Could someone recommend me a calm "beautiful scenery" movie? Kinda like Sideways.
I haven't seen Sideways, but Andrei Tarkovskiy's Stalker is very slow and calm and has some very pretty scenery.
you don't need to have seen either thor or captain america it makes no negative impact on the film, or any difference at all all you need to know is already in the avengers
No it doesn't. They never explain where the tesseract came from or how they got it. Or Loki's motives.
No it doesn't. They never explain where the tesseract came from or how they got it. Or Loki's motives.
Loki's motives are explained. When [sp]Thor appears and they talk in the forest.[/sp] No idea about the tesseract though, but that didn't in any way hinder my enjoyment.
Chronicle - 8/10 Most awesome example of Telekinesis in a movie EVER. Was much better than expected.
Thor is pretty great, you should check it out
I wouldn't call it pretty great, but it's worth watching [editline]3rd May 2012[/editline] and you don't NEED to watch thor, but it certainly helps, because seeing the characters do everything is much better than simply hearing thor's 2 minute explanation of the events of the movie.
I've only seen Iron Man and Incredible Hulk. Have no inclination to see the others so I'll go into Avengers with only the hope of a good ensemble superhero movie.
I think I can guess Loki's motives at least partially. He's Loki, he's like the god of being a complete asshole. That should be enough.
you should watch thor it is A Good Movie you dont need it to watch the Avengers but it will increase your enjoyment of it
seriously, there's no reason not to watch thor if you're going to see the avengers
Paul 7.5/10 I seem to recall people hating it, could be wrong. I thought it was really good. Paul's eyes were gorgeous too. It was predictable but since that's because it was a parody of pretty much every alien movie ever it's acceptable.
you don't need to have seen either thor or captain america it makes no negative impact on the film, or any difference at all all you need to know is already in the avengers
This, although it doesn't hurt to see the previous films (really just IM/IM2 & Thor, CA is not necessary unless you REALLY need to know where the Tresseract came from, and you don't).
jesus. what is that shit
[t]http://movievaults.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Ace-Ventura-Jr-Pet-Detective.jpeg[/t] 0/10 Watched this in school in biology 12. Maybe they were testing what effects it would have on the brains of students. To my surprise, only myself and one other student hated it. Do I even have to say why it's bad? Look at it. It's a fucking disgrace. The acting is awful, the story is ludicrous, the idea of making "Ace Venture Pet Detective Jr." just blows my mind. To think that this movie had 8 writers kind of depresses me.
are you on a bad movie marathon?

Gran Torino 9/10 Clint Eastwood is one bad ass mother fucker he doesnt like to be messed with. with all the films i have watched recently i kind want Clint Eastwood, Michael Cain and Morgan Freeman to join forces in a kind of vigilante type film going round killing people and stuff it would be fucking incredible.
Dude.. At school I once brought in Total Recall. I think I was 14 at the time. I feel sorry for you. :-)
No it doesn't. They never explain where the tesseract came from or how they got it. Or Loki's motives.
first of all captain america states that it belonged to redskull during ww2 and it was frozen along with the cap - enough explanation required for the avengers second, loki's motives were that he thought he was better than all of humanity and considered himself a god and is the brother of thor - enough explanation required for the avengers
Man, just watch all of the Marvel movies. They're all good fun to watch in their own ways. Captain America, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk are just a little less well made than the other two.
the only one I haven't seen is hulk. Is it worth a watch?
@klaser My advice is, watch every movie... Btw, just got home from 3D projection of Avengerz...so pumped, movie is awesome, it was everything i expected (in terms of action and badassery) and much more (what's up with humour, it is straight up comedy with mr. Stark and Hulk leading :v:) 8.8/10 GO SEE IT!
They made us watch it. There was no other movie. It's pretty bad how the movies they show us have to be rated G in my senior year of high school. They got away with showing us Spider-Man 2 when I was in fourth grade and that had a certain scene that the teachers cringed at. 1:20 into it one of the nurses' nails drag on the floor to the point of them falling apart. Jesus Christ, that STILL makes me cringe. Why were we able to watch shit like this in elementary school but are forced to watch straight-to-video family film tripe in high school? Eh, whatever. It almost went into "so bad it's good" territory.
In my high school, they had us & our parents sign a waiver (if we were under 17) stating that it was okay for us to see R-rated movies in school. i got to see saving private ryan in 8th grade thanks to that.
The Avengers 9/10. Definitely the best movie so far this year. Most of the action moments were truly epic and enjoyable.
2012 seems to be an amazing year for movies, Avengers, Prometheus, The Worlds End etc
2012 seems to be an amazing year for movies, Avengers, Prometheus, The Worlds End etc
Pretty sure that's gonna be 2013. Simons busy with Star Trek and they're still working on the writing part. I'd be really surprised if it was 2012 (and yeah I know they said awhile back they were aiming for that, but that was before star trek 2 took over)
Avengers 8/10 Had some cheesy parts, some good funny moments that made everyone laugh. [sp]The part where hulk smashes the metal...turtle thing into the ground and made it flip over pretty much, I don't think that's very realistic. I mean, that thing must weigh about a million pounds. The hulk (realistically) should be about 200 pounds. How did he make that much impact on it when he shouldn't even be able to move it?[/sp]

[sp]when the hulk gets angrier, he only gets stronger, regenerates faster, and even his speed increases. the guy pretty much goes super saiyan.[/sp]
also, hulk is pretty much the strongest hero on earth
The hulk (realistically) should be about 200 pounds.
More like 400 kg.

I weigh that much and I'm not nearly as muscled as the goddamned Hulk.
Has anyone here seen the movie "21"? Is it worth a watch? From the trailer it looks pretty interesting.
