• Why are people so serious about their social lives?

I really enjoy conversations with friends of mine. Though as of right now having more friends = more problems arise. As in right now my "best friend" who never talks to me is starting shit about my other friend, and she has no right to be talking trash, but whatever. Having at least a few really good friends is enough for me. I don't care so much about numbers on Facebook, I just care about having awesome friends. Though trust me when I say having friends and a girlfriend is relatively life-changing, though once my GF went up to college we broke up :C
Boring people get upset about simple things to become exciting. Exciting people don't give a shit to become interesting loners. Some people don't give a shit but still have a large social life to become the Dos Equis man.
Personally, I don't have any friends in real life and never had a girlfriend and I feel fine, but maybe that's just me.
you're delusional wow what a free-thinker
I like to put effort into my social life I'd prefer to hang out with my friends rather than sit here in fast threads and talk about games If I could be hanging out with my friends right now, I would be
Because everyone is an aspie.
It's just you. Once you get a girlfriend, you'll change your mind.
Yeah, you actually start thinking about your relationship a lot more than you think so
Different people place different amounts of importance on different things. Some people rely more on social interaction to stimulate their mind than others.
Here's my two cents Theres a differnce between being obsessed with social drama and having little feuds about everything anyone says remotly regarding you AND.... Valuing the relationships you have with people and being concerned with the happenings within said relationships. There is a real value in finding friendship with people you can relate and talk to, but faking this kind of relationship shows a unhealthy kind of second-handedness.
This doesn't really belong to Fast Threads as I'm referring to some threads which have been posted in General Discussion lately. Why are people so fucking serious about their social lives? For example, falling in depression and/or killing themselves because some dumb bitch dumped them or because they only have a few friends in real life. (And yet supporting pointless wars which take thousands of innocent lives) Personally, I don't have any friends in real life and never had a girlfriend and I feel fine, but maybe that's just me.
if you never had a real friend (not even a nerdy, ugly or just unpopular one) then you must be doing something wrong [editline]10:53PM[/editline]
dude, people suicide over depression and it's because it's a mental illness. Calling someone a coward for that is the dumbest thing you can do
i would argue that it is not but is environmental because many other countries that treat there people better do not have very many depressed people [editline]10:58PM[/editline]
Because they have a thing called feelings which your hip, nerdy atheist mind cannot comprehend.
you sir is stupid [editline]11:00PM[/editline]
I agree with OP. I'm about to go into high school with at most 3 or 4 good friends. The rest of my peers I at least know.
dont you think you are a little young for facepunch? whatever it doesnt matter but my main point is that in middle school everyone is a jerk and in high school you will make more friends
Because facepunch is full of 'loners'
You didn't actually read OP did you.
I only got like 1 Friend in my new school and im fine, never had a GF either. [editline]08:17AM[/editline] though I hangout alot with my old friends instead :p
Social life is important as long as you aren't some kind of xXxH4RDC0R3_L0N3RxXx. When you get some close friends and/or a girlfriend you don't want to lose them.
