The Big Year - 6/10. Just something to watch really. Nothing special. Not complete crap though.
they used real wolves + animatronics so that explains it i guess Princess Mononoke a nice tale coupled with wonderful visuals and music. 8.5/10 Spirited Away. i found the story to be inconsistent and messy. and the little girl and that frog were the only characters i liked. 6.5/10 Twelve Monkeys. v good 8/10 Law Abiding Citizen surprisingly good. really rotten ending though ([sp]how did Foxx get back to the prison so fast?[/sp]) 7/10
law abiding citizen is fuckin terrible dude [editline]25th February 2012[/editline] also i saw the grey i give it a 7.5/10 i liked it. thats all i can be bothered to say
Just got back from Act Of Valor, Jesus Christ that was terrible. I feel like I payed 10$ to watch 2 hours of American propaganda. 3/10
spirited away is better than princess mononoke
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - 9/10 Thoroughly enjoyable, but strange in some parts, seemed to diverge quite a lot.
Finished watching 'never let me go' One of the best movies I've seen, deserves a 9/10. [editline]25th February 2012[/editline]
MI4 was a solid action film, required no brain shutoff.
Ok shitty example but is there any movies which you shut off your brain to enjoy
The Wrestler - 9.5/10 Excellent film, fantastic performance by Mickey Rourke, but the ending was a bit unexpected for me. None the less one of the best films of the decade.
I loved that ending. Gave me goosebumps how he risked his life like that.
Ok shitty example but is there any movies which you shut off your brain to enjoy
nope sorry not a single one exists, if you have to turn your brain off to enjoy a movie then it's a bad movie :)
Spirited Away. i found the story to be inconsistent and messy. and the little girl and that frog were the only characters i liked. 6.5/10
It did seem messy at first for me but the later parts were the best. Plus it isn't a movie for everybody, bunch of my other classmates disliked it. Also doing a Studio Ghibli streak, Howl's Moving Castle is really one of the best movies out there. 9/10
Watched Memento, shit was cre 9/10, how's Insomnia by Nolan?
The original and his remake are equally good it seems
nope sorry not a single one exists, if you have to turn your brain off to enjoy a movie then it's a bad movie :)
IMO you don't really need to use your brain too much to enjoy musicals
Maybe the wording should have been "easy to watch" movies.
IMO you don't really need to use your brain too much to enjoy musicals
you also dont have to switch your brain off to enjoy musicals [editline]25th February 2012[/editline] that's the worst term ever can we stop using the 'switch your brain off' term
If you switch your brain off hard enough you can use the phrase.
Requiem for a Dream 99/10
I can still not get over how hard Requiem for a Dream sucked. It is just so consistently over-the-top and melodramatic that by the end it ends up as both hilarious and offensive at the same time. I've yet to see another movie take such a serious subject and turn into a complete and utter joke.
i feel like we've been over how wrong you are before
Darren Aronofsky is a hack.
sure :)

The plot seemed all over the damn place.
The Muppets Movie - 8/10 Some pretty good laughs in there.

It for damn sure looked pretty though.

It's only you being a sod that breaks your enjoyment.
I thought he was talking about Amadeus for a second. I want to watch Requiem now.
i FINALLY watched the first dirty harry movie. Fucking hell that was badass. I'd give it an 8.999504/10 any of the others worth watching?
Magnum Force is probably just as good, The Enforcer is still alright and worth watching. Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool aren't as good, but they're not too bad. Times like this are when I kind of regret my choice of username when I was 13.
Suit yourself. I loved "The Wrestler", "Black Swan" and especially "Requiem For A Dream". The overall style of those movies are unlike anything you've ever seen. It's so weird, it's great.
The Wrestler is pretty bad though
The Wrestler is pretty bad though
Rourke had heart in that performance.
but the movies message was offensively bad
true, but I guess when you have nothing to live for then you must jump off the top rope. :v:
