Hobbyking sends everything from their Chinese warehouse unless you find items specifically listed as shipped from others. So if you're impatient, Hobbyking isn't for you.
Yeah, I looked at the shipping information, and it just got cleared through Chinese customs yesterday. But whatever, I'm a cheap-ass.
Sense this is RC related and I cant find another thread about RC general stuff.
I have 4 Cheap HobbyKing "Turnigy 2200mah Li-Po 3cell 11.1v" battery's
They are starting to expand. But here's the sad part, I'VE NEVER USED THEM.
I have charged them, and kept them charged for 2 year's almost.
But now they are expanding. And my E-Flight's witch I've used so many times are still in perfect condition.
Do I run the Expanding battery's or do I find a nice hole for them and say bye?
And if so "Throw away: What battery's are nice as of 2012. I haven't flew my T-28 in like 2 year's.

There's your problem. You don't keep LiPo's charged without using them, that's why better chargers also have a drain function.

So.... tub of sand and salt water for the battery's. Get 4 more 2200mah Turnigy battery's?
Why is it that the Turnigy battery's puffed and the E-Flight's did not.
Well, it sounds like you've been using them.
Yep been using them 24/7.

Like I sayed THE FUCKING PLUG IS WRONG!
And I've never cut it/ got a adapter for them.
You never said anything about plugs, and when I said "it sounds like you've been using them" I meant the E-Flights. As in, they haven't puffed because you've been using them.
Opppss Must have been my head that sayed "The plug is wrong."
Still all these battery's have just been pulled out of a box. All of them I think were charged prior to boxing them.
And they are still charged. I think. (11.4,11.4,11.8,12.01,12.01,11.9)
Beat's the hell out of me. Time to wait on a new receiver cause my dad was playing with my plane today and took the battery and plugged it into the receiver.

Going to order soon as the start of my quad. Any objections or am I good to go ahead and buy?

Personally, I'd rather go with the KK 5.5 Blackboard (What you linked appears to be a rebranded KK Blueboard) which can be had for about $50 on ebay, and optimally an OpenPilot Copter Control board. The OP CC is a direct control board which means it'll auto level, can support a GPS and even fixed wing aircraft. It's sold at-cost by its open development team for $90 which is considerably cheap for a control board, but you'll be hard pressed to find one.

Thanks for the advice, the blackboard is only $30 on ebay so I think i'll get that. What are the differences between the Y6 and Y3 board? From what I can see, they both support quads.
Y3: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KK-Multicopte-r-Black-Board-V5-5-Quadcopter-TriCopter-Y3-/250939344777?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a6d268789#ht_4578wt_1163

A Y6 is a tricopter with motors that face up and down for a total of 6, I'm assuming that the "Y6" version comes preflashed with Y6 compatibility but I don't really know. Probably doesn't matter considering you're making a quad.
[editline]29th February 2012[/editline]
I'd just go with the Y3.
Approximately how much would it cost to build a Multicopter?
[editline]29th February 2012[/editline]
If I do make one, I plan on making the frame myself. I mean only the electronics, motor, transmitter controller thing, etc.
Should I cave and buy a quadcopter frame and build that instead of my tricopter?
I can use all of the parts that I already ordered...
Oh man I haven't seen these things in 10 years.
Oh man I haven't seen these things in 10 years.
Now they are much cheaper and easier to build, the parts are easier to get as well.

What do you want to do with your quad/tri?

Its just a project really, just something to fly around. I might do FPV after a while.

What a steal, a KKMulticopter blackboard and AVR programmer for $29.

If you are after something to just "smash" about, I suggest a tri-copter. Less parts, less money easier to fix etc.
Whooo I got new stuff to play around with.
DX7s,4 port multi-battery charger, and a Blade 120 SR. Let the fun begin.
Should I buy an RC plane as well? This might not be the thread, but I think I would like to get into more RC stuff.
Does anyone have any suggestions for which one? I'm looking for something for about $100-$150

Easy Star RTF if you just wanna fly line of sight out of the box and maybe upgrade or go FPV later, ARF if you want to customize immediately. If you're really serious about FPV and have the patience to wait through Chinese shipping, the Sky Walker. Maybe even the new 1900mm version.
Alright, these guys are just bored now.

I've been thinking that, If I make a really strong quadcopter and get an x-y mount, I could make a drone.
4 channel for the quadcopter, 2 channel for the camera, a 6 channel transmitter should make a fully controllable camera drone. Hmm, lets see how much would this project cost.

$100 for a tricopter? What's the catch? Anything you would need to buy separate to get it running or is it a complete kit?
$100 for a tricopter? What's the catch? Anything you would need to buy separate to get it running or is it a complete kit?
It's not a complete kit, it's what you see that's made of plastic in my pics, namely the frame and motor mounts. Everything else is up to you.
Just received my charger, battery and cables and connectors. Time to hook shit up.
Unfortunately I forgot prop adapters and some screws... But yeah I'll get my thing flying soon I hope.
[editline]23rd March 2012[/editline]
Since my power adapter sucks I can only charge my battery at a rate of 0.2 amp. It can handle 2.7 amp :(
I'm getting money for grades, so I guess I can finish my tricopter now. I already backordered the Turnigy from the US warehouse, I think all I need is some parts to actually construct the thing and the speed controllers. Oh, and a battery.
I'm now working on a power distribution system. It sounds cool but it's basically soldering a bunch of wires together so that all 4 motors can get some electricity.
