It was long speculated as such, but appearently Greg F (the old story writer for BIONICLE) did one of his "Sure, why not?" canonization of fan ideas and said we could consider this the "official" Turaga Lhikan set.

Yeah, just now reports are trickling in on 2015 set finds all over LEGO's product lines. Took long enough, I guess retailers are trying to fill the shelves after Christmas madness.
And lucky for me, my parents agreed to fund buying me 7 of the new sets. ALL SIX TOA IN ONE GO, HELL YES!

Local Toys R Us had Pohatu and Gali and their respective protectors, decided to not pick them up though. Local Target, though? They had Tahu and his protector, so now I've got an old hero of mine back.
My camera doesn't do the whole "the color red" thing too well, so the red is a little washed out in my photo. It's a much more vibrant red in person.
The new building system is definitely not something I'm used to, but there's such an unmistakable vibe of "holy shit HE'S BACK" radiating from Tahu here. He's not quite my Tahu, but he's still back and better than ever.

Plus going by the size of that mask of creation mold they made, the mask looks bigger than even the toa masks. If they do release a set with it, it would look quite silly on something with a body the size of a protector.
It turns out I got second place on one of the sites for the golden mask contest! That means 6 brand new sets in autographed boxes. It ain't a 12 karat gold mask but I'm satisfied :v:

Well I suppose the mask on the last page isn't the MoUP but instead it's the mask of one of the summer villains. It's got a very "brutal" feel to it.
Also, page 7-8 of the scans. Mask of time confirmed.

I personally dislike Lewa's and Gali's masks the most (despite them being my favorities from 2001 sets) Onua and Tahu are second to best while Pohatu's and Kopaka's masks are the best looking imo

It's only the tallest if you count the wingspan or with the neck stretched upwards, from a normal standing position either the makuta combiner from the metru series or the special mata nui from 2009 would be taller.

Looks like the new Bionicles are now on the Australian LEGO Shop at Home site, although the link is bugged. To view them, you gotta click the themes button, click the box by Bionicle's name and click View selected. Sure beats the supposed February release date for us.

it really depends in this case, is that just the disc with movies and stuff on it or is it something else? I remember there were discs that came with a demo of that canceled bionicle game and those are pretty rare.
