Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 8/10 Kept me watching all the way through, good and entertaining movie overall. Better than expected, that's for sure.
I like this 8/10 chain we have going, I'll add to it with Trigun: Badlands Rumble. Matches the amazing quality of art and writing of the series, but with an improvement on the already-great Madhouse animation that have arisen from its status as a film and from the decade+ of technology improvements. Very good- unmissable if you watched the series. I highly suggest seeing it even if you haven't, or didn't even know the series existed as it still works quite well standing alone. As a side note, watch the series if you haven't, it is fantastic. It sits alongside Cowboy Bebop as an all-time classic. The movie is set about halfway though.
A Separation - 10/10 - Seriously good. Remarkably emotive in spite of not having a soundtrack as well.
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close 9/10
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close 9/10
Are you joking? That movie was fucking terribad.
Wikipedia says it's unclear if he'll direct the next ones, but he's also working on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Uh why would you declare a different director is doing them just because Wikipedia wasn't clear, that's a bit of a jump. Anyways David's done plenty of interviews where he's discussed how he'd handle the sequels so I don't see any reason to doubt it.
Are you joking? That movie was fucking terribad.
Why was it nominated.
because the oscars suck
Lions for Lambs (2007) - 9/10 Really enjoyed this one. Very inspiring.
We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011) - 8/10 Kind of felt as if it dragged a little, at just under 2 hours, but besides that, everything was pretty much great. The way the story unravelled, and that it always kept me asking questions. My precious sad dramas. And yes, thought provoking and all that too, also a plus. I did know the main thing before watching the movie though. I feel like if I didn't know it was coming, it might have been a better experience but oh well.
why haven't i seen GoodFellas yet should I see it? it's always like number 1 on lists and shit...
why haven't i seen GoodFellas yet should I see it? it's always like number 1 on lists and shit...
do it, you can't hate it
Ocean's Eleven - 7/10 Ocean's Twelve - 2/10 One of the worst movies I have ever seen.

The son of no one 1/10. Watched it cause Al Pacino is in it. I normally find something enjoyable or good even in the movies I don't like, but........ BLEEEEERGGG. May just be the worst movie I have ever seen. Even Al Pacino is horrible in this. Please don't go watch this.

Why is up in the air so highly rated?
Why is up in the air so highly rated?
You care way too much about why something is acclaimed. It's all about what intrigues you. Up in the Air is a good movie, but nowhere near Clooney's best role. It's a decent mainstream movie, nothing more.
How's the Descendants? Anyone recommend it?
How's the Descendants? Anyone recommend it?
Looks average
Looks average
How helpful
Exit Through the Gift Shop. 8/10 or so. Pretty cool movie. I wiki'd it for shits after and learned that a lot of people think that the Mr. Brainwash character is/was created by Banksy, which blew my mind. I'm not entirely convinced either way, but I think that the whole thing is an interesting take on street art and its commodification.
Looks average
i asked for an opinion from somebody who actually watched it.
The Wizard of Oz- 10/10 In my top 10 favorite movies of all time. Anyone who wants to get into special effects needs to watch this movie. It's over 70 years old and there are still a lot of special effects they use in this movie that make you scratch your head and wonder how they did made it happen. Other than being visually dazzling, the movie makes you feel like a 5 year old kid when you watch it. It doesn't talk down to you, but it takes you on an experience that you won't forget. The characters are more than memorable, the acting is convincing, the special effects blow my mind at how good they are for the time and most of all, it's just a timeless movie.
Also, the overture wins
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 8.5/10 Badass.
How's the Descendants? Anyone recommend it?
I've heard that it is good but drags on a bit.
according to half in the bag, it's a movie that your mother would love
shane, classic cowboy movie, kind of lost its lustre over time, but it's definitely a solid film 8/10
