects of the "hipster" mentality are very true to form [editline]a[/editline] looking back on this post hours later, i realize i just said something very fuckin obvious
The Town - 8/10 i think Ben Affleck is a fantastic actor and director
Seven Psychopaths - 7/10 It was quite funny, made me laugh a few times. So I can't not like it!
