Eh not necessarily. It's very rare to see one app that has a binary that supports both architectures. Hell, Linux distros basically never have universal binaries. I don't see what's the appeal on it being Unix based, aside from the file system. I have NEVER seen an OSX command line, authentically never. I don't even know how to run one without googling it.
Applications > Utilties > Terminal Literally everything you can do in the Linux command line you can do here. I haven't ran into something I could compile on Linux but couldn't on OSX. (That's a customized shell btw)

I personally like Macs way more than PCs, and my next laptop will be a mac for sure. I like the OS because its fast and easy to use. Simplicity of an OS doesn't mean that you are dumb, people, it means that you can get in, do what you need to do, and get out faster. I absolutely HATE dealing with networks on windows, where on a mac, its a few clicks.
I've found that on windows 7 at least connecting to wireless is quite a bit easier than it used to be thank god.
I prefer Windows, but I can deal with OSX. The thing I like least is how mouse acceleration seems to be on by default, so when I go to use any mac on-campus, I have to change that setting every time, otherwise I feel like my mouse is stuck in mud or something. Why, Apple, Why?
It's comparing knife and fork. Spoon and spatula. Dick and vagina.
I like Windows more than Mac. Whenever I used a mac at my school the programs would just quit on me. Safari would always die and Finder as well. So I don't see the point of having a computer that does that that often.

I know Apple does one thing poorly is releasing updates that are slow as hell on older machines. They did it with iOS 4 and the iPhone 3G.
I won't argue about which system has better applications than the other because to be honest there's nearly always an equivalent on the other system. However, one thing that sticks out to me about OSX is that it's designed to be very clean, and nice to browse in and pretty much provides a great environment for the computer. This is why I think so many developers and designers are known to lean towards OSX - because from experience I know that it's a fucking pain in the ass to work inside an unclean and awkward environment.
Now, lets chose a better example of a nice looking text editor for windows. It's entirely up to the developer to make a program look like ass and I don't know why they do it.
Did you just hide everything you could or something?
Did you just hide everything you could or something?
Only the toolbar, which is an option in the program, that's it.
