take your sense of decency back to the middle ages where it belongs. sex is not sacred it's just a natural function of the body that feels good.
I have every right to a sense of decency conflicting with yours if I want one.

This is exactly what I said!
I am really regretting adding that text to my avatar now
How does porn extract information regarding what sex is from a child's head?
What are you not getting?
Children are impressionable, if I show them something unrealistic, it may affect their grasp on reality.
By the way, that was a silly comparison to make you realize how ridiculous your argument was, but here's a more relevant one: sex and eating are similar. They're both primal needs that humans perform regularly. The cartoon "Dexter's Laboratory", in one episode, showed a muscle-man eating rocks. I suppose, since children are so impressionable, kids who view that episode of Dexter's Laboratory will think it's healthy and will give them muscles if they eat rocks.
The cartoon "
You're giving bizarre examples like eating rocks and talking sponges, but the thing is once a person ages they can physically see that sponges do not talk and that eating rocks hurt.
Pornography on the other hand is totally different in that, it CAN happen, but it often doesn't. Me picking up a DD Katy Perry clone and doing her over the hood of a Mustang CAN happen, but I shouldn't base my viewpoint of sexuality on this.
(That example may have been to radical, but I shouldn't base my view on sexuality of things like male dominance or bigger is better.)

OK, but it's a stupid sense of decency.

Now you're seeing the problem through my eyes! See, once a person ages, they can see that sex doesn't always involve the things it does in pornography.
you're a bad name to christians, families, and people in general
fuck i'd say furry but that can't go lower

Just so you know why I say you're walking a thin line between socialism and healthy society when you block people from doing/viewing something because you find it wrong, I'd like to say that I find religion a totally unrealistic representation of how the universe was formed and it harms children's grasp on reality so children should never be allowed to be religious (not far from the truth btw but I'm not going to propose a ban on children being religious)
The fuck?
Now you're seeing the problem through my eyes! See, once a person ages, they can see that sex doesn't always involve the things it does in pornography.
Teenagers who don't view porn at age five can barely differentiate.
An unrealistic portrayal of a lot of things at a young age can negatively effect a child, sex is just one of them.

I'm an atheist.
Fuck me I'm weird.
I'm an atheist but I will go to a Christian church, see the wonderful families there, and I want to be one of them, I don't want to be in my atheist household, my atheist household is shit. I look at myself and I want to be a Christian, but I'm not.

I'm not making a objective argument here, I'm making a competent parenting argument.
I'm not telling anyone how to raise their child, I'm saying that this and that may be best for the child in the long run.
However, if you want to make an objective argument. If anything, telling the OP that his beliefs are ridiculous is closer to a restrictive society than me throwing my support for the OP. At least I'm giving an adult the power to choose as oppose to the child.

I never said you showing support to OP was close to a socialist environment + you're REALLY stupid if you actually think me disagreeing with you is close to a socialist environment

The only reason it could negatively affect the child is because we as a society put a huge taboo on sex. If sex wasn't so forbidden people wouldn't be so afraid to hide their sexuality.
I mean geez do you even know what socialist means
what I object to is the idea that it's perfectly fine to go out and meet up with a person, fuck that night, and never talk again
Why? That's completely illogical. And screw off if you want to promote something that's completely illogical. Go ahead and glorify sex, but keep it to yourself.
I mean geez do you even know what socialist means
Yeah, it's an economic theory, and so you're misusing it too smart one.
in my opinion sex shouldn't just be this not-special thing that people just do for the sake of doing, it is more sacred than that
Why is sex sacred? Animals do it all the time, they've no reason beyond physical desire or chemistry. Dogs hump legs. Dolphins hump tourists. I saw a squirrel knock another out of a tree that was in the act - went on and took the others spot.
Why? That's completely illogical. And fuck you if you want to promote something that completely illogical. Go ahead and glorify sex, but keep it to yourself.
I think there has been a misunderstanding here
I was saying one-night stands were a bad thing
I never said you showing support to OP was close to a socialist environment + you're REALLY stupid if you actually think me disagreeing with you is close to a socialist environment
You misunderstand, you called the OP's+Elecbullet's decision borderline socialist and I disagree.
In addition, in the situation described, either the adult loses his power to choose or the child does. I favor the decision of the adult because the likeness of his competence is higher. Perhaps calling my view less restrictive is not correct, but it's better.
I think there has been a misunderstanding here

I don't see the misunderstanding. I don't see how it's a bad thing at all.
You're glorifying sex, which I'm pretty sure was a "problem" a couple of years ago, then people realized that sex wasn't really a big deal.
Why is sex sacred? Animals do it all the time, they've no reason beyond physical desire or chemistry. Dogs hump legs. Dolphins hump tourists. I saw a squirrel knock another out of a tree that was in the act - went on and took the others spot.
The idea that animals do it so often that we shouldn't think so much about it doesn't hold up, because we are so radically different. Animals kill each other in blindingly painful ways but we don't do it.
Well in civilized countries at least
The only reason it could negatively affect the child is because we as a society put a huge taboo on sex. If sex wasn't so forbidden people wouldn't be so afraid to hide their sexuality.
I agree, but it'll be a couple more generations before we're open to sexuality so I think a middle-ground between complete sexual liberation and sexual conservatism is ideal in the meantime.

It would be different if viewing porn was actually harmful to children but it isn't

well in that case I misunderstood you
It would be different if viewing porn was actually harmful to children but it isn't
It's harmful to a child, at least of the age described, under realistic circumstances.

Yes we do. Go spend a night in New York on the streets and you can probably experience it first-hand if you have anything vaguely valuable on you.

why
When I was about that age, I accidentally changed the channel to some lesbian porn. I remember it very clearly. My parents freaked out when I asked them later why a woman was licking another woman's peepee and why they were wearing tutus when they were doing it.
Anyway, I turned out just fine.
Jesus dicking christ when did you get unbanned
No it isn't
I provided a clear, possible situation in which pornography can harm a child.
You can't just say "No it isn't."

I hope this isn't news to you, but humans are animals.

Lol I hope you're kidding.
Lets just ignore the fact that the American military has been non-stop killing people in other countries for 60 years. Oh and lets forget all the murder too.
