Evil Dead II (1987) 9.5/10 every time Ash is a way cooler character in this with a significantly improved haircut compared to the first I'm still not sure which Evil Dead I prefer, 1 or 2. I just think 2 is the perfect horror after like half way, but Evil Dead 2 is great in its own right for slightly different reasons. Ash losing grip on his sanity and stuff's done really really well and the budget's obviously improved which helps but still idk i will say they are equal and both amazing gonna watch army of darkness again tonight lol (im rewatching them all)
Drive - 9/10 I see what all the fuss is about. Managed to set itself apart from revenge thrillers.
I have never given a 10/10 before. This is my first 10/10 in the history of all my movie-watching. And I'm a huge movie enthusiast. I've seen and reviewed a lot of movies for the newspaper. My first 10/10 goes to the Norwegian movie 'Hodejegerne' (Headhunters) Amazing movie. Find one with English subtitles and watch it now.

It didn't really have anything groundbreaking or emotional, it was just an action movie with a decent plot.
I loved it, I haven't felt suspense like that in years. Though my pulse may also have jumped as I watched it while training. :v:
Saving Private Ryan 10/10 I always thought it was quite cool to be in the military, with awesome camo and awesome rifles and all that shit, but this movie punched me in the face and made me open my eyes to see what war is actually like.

Evil Dead III: Army Of Darkness (1992) 8/10 Not as good as the first 2, I think that it focuses too much on slapstick and its cause and effect is totally weak as well as there being lots of continuity errors (honestly I'm surprised they didn't go back and fix a lot of them) but it's still a good action movie, and Bruce Campbell is fantastic in it. Some pretty good humour but the lack of gore is kind of disappointing, and the stop motion isn't as good in this as it was on the other two (probably because of the significantly larger scale) [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] Also I've got a limited edition boxset version which contains the original ending, which is [sp] at the end when Ash takes the potion to go back something disturbs him and he takes 7 drops instead of 6, going 700 years into the future instead of 600 to find it a post-apocalypse, which I thought was a cool idea but tbh I like the other ending, because for one thing it leaves it open for a sequel! :v: [/sp] Ash Williams is definitely long overdue for some deadite slaying. I know Sam and Bruce are currently working on a remake instead but Sam Raimi has some of the script for 4 written which I'm looking forward to even if it won't appear for many years, assuming it does actually appear. In the mean time I'll stick with the Evil Dead 4 my friend and I came up with which genuinely works we'll just hire Bruce Campbell when we get the money and make it I guess~

It took you that long to realize that?

Saving Private Ryan is the war movie that opened your eyes to the horrors of it all? Jesus Christ. You better never watch Band of Brothers, All Quiet on the Western Front, Platoon, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, or Letters from Iwo Jima.
Smoking Aces 8/10 Really under-rated I get why people get pissed off with the ending but to me it just made the whole film even better.
Saving Private Ryan 10/10 I always thought it was quite cool to be in the military, with awesome camo and awesome rifles and all that shit, but this movie punched me in the face and made me open my eyes to see what war is actually like.
Honestly the only films out there which show war for what it really is, is the documentary's and books released by journalists (preferably third party or independent) I know a few friends who are in the (British) military and honestly, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Band of Brothers really over-dramatize I THINK it is. From what I've read, heard and seen the Military is just a career choice and most of it is just standing around in boiling weather, chatting with friends and guarding shit. The action is apparently over really fast and you get a huge adrenaline rush so you dont really think about whats happening around you. Then again we are talking about different time period were our soldiers are more mentally trained and professional and I have zero experience on hand.
Adam Sandler no
Adam Sandler isn't always bad only on 99% of his movies
The Black Book. 9.5/10 Fucking awesome movie. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
Adam Sandler isn't always bad only on 99% of his movies
Happy Gilmore, Billy Madision, Mr. Deeds, Grown-Ups, and Anger Management were pretty good movies. Not nessacarily movie of the year, but pretty good none-the less. Especially Happy Gilmore.

Punch-Drunk Love is the best Adam Sandler movie ever, why didn't you include it there
9th Company / 9th Rota 10/10 Probably the best war movie i've ever seen, and quite possibly the only movie i've ever seen about the soviet soldiers in Afghanistan. The thing i love most about it is the fact that its not one of those movies where all the good guys never die and survive against overwhelming odds, and the fact that by the end of the movie [sp] almost all of the soldiers are dead[/sp]

There were a lot more open engagements in WW2 and the soldiers weren't highly trained compared to modern times. Watch Generation Kill or Restrepo, it gives a better look of modern combat, closer to what you've heard. It was part standard war movie, part exaggerated HORRORS OF WAR and the rest was just stupid. It was based on an actual battle, except rather than having 6 die then call in the Hinds to kill everything, everyone dies. Think of if Black Hawk down had them shoot down 30 helicopters. Then there's arrive HURR PLANE CRASH, friend gets shot by a kid so he cries out dramatically while an entire village blows up behind him, confront a Mujahideen but lacks the balls to shoot him, it was just really bad.
I love Adam Sandler, fuck you guys. Anyway, I loved Woman in Black.
grown up grown up no no no did i seriously read that [editline]10th February 2012[/editline] is this a joke or something [editline]10th February 2012[/editline] ok yeh that was very funny we all had plenty of fun now where are the hidden cameras
If you went into a movie with David Spade and Chris Rock and thought it would be awesome, you're dead wrong. Go into it as a fun summer movie, and it's a nice film. ~Opinions~ [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] Oh and I almost forgot Waterboy. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] And the Longest Yard.
Clerks 2 - 6/10
And Spanglish.
ok anyway but back to the clip that the film slacker posted, is that a good adam sandler movie?
I personally think that Adam Sandler used to be pretty funny. I liked Mr. Deeds and Click.
No, if anything his good movies would be Billy Madison and Happy Gilmour, mr deeds and click were well into his 'horrible awfulness' stage.
I am not sure if I would even still like them though it's been a long time since i saw them they might be the kind of thing you need to see as a kid
It's "Billy Madison". I haven't seen it, so I couldn't tell you.
it looks pretty bad now that i'm seeing more of it. i asked because of that "ultimate insult" video but meh fuck it, it's not even funny.
No, if anything his good movies would be Billy Madison and Happy Gilmour, mr deeds and click were well into his 'horrible awfulness' stage.
I liked Click because it was actually an interesting movie that wasn't just Adam Sandler doing stupid shit. [sp]Also the ending was depressing as FUCK[/sp]
the ending really wasn't that depressing, pretty mild as far as those go. i mean it's an adam sandler film, come on.
