k we're watching The Flowers Of War if you want to come watch http://www.livestream.com/nginscrap
Is there much difference between that and city of life and death?
no [sp]The ending was basically david lynch saying fuck you because the show was cancelled before it could meet it's 'vision' (which was basically a never ending mystery show where nothing is actually solved) - it was on its death throes and the second season is pretty awful anyway. The first season was good though.[/sp]
wow fuck i almost read the entire spoiler by quoting this post. so it's not a brilliant ending? should I stop watching it? i can barely watch the second chapter without falling asleep.
I'm going to see Battleship tomorrow, I'm not expecting anything, just to kill time and eat popcorn and shoot some b-ball.
Mr. Nobody 10/10 I... I dont even know.
Mr. Nobody 10/10 I... I dont even know.
I had the same reaction after watching it for the 4th time.
going to see cabin in the woods tonight
watched God Bless America I liked it, the movie itself was presented well and although it did get a bit silly at times the premise was pretty good 7-8/10
going to see cabin in the woods tonight
holy shit, everyone needs to see this right now.
I re-watched The Naked Gun for about the 50th time 9.5/10 For what it is meant to be and what it gives us, a silly comedy about cops, it is hilarious and I laugh every time I see it. One of the best parts of this film is that there is never a scene where there's no joke. You discover something new in a scene every time you watch it. Leslie Neilsen is very funny, and it is one of the best comedies ever IMO.
holy shit, everyone needs to see this right now.
Seeing it tonight, with D-BOX.
Saw God bless America the other day, gotta admit that it was pretty terrible. Super was 10x better then that.
I'm eager to know why it was bad
Sherlock Holmes (2009) - 7/10 Enjoyed it, it was entertaining. Wasn't brilliant but it was a cool story.
k saw battleship popcorn was more interesting than the movie as expected i liked the popcorn but it ran out and i didnt even have to go to toilet as usual
I watched War Horse last night. Easily a 10/10 I had to hold the tears in at least twice because I was watching with my dad, but I couldn't contain the smile on my face during happy moments
Johnny English Reborn 8/10 I thought the Rolls Royce Phantom with the V16 was really cool, but it turned out to be the less likable coupe version. And it isn't one of my "most favourite movies of all time",but I still liked it.
I didn't like Johnny English Reborn that much, but I think that some of the scenes were pretty genius, mainly the parkour chase one
ive watched 5 films in the past ~24 hours here we go Drive (2011) 9/10 stylish as fuck and although being excessively violent it was done in an almost beautiful way, Ryan Gosling was great in it, loved the 80s feel the whole thing had to it as well. The music, the restaurants, etc fantastic. It's more style than substance, but it really is great Kill Bill (2003) 8/10 watched this for the second time, it's good, I like that it's basically a homage to so many different styles and genres of film and blends them all pretty well but it almost feels amateur, you can tell it's a total experiment for Tarantino, it's like he's just messing about seeing what happens because he thinks it's cool. Which is probably what he did, and it makes the film original and unique but while it adds to the film sometimes it can take away some stuff. Escape From New York (1981) 7, 7.5/10 Kurt Russell's good in it, Snake Plissken is an awesome character and it's a cool film, plagued with the low budget problems so many 80s action films faced. But I wouldn't really put it in with what most people think of in an 80's action movie, this film is actually quite subtle throughout. Cabin in The Woods (2012) 9/10 Went to see this in the cinema today, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I went in knowing pretty much nothing of it, I thought it would be something pretty similar to Evil Dead. Goddamn I was wrong! (although I'm pretty sure there's several Evil Dead references.) But yeah this was fantastic, seriously original and a bit crazy. Loved it a lot. The Big Lebowski (1998) 8/10, seen this before, pretty hilarious, and a classic Coen brothers ridiculous story with everything getting out of hand and stuff. Always a good watch.
The Wackness 7.5/10 I liked this movie a lot. The characters all had depth to them, and you felt bad for them when appropriate.
Star Trek (2009) - 7 Quite liked it. Not having seen the Star Trek series some things went by me, which I was OK with. The action was pretty good and special effects were quite stunning. As is with movies like these, there were some moments that made me roll my eyes but beside that quite an enjoyable movie.
Saw God bless America the other day, gotta admit that it was pretty terrible. Super was 10x better then that.
super is awful
There will be blood: 7.5/10 I enjoyed how the directors showed showed how an honest, hardworking man could become a horrible, selfish person in only a matter of a couple of weeks. I did feel like the film was a bit confusing to follow at times and I think some of the characters needed more back-story.
Safe House 6/10 Overall I enjoyed it. It was slow to take off, and the plot twists were very easy to predict, but it wasn't bad.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 8/10 Best film of the quadrilogy IMO.
super is awful
it's not fucking incredible, but for sure it's not awful
Nice to see someone who doesn't praise Raiders to hell and back. I love the trilogy, but to be honest, Raiders is my least favorite. Mostly because Temple of Doom was the first one that I watched. Last Crusade is and always will be my favorite.
Last Crusade is my overall favorite, but in no way is Raiders the least favorite. If anything Temple of Doom is in last, and Crystal Skulls is just forgotten completely.
The Cabin in the Woods 8/10 It was very original, and if you like horror movies -- you will like this one! [editline]14th April 2012[/editline] Go see it!
super is awful
Super is fantastic and probably one of the best films of 2011 [editline]15th April 2012[/editline] certainly one of my favourites
it's not fucking incredible, but for sure it's not awful
i find it hard to particularly enjoy movies where none of the characters are likable or relatable in any way, and actually somehow get worse with the progression of time, leaving me to wonder at the end if they were supposed to be so or not [sp]i would have been completely cool with it if there were some comeuppance for his psychopathic choices. but there wasn't. ellen page takes a bullet to the head, but she'd already established herself as even crazier with the rape scene so i was glad to have her gone. his motives are even justified around that time too, when they haphazardly shove in the scene where kevin bacon sells liv tyler to the drug lord. frank doesn't get the girl back, but he expresses that it's a positive thing.[/sp]

Obviously not to the same extent but still. [sp]Also, his face for most of the criminal beatdown montage is priceless.[/sp]
