Red State
3/10
Could've been pretty good, but some weird (stupid) decisions made it pretty bad.
I think it went over your head
Red State was fantastic. It kept taking turns that you could never have expected. It's a thrill ride where you never know what's going to happen next. And the end was especially brilliant, very Burn After Readying-y.
No Country For Old Men - 9/10
Fantastic, the Coens' best work alongside Fargo.
Clever and smart without being obnoxious and self-congratulatory, subdued without being dull, simple without being stupid, complex without being gimmicky.
How is it complex? I liked the movie but I also think it's overrated.
Black Swan
9/10. Natalie Portman is fantastic, totally deserved Best Actress! Really looking forward to her next big hit. (and damn she fine!)
The Lion King.
Seriously, I tried watching that movie when I was 4, but I kept prancing and jumping around for the duration of the movie like a retarded kid with ADHD, so that was the first time I ever watched it.
Simple round 10.
Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) 8.2/10
best ending ever
Are there any movie remakes that aren't shit.
Or maybe better than originals.
Nosferatu, but that's very debateable.
Thief of Baghdad, although it's old.
The Departed, again debateable.

The Departed, The Ring (maybe, I haven't seen original), Batman Begins (this counts right?), The Thing (80's John Carpenter version), I'll think of more I'm sure.
Scarface and Casino Royale too.

True Grit was a fine Coen Brothers film
also The Fly.
Thank You For Smoking 9/10
the ending :v:
Also Ocean's 11
Christopher Nolan's Insomnia
I'm going to check out Project X tonight. Hopefully Rusty won't see this post.
How is it complex? I liked the movie but I also think it's overrated.
Its complexities have more to do with what it doesn't show or do than with what it does.
The story itself is fairly simple and easy to follow, it's the writing and certain subtleties that give it depth.
I think depth is the word you should have used before, not complexity
Event Horizon 5/10
Cheap screamer scares all over this shit

Yeah, I fucked up there.

You serious?
How is a video of a crew in an interdimensional hell "cheap screamer".
Sure it had a couple of pop up screams, but the story was unique.
GG Allin was born Jesus Christ Allin
Pontypool - 9/10
I would have rated this movie a 10 had the ending not been so anticlimatic.
Definitely one of the more original movies I've ever seen.
Sounds like a pretty interesting movie. I know I've heard someone talking about that Hated movie before. Wouldn't mind watching it

This is what my very reliable friend said:
"A celebration of homophobia, misogyny, lawlessness, mindlessness and the total absence of empathy, decency, intellect and good taste, Project X is one of the most empty, pointless and disgusting films ever made."

Project X. Very crazy and unpredictable. It was a good representation of what everyone wants but can never have in a party.
Fargo 7/10
don't understand the buzz, and i didn't get the humor. but it was an okay movie
Ruuuusty, here's Gosling in that upcoming Refn movie:

Something different about him. Maybe he really bulked up for this role or something.
