The Truman Show - 10/10
this was one of my childhood favorites.
caused me some paranoia. pretty much everywhere i went even if it was in the privacy of my own home i tried fuck hard to be normal as shit for the longest time.
then i just forgot about it.
Saw Cowboys & Aliens and Juno on a plane. I'd give both a meh
Cowboys & Aliens felt like a really generic action movie that combined the cliches of a western with the cliches of a Sci-Fi movie. Total waste of Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig.
Juno just annoyed me. It felt like it was trying way too hard to be quirky and the dialogue was just cringe-worthy. I would have hated it completely if it wasn't for some of the supporting actors like J.K. Simmons and Jason Bateman. Story itself was decent though.
90s movies are the best
I would've liked Juno a lot more if it wasn't one of Michael Cera's typecasting performances. Between that and Superbad, by early '08 everyone knew him as the kid who could act slightly awkward in any situation.
How's American Gangster?
now i think about it, Russell crow has been in alot of gangster/crime related movies
It's good. It's not really much of an "epic" gangster, but very good all the same. Denzel is awesome.

Every decade has its greatness.

Ellen Page was also really annoying, although not as bad as Cera. She can play good normal roles like in Inception but in this they really strained all the hipsterness they could out of her and all her lines were just painful to listen to.
Despite the teenage garbage, I liked Juno. Now this comment would make no sense because the entire movie is about "teenage garbage".
But when the movie places heart before dumbness, then it becomes pretty good.
I think if they didn't have Michael Cera and rewrote the dialogue completely then it would've been good.
juno is horrible

I suppose that's as good a reason as any, really.
Between Cera and Page, wow. That's just too much hipster for one movie, at least for me.
juno is horrible
100% fact because rusty said it
The only thing I remember about Juno is the song at the end.
And that's annoying as hell :v:.

Juno was absolute garbage. Fuck who acted in it or how they acted. It is the biggest movie ever to take a pro life shit all over the silver screen.
Crank - 6/10
It was silly.
Crank - 6/10
It was silly.
That's a bit of an understatement.
Crank - 6/10

crank is honestly just brilliant, and way too underrated
Crank - 6/10

That's kinda what they went for. I found it a movie that provides a good time, especially with friends.
Crank - 6/10

That's the entire point doughnut.
I loved watching Crank. 9/10 from me.
crank is honestly just brilliant, and way too underrated
it's good, but certainly not underrated
Crank - 6/10

i think if you just don't count crank 2 crank 1 is awesome.
even though crank 2 was awesome, it over did it to the point where you just can't anymore, it jumped the shark at some point or over a period of time during the movie.
juno is horrible
That whole fucking movie is annoying.
Hey, it was silly, but i liked.
But giving that movie 9/10, it's just to much for me.
I don't even know why you'd watch Juno if you're not intrigued by it. Explain why you'd choose to watch it other than "the ratings were good".
The only reason I watched it is because the other movies the director made were good.
My point being, most reasons why I enjoy most of the movies I watch, is that I made the choice to watch them. If someone wants to recommend something, I'm welcome to hearing about it. Doesn't mean I'm eager to jump at it unless I feel that I need to see it.
I've held off watching The Social Network for the sole reason of not FEELING like needing to see it, but then I realise I'm regretting doing that. So in time I'll give it a watch.
Akira
I'm not sure what I thought of this movie.
Animation was great and the story was absolutely fascinating.
However, I felt that much was left unexplained, for better or for worse.
I'm going to have think about this movie for a bit before I can give it a score.
wild hogs (in spanish)
8/10, its a lot funnier if you dont understand what they are on about
That whole fucking movie is annoying.
once you get past the angsty teenage part of your life your rating of the movie will drop considerably.
Just watched 21 Jump Street last night with a girl-friend... I've got to say, that movie totally surprised me in that it was actually one of the funniest of its kind that I've seen in ages. I think it might have just been the combination of Channing Tatum (big idiot) and Jonah Hill (fat stubby smart ass) that did so well. The jokes weren't crude for the sake of being crude, and it's one of those few "X or Y goes back to High School" movies that isn't afraid to punch people in the face, curse every second word and show some gore, it's great.
Probably the best bit for me was when the [sp]coach got his dick shot off and tried to pick it up with his mouth because he was handcuffed, but dropped it again, all the while the guys are jumping around him laughing and shit because they 'saved the day'.[/sp]
Great movie, 8/10.
