I've started watching Twin Peaks. I've just finished the third episode and so far I am really enjoying it. A creepy dancing midget tells me shit is going to get a bit weird from here on in.

I found a series description: "An idiosyncratic FBI Agent investigates the murder of a young woman in the even more idiosyncratic town of Twin Peaks."

twin peaks is ridiculously good. its strange but it makes perfect sense inside the world it creates. don't question the weird shit too much, just roll with it. one of the best shows ever made imo
Watch Hard Candy
bookmarked, need a rest from that topic but thanks.

the thing is about david lynch's stuff and other weird surreal movies like Last Year at Marienbad is that while you can make your own little theories about what really happened or whatever, it's mostly about the mood and emotion a scene can convey so when something really weird happens, don't think about what happened, but how happened or something. i don't know if i'm saying it right.
Immortal (2011)
The fighting scenes are amazingly satisfying. Also, are those bunny-hoping midgets suppose to be titans? I was confused a bit.
There's this speech I really like, where Athena asked Zeus "Peace is when children burry their parents, war is when parents burry their children, are we at war, father?" or something like that.
X-Men: First Class
Enjoyed it.
are jean luc godard's films any good? I have a feeling they may be the one style of movies that are too deep for me.
I'm planning to see Socialisme but i'm scepticle.

Filme Socialisme is for godard supremes only. it'll probably scare you off if you haven't seen any of his stuff.
Some of his stuff's pretty esoteric, but some stuff like Breathless or Bande à Part are pretty fun twists on crime films. they're like proto-tarintino.
Parker 8/10 nothing too special, just another great statham movie
last stand 6.7/10 an alright movie, but more of a comedy than an action movie. What else can you expect from casting knoxville. I liked it
I saw them both in the same theater after buying a parker ticket, and walking into last stand after parker was done.
~so hardcore~

i'll watch Filme Socialisme anyway, I'm just hyped to see what a movie about nothing is really like.
can't be worse than Brown Bunny.

yeah you've said this and now i'll have to investigate.
His name was thrown around a lot when I used to study drama, now I just recall the name and want to see what the fuss is.

David Lynch himself compared his films with music, meaning it's more about the experience then the reason of why things happens.

I certainly hope so, I am trying to get my hands on the series. After watching Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and Mullholland Drive, I am really psyched about Twin Peaks.

tbh you shouldn't treat any other movie differently.
i approach lynch's films in the same way i would any other.

That's just as wrong as saying that books should always be school/learning books, it denies quite a few other interesting genres. If that's what he wants for HIS movies, ok, but please don't make broad statements about a whole medium David.

Pretty sure he was talking about Mulholland Drive, bro.
Please read my post where I said that it was about "HIS" films.
Meh for me movies are meant to be escapism. That can be anything from an experience like 2001 or a dumb comedy like Pineapple Express. Movies don't have to be experiences to be good.
Are any of Sofia Coppola's films worth watching?

And some other films are the opposite of escapism, just reminding you of the crude reality.
Movies can be about anything, but my post wasn't a broad statement about film.
Are any of Sofia Coppola's films worth watching?
Yeah, watch Lost in Translation.
Combat Shock 7/10
Disturbing and intense, but not a very good movie.
Oh my god my local cinema is going to be showing The Iron Giant this weekend. I am so going.
Are any of Sofia Coppola's films worth watching?
they're all good go for it. haven't seen Marie Antoinette but honestly her movies are really serene and good.
Lost in Translation is her opus but I also love Somewhere and Virgin Suicides. Can't wait for her latest one too.
That's actually a really interesting way to look at movies.
I'm thinking about watching a few of David Lynch's films soon, though. I haven't seen any of them and I've graduated high school. I feel like I've missed out, especially on movies like Eraserhead and Naked Lunch.
I was thinking about who would do naked lunch well in contemporary directors, and Gaspar Noe would be poifect
[sp]It's a dying hallucination dream thing. Or symbolic. After getting stabbed in the stomach, collapsing in his car and staying completely still with his eyes wide open for like a whole minute, he's almost definitely not alive.
But I could be wrong. It might be purposefully ambiguous.[/sp]
I never actually thought about that scene in that way. I really got to watch it again.
I was thinking about who would do naked lunch well in contemporary directors, and Gaspar Noe would be poifect
I'm annoyed I've never seen a gaspar noe film. I own irreversible but for some reason subtitles won't work on it so I've not watched it.
Skyfall
Bond/10
[sp]8.5/10[/sp]

oh shit you have to see that shit, it's brilliant if you like to feel unpleasant
crank - 7.5/10
it was pretty okay
Tyrannosaur 9/10
Good Will Hunting 9.5/10
I would give it a 10/10 but that never feels right. I loved Robin Williams' performance, I really felt his emotions and I thought his acting was phenomenal. Damon and Affleck were also top notch.
Twin peak pilot - 9.5/10
where have you been in my life?
