If I gain a close friendship with someone, I would never want to lose them in some way, because I had to live over 2 years (I estimate 3 rounded to the nearest year) without any friends due to constant bullying so I'm serious about my social life in a way. I agree with OP. I'm about to go into high school with at most 3 or 4 good friends. The rest of my peers I at least know.

Most people with asperger don't give a real fuck about social life to be fairly honest, not in the same way as people who don't have asperger do atleast. There is just something about being liked by people and having people to trust and depend on that makes life so much easier and happier to live.

It depends on what they've been through that has caused them to treat their lives with such disgrace or they just can't handle the consequences of life or their actions anymore. Since you feel fine like that it means that not having any friends or a girlfriend didn't have a big impact on your life and therefore is your approach to the situation.

Regardless you will always try to find social acceptance, granted i don't have that many close friends but i get along with most, as for girlfriends my record hasn't been so good.

Yes people bitch when things don't go right, but if you have friends, going to parties and a girl. Do you know how awesome it is? It's the fucking best, it's hard to understand because you havn't even tried it sounds like, but it's a damn good time. But good on you for not really caring i guess, it's just you'll miss out on very important things in life if you stay that way.

I'm now 18 and honestly I've never really had friends or a girlfriend and I was fine too until I hit 18. Don't ask me why, for all my life I've been happy and fine and then as soon as my 18th birthday came around it kind of hit me like a freight train and I've felt kind of shit for no real reason, I can't tell you why I went from happy to feeling assy but it just happened.

I completely agree, It's mostly girls who do it too. Sure you can say how you're feeling pretty damn upset but I really do hate how they're like "Omg, I can't spend 1 day without you" and if they get dumped "My life is worthless". I'm in year 9. This level of emotion is not needed in a relationship at this age. Before I read the OP I was thinking you were a loner with no friends and complaining about people having a social life.

I remember listening to a girl who was being all dramatic about something Turns out a friend of hers talked to someone, who apparently heard another one of her friends totally diss the original girl I was completely baffled

I have a bundle of good friends. Every now and then we hang out and check out the movies. Me and some other friends still have bonds established back in Jr. High and Highschool and new friendships forged for me in the Swim Team (no fucking homo)
