In my case, whenever possible, Computing (my main goal is to make a career as a SysAdmin, that's why I'm currently working on getting this certification) :q: For what I've read so far, I'd better stick with the english classes... although I wouldn't mind learning swedish, I'm pretty good at learning languages :D
If any of you decides to go to sweden, toss me a PM and I'll hook you up with basic knowledge such as currency, public transports etc.
What're you gonna do with the 20k? Our education is free
Are you kidding me? My parents had to work 60 hours a week to help pay for my college, then I had to work 25 hours a week during college to pay for it. Fuck you modern developed world! MERIKA DONT NEED YER SOCIALIST POLICIES!
If any of you decides to go to sweden, toss me a PM and I'll hook you up with basic knowledge such as currency, public transports etc.
What do you recommend for someone who wants to travel there, just as a vacation? I can't see myself ever moving there permanently unless I decide to get off my ass and go to university. Unless you guys need tradespeople there.
Haha, reminds me. If you want to learn Swedish, there was this british web radio show that did a spin-off on that. Check it out: part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, [editline]05:33AM[/editline]
What do you recommend for someone who wants to travel there, just as a vacation? I'm a bit home blind so I got a hard time coming up with some good sightseeings at the moment. You can always go to Sweden Rock Festival. :>
If any of you decides to go to sweden, toss me a PM and I'll hook you up with basic knowledge such as currency, public transports etc.
Wow thanks a lot!!! :D I'll definitely contact the swedish embassy this week for some more info... It'd be really nice to broaden horizons...

I can't see myself ever needing to ask if sheep are allowed on the plane. EDIT: Oh god why are these phrases so asinine

EDIT: Oh god why are these phrases so asinine
Just wait until the extremely linguistically challenging phrases comes. Hmm, can't think of any at the moment. It's 05:43 in the morning and I haven't slept yet. I guess you can google or something. [editline]05:39AM[/editline] brb bed
I have a feeling Kazumi is very excited about this thread. Odd, because I get a great feeling of dread every time I see a thread about Canada.
I want to go to Sweden for the melodic death metal, who hear likes Ensiferum, kalmah, wintersun ect. also Norway for the fjords.
I want to go to Sweden for the melodic death metal, who hear likes Ensiferum, kalmah, wintersun ect. also Norway for the fjords.
You can listen to that in North America. Ensiferum is touring here right now, in fact. And Norway is for the black metal AND the fjords. Not just the fjords.
I want to go to Sweden for the melodic death metal
HELL YEAH!!! and then jump over to Germany, just in time for the Wacken festival :q:
HELL YEAH!!! and then jump over to Germany, just in time for the Wacken festival :q:
Wacken's gone downhill in the last few years.
You can listen to that in North America. Ensiferum is touring here right now, in fact. And Norway is for the black metal AND the fjords. Not just the fjords.
none near me, I guess i could drive to new york, in may...
none near me, I guess i could drive to new york, in may...
Do it. I've missed them in Winnipeg twice because I'm too damn broke, and I've heard nothing but good things.
So wait, in Sweden college is completely free even if you are a foreign student? :raise:
What do you recommend for someone who wants to travel there, just as a vacation? I can't see myself ever moving there permanently unless I decide to get off my ass and go to university. Unless you guys need tradespeople there.
Depends, what do you want? Sightseeing or like, party? Both? Really depends on what you're interested in.
So wait, in Sweden college is completely free even if you are a foreign student? :raise:
Now, yes. I only pay for my apartment, food, internet and books at the moment. My apartment is at 2000 SEK (+food for a month + internet = 1100 SEK) and the CSN grants (that's the word?) are 2600 SEK. If the grants is not enough, you're always allowed to borrow money from CSN, up to a maximum of 7000 SEK a month. 2011 non-EU students might have to pay for their studies though.
2011 non-EU students might have to pay for their studies though.
WAT why?, well i'll live there.
WAT why?, well i'll live there.
Because the government wants it that way :ohdear:
Have fun! Bring a condom!
Not just one condom! A whole bag of condomes! :D [editline]01:54PM[/editline]
why Sweden?!?!? Go to Finland: 1. Finnish people know how to drink 2. We don't take pussy saunas, we take real 90 degree celsius saunas 3. Finnish chicks are like twice as hot as Swedish ones 4. Our education is better 5. We actually fought in WW2
Ok maby finnish chicks are hot. But they'll eventually end up like this.
That's just how everyone who lives to be 100 turns out.
That's just how everyone who lives to be 100 turns out.
That's bullshit, only finnish people get wrinkles, don't deny it.
So wait, in Sweden college is completely free even if you are a foreign student? :raise:
Basically yes. You don't have to pay the institution for the courses you attend, and CSN sends you 2600 SEK (about $376, or 250€) every month as long as your results are semi-satisfactory. Just like that. Pretty possible to live off it. If not, you can always take special loans from CSN. But, after 2011 there might be some fees for international students. I don't think anything is decided yet however.
I called the Swedish embassy today but I was late, an answering machine gave me their working hours, oh well... maybe tomorrow :/ BTW, the swedish speeches sounded like german to me :v:
Not just one condom! A whole bag of condomes! :D
They can't be that easy! Can they?
Ok maby finnish chicks are hot.
I think she might be a homo.
