The Avengers - 9.5/10 Dear God, what a movie. Everything was brilliant; the humour, the action, the characters. The story was pretty awesome aswell. The only little thing that didn't add all that much in my eyes were The Black Widow and Hawkeye. The comicbook lovers might disagree with me but I didn't find them adding much to the team of superheroes.
watched all these in the last few days: Hoop Dreams, The Piano, One False Move, Leaving Las Vegas. All awesome and all have heart. if you like basketball, muted character/romance, thriller, drunkard romance movies then see these.
Can't believe I missed a basketball movie, gonna find it now! The Grey 9/10 I have a weakness for adventure and survival movies in nature. edit: Ah I see it's a documentary, that's cool though. Going to watch it soon. One of the things I really liked while visiting the US was how much sports is ingrained in their culture, way more than where I'm from.
I like Godfather more, but would rather watch Goodfellas. One is just more personal and more emotion provoking where as the other I watch because it's vibrant and can be seen in any mood. Both make me feel like I'm at home anyway. :) [editline]27th April 2012[/editline]
Can't believe I missed a basketball movie, gonna find it now!
It's a lot more than just about basketball, Coach Carter seems like a disgrace against the real heart in Hoop Dreams. It's pretty amazing how it got made too, it documents their life from initial realisation of their skill and dealing with family/racial/psychological/drug issues. It doesn't REALLY require you to love basketball, because it is a life experience that you're watching. You feel as though you're with these people and it hurts and also invigirates that these guys were determined.
The Avengers - 8.5/10 As not much of a comic fan or too good relation to all of the characters in this movie, it wasn't as special to me, but I still found it to be a really good movie. It had a nice amount of action, drama and some light-hearted humor blended in as well, and the acting was good in my eyes too.
Cabin in the Woods I can't even rate this movie because of the last 5 minutes that ruined everything. i really hope that ive missed a secret scene after the credits or something im giving it a 8/10 up until the end, and a 2/10 after [editline]27th april 2012[/editline] alright alright it was all in all worth a 8/10 so many references ive missed, god damn
Pandorum: 7.5/10 I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I didn't even see the 'twist', or whatever you wanna call it, coming at the end of the movie. And now I also know what the fuck I'm looking at whenever the movie's poster pops up on IMDB.
The Green Mile: 9/10. I really really enjoyed it. Very emotional movie.
Hanna. 2nd Time watching. 9/10 Really solid film with a brilliant soundtrack.
Evangelion 2.22 Holy mother fuck. 10/10 That was some crazy shit, I loved it throughout. I highly recommend it!
Win Win (2011) 9/10 Heart-warming story, very funny, extremely well acted. Loved it.
Chronicle 9/10 Some of the scenes were a bit cliche but the story was pretty fucking good. Probably the most enjoyable movie of 2011. [sp] Poor Andrew :( [/sp]
Just watched CHE Part 1: The Argentine 8/10 Fucking brilliant movie. Shame its hardly heard of. Very well filmed, dialogue was great, and characters introduction was good. And the sets as well
In time, I'll have to get the 4 hours and watch that.
Harry Brown(2009) 7/10 Awesome film and Michael Caine is amazing through out, i urge people to watch this film just to see how much of a bad ass he is in it.
I'm intrigued to see it, but the director isn't exactly... worthy to make such a film. Not sure if that sounds right, what did you feel was good about it?
"worthy"? Have you not fucking seen Traffic?
only his Oceans and Solaris remake.
Ah, yeah I'd make the same call. Traffic was an almost universally acclaimed film directed by Soderbergh, won him the academy award for best director. [editline]28th April 2012[/editline] Del Toro stars in that too.
The Last Airbender (I'm a fan of the series and watched it for the first time) 1/10
shyamalana must feel his movies are declining.. he must
The Last Airbender (I'm a fan of the series and watched it for the first time) 1/10
I'm also a fan of the series. Tried to watch the movie but I couldn't stand 10 minutes.
I think Hanna has a great story but it was so poorly executed, felt awkward to watch
I've seen people posting t.v shows here so what the heck. Cowboy Bebop Episode 1 - 9/10 The most stylish thing I have ever seen. That soundtrack. That fight scene.
I've seen people posting t.v shows here so what the heck. Cowboy Bebop Episode 1 - 9/10 The most stylish thing I have ever seen. That soundtrack. That fight scene.
just wait until you finish the series, and then watch the movie.
Well I caved in and watched the Hunger Games since I read all the books a while ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. I mean it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but I was pretty happy with how it it came out since most books end up being awful movies. 7.5/10
The Right Stuff (1983): 7.5/10
I've seen people posting t.v shows here so what the heck. Cowboy Bebop Episode 1 - 9/10 The most stylish thing I have ever seen. That soundtrack. That fight scene.
Easily the best show I've ever watched. I own all Cowboy Bebop OSTs too.
a perfect getaway - 8/10 very good movie, timothy olyphant should be in more films
Avengers Assemble - 9/10 Best action flick of the decade, surpasses Ghost Protocol on every level. [editline]29th April 2012[/editline] Also Tom Hiddleston gave an absolutely brilliant performance as Loki.
