i think Drive has a shitty storyline, but everything else is just too perfect
i think Drive has a shitty storyline, but everything else is just too perfect
ye the plot is something that has been done a hundred times, but i wouldn't really say it's a con, nor "shitty"
as it isn't plot itself that is important, but rather how it's executed.
kill bill and max payne (the games not the film!) got typical revenge-plots but are still great because of their own distinctive style, characters, narrative and so forth. same goes for Drive.
i think Drive has a shitty storyline, but everything else is just too perfect
It's not shitty at all, how can you say that
simple doesn't mean bad. it engages you in the moment, it doesn't need to be complex for it to be good. it's the way the story's told that matters. and it's superbly told in Drive, as well as being fantastically directed and acted and just about everything else too.
John Carter - 7.5/10
It was better than I was expecting it to be but it wasn't really anything special.
i think Drive has a shitty storyline, but everything else is just too perfect
I wouldn't call it shitty. Unoriginal perhaps but most certainly not shitty.
Doom- 6/10 Still the only video game movie that I can sit down and enjoy to some extent.
it wouldn't have been so bad if the action scenes were not so confusing. It was god fucking frustrating not being able to see ass when they were fighting monsters. too dark and edited like a bag of shit. fuck

Yes, that's what i wanted to say, The way the story unfolds is amazing, but the story itself is crap
The crumchumber
Some twisted shit.
I don't really know, but i think i would give it a 7.
There is really no point, oh well there is about this neighboorhood but really things are very random until the end.
7/10
Winter's Bone 7/10
It was nice but kinda not too interesting
Jack and Jill- 1/10
Family made me watch it because it's "part of being a family".
Everyone except for me and my brother loved it.
I feel for you, my mom made us watch that shitty D&D movie as kids, the one with that one Wayans brother.
though Jeremy Irons was hilariously over the top and awesome.
Dungeons & Dragons fucking rules.
LET THEIR BLOOD RAIN FROM THE SKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
Enough ham to solve world hunger.
Nah, that's definitely a so bad that it's just bad movie.
The only thing watchable in that movie is Jeremy Irons, for obvious reasons.
Just my opinion, I guess. I gave it a 6 because it fucked up the whole "monsters from hell" storyline and had some pretty cheesy dialogue, among other things.
As far as action horror movies go, it was alright.
It's pretty laughable you can't deny it.
[editline]11th March 2012[/editline]
will watch "The Last Samurai"
The Woman in Black (finally) - 8.5/10, maybe a 9
It sets the mood just right. It doesn't get cheesy, and most of the scares aren't cheap [sp]though some of them are more than obvious[/sp]. The movie made a few cliches become more tolerable, because it was just so good. I'm also glad to see that Daniel Radcliffe can be someone else other than Harry Potter, I'm looking forward to seeing more of his movies.
The ending wasn't the best thing ever, but I guess it was better than I thought it would be
They made us watch the old Woman in Black movie back when I was about 13 in school and it scared the shit out of most of the class. I want to see this new one but i'm probably going to wait for it to be out on blu-ray.
The plot is fairly simple, though. don't expect any incredible twists or revelations.
the actual theatre version was amazing. seen it twice with real set/actors. The effects/lighting were damn haunting too.
I'm just not too sure if they could capture that essence in the movie, but I'll check it out.
wait so the woman in black is a remake?

yo your family is stupid
wait so the woman in black is a remake?
it's a remake of a remake.

The old one was a TV movie.
Still a movie, not inferior if it's not theatrical.
Winter's Bone 7/10

I liked this movie quite a bit. I was kinda suckered in with the cute leading actress. Plus, John Hawkes is in it. Motherfucking Kenny Powers' brother and shiat.
The Gaurd 8/10
pretty funny and weird
Cinema Verite 9/10
-with Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini(Tony Soprano). What's not to like about that?
Just in case any of you was wondering if you should get the Studio Ghibli Collection, i bought one the other day and its a nice collection having 2 movies on each disk does make the video suffer every once in awhile. But the worse thing about it is the case. All of the disk fall right out of the thing and there all stacked on top of each other. Other than that its a nice collection but it doesnt include Ponyo.
Does anybody know of any good places to buy DVD cases that hold 6 disk?
In Bruges - 10/10
Still as good as I remember. I love how the humor doesn't really "blend" with the sad parts, death scenes are dark and funny scenes are funny, it switches from one to another so suddenly, and it's one of the things that, IMO, make this movie so unique (don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's never been done before). [sp]Ken's death scene[/sp] is one of the saddest scenes I've ever seen, and the [sp]cocaine[/sp] one is one of the funniest. Great acting by Brendan Gleeson (gonna watch "The Guard" next because of him), Collin Farrell and pretty much everyone else, though I specially liked Jordan Prentice.
Still one of my top 10 favorites
Yes, that's what i wanted to say, The way the story unfolds is amazing, but the story itself is crap
the story itself is not crap i explained this

Is that the thing off amazon? That always seemed like a bootleg to me
Anyways speaking of Studio Ghibli I watched the other movie I ordered, Porco Rosso. Watched the english dub and it was okay. Michael Keaton was in it (and Christian Bale was in Howl's Moving Castle). I'd say Porco is a solid 9 if only because it wasn't the grand adventure that some of his films are. Those are the best.
