My brother keeps telling me how great Tower Heist is, and I keep telling him not to recommend movies to me anymore.
its not great, its full of cheap (and cringe worthy) jokes and the acting is far from good, but I wont lie, I laughed at it
take shelter, 7/10
a bit slow, but in a sort of good way. i think.
21 Jump Steet: 7/10.
Not such high expectations going in, but I laughed my ass off. Good watch, it was free though.
Went on vacation and saw my fair share of movies on planes and in the theater.
Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn- 8/10 Really enjoyable.
Super 8- 7.5/10
Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1: 2/10 It was one of the in-flight movies. It's the best of the franchise, but still god-awful.
Goon: 8/10 A lot better than I was expecting. A nice theater visit.
Tower Heist: 2.5/10 I didn't laugh once. I found myself bored while watching it very often.
Jack and Jill: 2/10 one of the in-flight movies coming home. On top of having a 3 year old kicking my seat all 3 hours of the trip, watching this film was a fucking nightmare.
Yeah, after Jack and Jill people had no hope for Adam Sandler, I think he's awesome. But he shouldn't have done that movie. Hopefully in that new movie "That's My Boy", he will redeem himself. But you can't beat the days of Happy Gilmore and Bill Madison. :(
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Fincher Remake) - 8/10
I enjoyed this a lot, even if the pacing was a bit crap. Not sure how it compares to the original Swedish version, I've yet to watch it.
Also, I think I'm the only one who really hated that Led Zeppelin cover of Immigrant Song at the start, fuck that was bad.
Going to see "The Secret World of Arriety" tomorrow.
I heard that was very good, but I'm not into movies like that.
The Muppets - 9/10
Pleasantly surprised, this movie was actually pretty funny which surprised me because usually only dark comedies manage to make me laugh.
fight club - 8/10
first saw this in grade 7 -- really got under my skin. thank god i snapped out of that phase
still has that awesome feel to it though, the one that other movies just can't seem to catch
The Wave 8/10 - The fact it's based off a true story is crazy.
Memento 10/10 - I have never seen the movie despite having it for several years. Finally watched it after finding it. Why did I wait so long to watch is beyond me.
Fantastic Mr. Fox - 8.5/10
One of the best animated movies I've seen in a long time. A lot of lovable characters, really snappy dialogue, and a really nice art style.
No that's just you failing to use your brain.
The characters have depth are you nuts? Kiriyama has no backstory in the film whatsoever, nor does Fumiyo or a ton of other characters. Go read the novel, it's a million times better.
no it's a poorly put together movie with a good concept and cast. i understood it, i mis-stated that i didn't. it just didn't flow right.
as for BR: the characters don't have depth, that's one thing i can agree with. but the impact of their fates and everything did have an effect on me because the first time i watched it i was in high school so i could really relate and put myself in their position. the movie was fucking harrowing the first time i watched it. being extremely high at the time helped too.

the thing i HATE the most about fight club is the immature part of the fanbase that thinks the movie's message is: ANARCHY IS GOOD, YOU ARE A HUMAN CONSUMER SLAVE LEAD TO BELIEVE LIES AND YOU MUST REBEL EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME.
no, fuck you, the movie is about balance. you shouldn't be a consumer whore, but you also shouldn't be some mindless wannabe psychopathic anarchist either. there are no absolutes (black and white morality) and life is full of subjectivity.
War of the Worlds(remake) 7/10
I liked it, save for the damn little girl and her brother, the scene on the hill where the army is fighting back was spectacluar, but the ending kinda killed it as it felt like it was just thrown in. Which sucked
Terminator Savlation - 6.8/10
Flags Of Our Fathers - 7/10
Letters From Iwo Jima - 9.5/10
21 Jump Street - 8/10
The first half of the film is pretty terribly put together. It feels like the each scene is just sort of thrown together to be able to get away with some quick, cheap jokes. But into the second half the plot and jokes themselves become more coherent and more entertaining. Overall, a fun film that will get you to laugh a few times and laugh your ass off once or twice.

Oh I see. I dunno, I found no qualms with it. How would you have put it together? I'm not being argumentative when I ask that, just curious.
Honestly i can't remember that much, i might actually rewatch it.
it felt to impersonal, skipped around to much, some things are way to understated just because the film is over saturated. maybe it could have been longer.
[editline]17th March 2012[/editline]
also tree of life
10/10
pretty much had the same effect enter the void had on me. if i could describe it to anyone it's like a PC-pg-13 version of enter the void. it's much more user friendly in many ways. It lacks all the depravity and shit.

I used to like that movie.
Then I became a fan of Jeff Wayne's musical based on the same book.
Now I can't even watch the movie anymore.

The Next Three Days 8.5/10, worth a watch.
Robin Hood 2010 - 7/10
Quite liked it. Russel Crowe is one of the few male actors I have somewhat of a mancrush on so that helped. The characters were nicely portraited and humourous and Mark Strong played a good bad-guy.
I hated the newest Robin Hood, the story was way too silly, it almost felt like a kid's movie
I never felt like anyone was in danger, because pretty much every character we knew survived

There were posters and shit all over Nottingham when that film was coming out. It put me off seeing it because they were making such a big deal over it.
Taxi Driver - 7/10
finally will watch Lawrence of Arabia.
Unknown (2011)

7/10, pretty good movie overall...
I couldn't help laughing a little bit when Bruno Ganz was on screen... "Dammit Liam, that's Hitler! Get outta the room!"
Unknown was kind of poor imo. Liam is always good to watch, but he's the only reason to see that movie.

I loved it. I couldn't quit laughing at the part where the lady sees him in the mall (shoe store) and he says she was trying to touch his dick. Omfg, that was hilarious.
Road to Perdition 9/10
amazing, simply amazing
and Thomas Newman doing the music just makes it perfect. recommended to everyone
Liam fucking Neeson, making low quality movies worth watching.
The Devil Inside 0/10
I didn't want to go see this film but I did because it was mothers day. I knew it was going to be a bad film but holy fuck it just took the cake. Hell, I even enjoyed the paranormal activity movies to some extent at the cinema, but this was boring, predictable and took a shit all over you with the ending. The scariest bit in it was a dog who's bark was amp'd up to scare the shit out of you with a loud noise when you're least expecting it. Can't believe this shit got into cinemas anywhere.
