Just watched Requiem for a Dream - 9/10 It's been on my list to watch for a while and the people discussing it above pushed me to go watch it. It was awesome.
The Longest Day-10/10
Reservoir Dogs - 10/10 That was my third time watching and it still remains one of, if not my #1 favourite movie. The writing and the characters and everything is just ingenious. Fucking amazing film.
Re-Watched and Re-Evaluated Citizen Kane (1941): 10/10 At first I didn't like this movie, thought it was confusing and boring. However, after my second viewing, I realized how great it was and why many critics refer to it as the best movie of all time. Now it has obtained the #2 spot on my favorite movies list. Bravo, Orson Welles.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 9/10 loved every minute, Downey was fantastic, as was Val Kilmer, just overall a well written well directed, very funny film
jihad
The Pirates! Band of Misfits - Alright, not the best of their work but enjoyable Dark Shadows - a little disappointed, I expected tons of jokes to ripp the old soap apart and what I got was something semi faithful that presented itself in a way to be dry.
Raising Arizona. I have to admit something here, I didn't feel it. Even though Mr Cage's acting and the guy who played Fred Flintstone were brilliant, I just wasn't tuning in to the personalities here even though I'm very familiar with American humour. But there are just some things I feel I'd need to be in the homeland to get a good vibe with how crazy this is. That being said, there are aspects of the craziness which I did love, some of the road sequences are pure genius. Also the bounty hunter was fantastic. But in terms of my personal experience, it's a low end of connection here. Coen's I am sorry.
just watched Hollow man, it had some really corny dialogue and I didn't find myself wanting him to lose really, because he was the only interesting character. Could have been better executed but I liked it. What are some other Kevin Bacon films? Saw Apollo 13 recently which is what got me interested.
The Sitter 3/10 Jonah Hill's "comedy" which was not really funny.
The Sitter 3/10 Johan Hill's "comedy" which was not really funny.
swedes aren't known for their comedy so that is understandable.
Unknown - 7/10 Taken - 9/10 The Grey - 9/10 I need more Liam Neeson movies........
swedes aren't known for their comedy so that is understandable.
That's what I get for letting my phones autocorrect run rampant.
Unknown - 7/10 Taken - 9/10 The Grey - 9/10 I need more Liam Neeson movies........
Hmm... Schindler's List Batman Begins I still need to see Kinsey and Five Minutes of Heaven too.
I didn't really love it as much as I thought I would.
"it didn't live up to my expectations so I'm going to rate it lower than I rated Star Wars: EP I"
12 Angry Men (1957), it amazed me how it stayed interesting while it was essentially 12 guys talking using the same set piece throughout. Really enjoyed it
Funny Games - 2007 Remake 7/10 Honestly the basic idea behind this movie is not that mindblowing, but I found that the movie had an incredible atmosphere and tense feeling to it. Not knowing what those 2 fuckheads were up to next, you pity the family and it is just horrible yet so amusing in a weird way. The movie makes no sense, considering that one of the bad guys actually talks to the camera, also the ending is kind of lame. But I definitly recommend it to anyone.
the avengers. 9.9/10 the .1 deduction is because Stan Lee's cameo was pretty crummy compared to some of his cameos in other, lesser marvel movies
The Avengers- 5/10 I'm sorry for being the one guy that didn't like it, but I felt that it had way too much filler. The action scenes were great and Iron Man was hilarious as always, but overall, I didn't really love it as much as I thought I would.
finally someone got it out. :) watched The Descendants. heartwarming family drama. Good bit of mainstream cliche, but what's unique here is pretty much the fact it takes place in paradise which gives the movie all the more soothing a feel. It doesn't come at you like a hammer like many dramas, which might probably be a bad thing. But I enjoyed it, Clooney does what he does best, puts the heart to the role. Worth a look, but only if you feel like it. Really enjoyed it
That movie is has a LOT of personality in one room. Each character unfolds and becomes more interesting than the last. It feels real and is definitely a piece of genius.
way to be a dick, it's his opinion.
I don't mind his opinion, I just think that his reasons are retarded
Dude, I barely understood what was going on in The Avengers due to me being lost as far as back-story goes.
How is it hard to understand [sp]It's explained that the Teseraact is a portal in the very first scene, and that they need it to stop Loki from using his army to take over the planet[/sp] if you can't understand something that simple, then it's your fault, not the movie's
and why the fuck does that matter watching the other movies makes the avengers a better experience, but it's still a great movie without them
Just saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 8.5/10
and why the fuck does that matter watching the other movies makes the avengers a better experience, but it's still a great movie without them
You're like a kid who thinks Avengers is the greatest movie ever made because of how many great superheroes are in it. He doesn't like it, end of story. I'm glad one of these people acknowledges how overblown the entire concept was. [editline]14th May 2012[/editline]
I knew about the Teseraact, I was talking about the character back-stories, dude.
I think Avengers was only for the die hard Marvel fans anyway. I really don't feel like seeing them just to see what the fuss was about.
You're like a kid who thinks Avengers is the greatest movie ever made because of how many great superheroes are in it. He doesn't like it, end of story. I'm glad one of these people acknowledges how overblown the entire concept was.
No I'm not. Quit assuming things, you're only defending him because you agree with his opinion. I also think that the movie was incredibly overhyped, but it's still a good, well made movie. He doesn't like it? Yeah, alright, but why doesn't he like it? Because he didn't know something that didn't matter to the movie AT ALL? Because it wasn't as he expected? You even said that expectations don't matter, once. It's not "end of story" just because you declare it.
ITT: "My opinion is better than yours!"
I knew about the Teseraact, I was talking about the character back-stories, dude. I'm going to watch it again once I watch "Thor" and "Captain America".
I only watched the first Iron Man the the Incredible Hulk, I was able to follow the whole movie just fine.
-snip-
God Bless America Its about a middle aged man with not long to live and a troubled teenage girl killing their way across america as an alternative to suicide, targeting Fox News hosts, MTV reality stars and religious nuts. Humorous, speaks a lot of truths, but very unsubtle. 7-8/10 as an honest rating, but its definitely one of my all time favourites now.
Iron Man - Great movie, with a great cast and a fantastically simple plot, it manages to be an enjoyable, quick paced action flick, without being 80% filler. They managed to make Iron Man not just a smartass that has witty dialogue, but also likable character with enough depth for people to really want to see him winning. Possibly one of my all-time favorite superhero movies. Iron Man 2 - I was trying to find out what's wrong with this movie, and why it was so disappointing, compared to the first one. Basically, I think that it's really bland. There's not much character depth, which sucks even more if you look at how many new ones are introduced. The action scenes are rather boring, and the enemies are easily defeated, the writing is cheap, and the movie relies on putting as many things happening at the same time as possible, as well as the success of the previous Iron Man movie, and fails at it. Note that it wasn't exactly a bad movie, it was just much worse than Iron Man.
