No, how are you thinking you'll need $60,000 to pay for school.
Cool, My Cousin is going to the Bahamas
We sent them 1/5 of our fighter planes, 40 000 rifles and 42 000 000 cartridges + 8000 men as volunteers. 40 of them died.
We also accepted ~50 000 immigrants from Finland.
And /sign, let's stop OT.
Not really enough, hence why Finland after the war did not trust anyone because we were betrayed. The allies said they felt sorry for us, yet they barely helped. The allies then declared war on us and made us pay ridiculous reparation costs for the winter war which Finland did not even start. Also in the treay of 1947, Russia was to be called a free country and Finland a "Fascist State"
pathetic.
Guys, guys... why don't you settle that on the battlefield?

Anyone ranting about Sweden/Finland and which is best is going to die and get banned.
I like our lands equally. I'd like a union between us two, even though I can't understand your language, because you're cool.
I used to go to Sweden often, althought I'd never spend more than 20 minutes there (cheap beer from Systembolaget in Haparanda). Nowadays I live too far from the border to do that :(
If you like drugs, stay in Canada. That is all you need to know =)
I feel for ya OP. I was actually starting to consider the same thing, since my country went down the shitter over the last 10 years and for some reason, I just want to be somewhere else but here... should I take the plunge? :/
Yes.
I go to school in umeå. Come live with me
I agree, Umeå is awesome.
Why would you go to Sweden? Go across the border to Norway who has oil, and beautiful women (don't touch them, they're ours).
Go to downtown Stockholm and chant "USA! USA! USA!"
They love that there
But seriously, I know you guys have conscription, but does that apply to people immigrating to Sweden? And do you guys allow for dual-citizenship? (I know Norway doesn't. Selfish bastards)

Since 2001 we allow dual-citizenship. But the cons outweights the pros.
Wait so is it going to stay free? I would love to go, i was talking to my parents about transferring there.
Since 2001 we allow dual-citizenship. But the cons outweights the pros.
Cons in what regard?
Dammit, I don't know how to properly tell my parents I want to visit Sweden for a week or so.
Alone, or at most with some college friends.
Why would you go to Sweden? Go across the border to Norway who has oil, and beautiful women (don't touch them, they're ours).
yeah and it costs $15 for a bag of chips and a pop.. no thanks
Cons in what regard?
Don't know. But the conscription is only if you have an official citizenship. But not to worry, it's not much of a conscription anymore. By 2011 they're going to hammer it down to less than 10 000 a year, and that's only for the people that really want to do it.
Sweden is proof that socialism works, i got paid to be in school, i got free transport and food. Most material to no books to pay either.
If you're here as a student you'll be doing just fine. I met a Ukrainian girl at a train this summer that studied advanced agriculture here and she said that she was treated great. If she said so out of courtesy, I don't know. But she was nice and at least she seemed to enjoy her time here.

Well, it isn't really socialism. It just follows the Nordic Model

But it's used for truthful effect
I was reading about education in Sweden and came across this word,
Doktorsexamen.
Wow, so many universities to choose from... which one/s should we look for? :P
Depends on what you want to study. But generally, the really good universities are:

KTH, Royal Institute of Technology

Chalmers in Gothenburg

Lund University

Uppsala University
AFAIK there are only 3 English Universities in Sweden or universities with English programs. Lund and Uppsala are both ones though. Forgot the third.
Most universities have courses in english. Just go to their site and search of an english flag or a button saying english.
