I haven't seen LOTR and have them on DVD.
Not ashamed. :smug:
Watch the first one as soon as possible.
extended or non-extended or re-extended?
All of them.
this is not a good argument he is disgustingly unfunny and and probably the most annoying person ive ever seen
Have you seen his nostalgia critic review for Howard The Duck? Do you really think it could be reviewed any other way?
The Matrix Reloaded reminded me of the differences between Alien (The Matrix) and Aliens. More action with much more unfavorable odds compared to suspense and building knowledge of the universe. And just like the Alien movies I enjoyed both a lot for their differences.
The Fly (1986)
8/10
Great story, great actors but most importantly, amazing effects.
The transition from man to fly was really well made, and the animatronics were more convincing than any CGI, wish hollywood would use more of it these days.
Special effects in all of David Cronenberg's 80s/90s films are top of the line.
I've had a disliking for CGI ever since I've seen Videodrome, it just comes off as lazy and unconvincing in comparison to quality animatronics.

The Departed - 8/10
Quality film, easily on par with Infernal Affairs.
I like CGI when done right
quoting the AVGN, "The problem with CGI is not that it's bad, but it's just so overused"
[editline]27th March 2012[/editline]
I'd love to see a modern movie with animatronics, though.
A modern animatronic horror movie. Now that'd be something.
perhaps a homage to movies with animatronics, like the artist was to silent movies?
What the fuck dude.
David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Now I'm not the one who holds back from seeing a movie because of a said premise, in fact I didn't have a clue what it was about until a few days ago a friend told me how they would not see it because it's "just about a hacker girl".
I told him that he was bullshitting, saw the movie and was correct.
This is intense.
The casting of the main lot was pretty solid, Craig is probably the only person who played James Bond who is pretty flexible to carry other character performances. This is close to his best.
Fincher's style is prominent and makes the movie all the more gripping, but even though I have not seen the original, I feel there is more to be got out of the character.
That's just my initial feeling.
2 and a half hours is a long stretch, and emotionally we only see the Girl take on 3 emotional stages, the beginning, when she meets Craig and works with him, and after they're accomplished.
There's a lot about her idiosyncratic character that I liked a lot, but I felt screen time was pushed for the "detective" sections which didn't quite do much for me seeing as I've watched "12 Angry Men" and "JFK".
All in all.. I rate this mid-highly, but I plan on seeing how the Swedes pulled this off. It might be more authentic, but I'll give it a week or two before I see it.
I loved the film, now if you haven't read the books imagine the intensity captured in a book.
Sin City-9/10
A very interesting combination of detective noir, modern gangster movies, and superheros. All three of the stories play off well, very odd, and very well done. The color effects are great.
V for Vendetta - 8/10
It took a little long to get to the point and the story meandered a bit too much but once things started to come together I really enjoyed it.
Again, that's his character. He obviously doesn't act like that normally.
youre not quite understanding me... his character is an unfunny abysmal cunt
anyone that comes up with such a horrible and unfunny character must also be an abysmal cunt

i think you should hold the phone
there's nothing wrong with comedy reviews. redlettermedia have some of the best
but the nostalgia critis are easily the worst, most cringeworthingly unfunny of all comedy reviews.
Street Kings - 3/10
p bad.

"Since when has Rue been a nigger"
Holy shit, you fucking asshole.
battle royale (because of all the hunger games hype) - alright/10
the main thing that really bothered me with the film is that exchange student douche (kiriyama i think) had unlimited bullets for the gun he had. i saw him reload once in the entire movie, while spraying the fuck out of everything
Anchorman - 13/10
If you do not like this movie you are neither American nor human, you communist monster.

i don't really think anyone reloaded. maybe three times in the whole movie

Well I guess I'm a communist monster because I can't stand Will Ferrell.
Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan.
This movie was pretty fierce. Some call it frightening but I call it intense, once you really get to grips with what she has to do within her mind to get her dark out of her, what results is really good.
If anything, I'm amazed I enjoyed it this much.. after seeing Hugo and not really being thrilled, this gives me a boost. Probably a better experience that year than The King's Speech, that's the honest opinion.

The Wrestler is fantastic, albeit a little more "human" than his other movies but thinking about it there's nothing really abnormal about his movies.
I like his movies usually but The Wrestler and Pi are not good

I'm not too sure whether most of the thrill went into realising I was a wrestling fan as a kid, as most were. But it's probably more due to do with Mickey Rourke being a broken actor at the time.
In my honest truth, I don't think what he did in that movie was acting.
jesus I didn't watch enough stop jumping shit at me god damn
