It doesn't look that bad. Still hoping for an actual videogame.
it kinda blows that the only enemies we have to work with are these puny-ass spiders and just one big one
Oh hey a Bionicle thread :) I picked up Lewa yesterday. I wanna get Onua and skip Pohatu and probably Gali.
it really depends in this case, is that just the disc with movies and stuff on it or is it something else? I remember there were discs that came with a demo of that canceled bionicle game and those are pretty rare.
i think that disc contains a few minigames and some facts about the bohrok, as i believe that's the period that disc dates from
Uh I remember playing the game that was on it, let me try installing it... [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] "BIONICLE Whenua 2004" No installation, it just jumps straight to a guy talking about stuff I have no idea about (https://u.teknik.io/Y9B70K.png) - let me skip through and get to gameplay [editline]4th January 2015[/editline] Noope, I hate these [t]https://u.teknik.io/vbnQzE.png[/t]
Noope, I hate these [t]https://u.teknik.io/vbnQzE.png[/t]
I would love it if this new era would add some depth to it with another classic symbol like this. It was rather clever how this old one got used. Starting as some weird thing in 2001 before Mask of Light spelled out it as recognizing the Three Virtues, and then the book/serial hints that the symbol was a map being dug out by some random breed of Rahi, and then the final years revealing it as the current state of that Spherus Magna planet. Rather deep and clever, all that. At the very least, I'd like to see a new symbol/logo. Because otherwise I fear just plastering the Mask of Creation all over the place could get old fast.
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103678&st=9850 According to user Leewan, one of the summer (villain, in case you haven't seen the leaked list) sets might be dark tan and there won't be any dark blue set. So basically you can't still do anything with that dark blue skull spider. Well, sorta.
At the very least, I'd like to see a new symbol/logo. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up evolving at least a bit as it goes.
I loved the original Bionicle lore and story. So interesting and different, starting with the arrival of the Toa then learning about the Turaga's past then the future. Man it was so good. RIP Matoro. [editline]5th January 2015[/editline] Also not just the lore, but the names of the characters and their different masks. We're never gonna get something like the Kanohi Hau or names like Huki and Kongu for the matoran again.
damn this is a fine piece of work
Canonically, if its even detailed, what does kopakas little eye piece thingies do exactly?
they're xray/binoculars
How durable are the new sets? The last 3 years of bionicle were infamous for having pieces that frequently cracked or broke.
How durable are the new sets? The last 3 years of bionicle were infamous for having pieces that frequently cracked or broke.
The new sets use the new system that was introduced with Hero Factory, and from my experience with some of the sets and what I've read, it's really durable.
I just got the new catalog and it says they wont have them new Bonkles in sale until next month :(
Really only sockets had issues and maybe sometimes weapon axels. CCBS (hero factory and Bionicle 15) style sockets are looser than the old bionicle system, so there's less stress involved in removing or adding balls from sockets.
I had some CCBS parts crack on me, but these are pretty strong seeing that I used the CCBS since 2011. :v:
some new news!
Hello guys! I have some more info (and remarks) 70791 Skull Warrior is a slenderlooking guy with a big bow made from the big curved bonepieces thats also used in for example queen beast 70792 Skull Slicer is also a rather slender guy, he doesnt have 4 legs but rather 4 arms, and swords in every hand! 70793 Skull basher on the other hand is more bulky, with Purple horns on his head and brandishing som kind of big warhammer/battleaxe! 70794 skull Scorpio is the only non-humanoid in this wave, hes got six legs and a big stinger. Imagine a scorpion made with ccbs and youll probably come pretty close. 70795 Mask Maker vs skull grinder sadly, the mask maker doesnt seem to have a hammer nor the mask of creation. However it has to be ekimu as he has a gold/trans light blue color Scheme. He is seen jumping or falling down towards the bad guy, who is really intimidating. Big, kopaka-sized atleast with a black/trans red color scheme. Hes got two different weapons, an axe and a sword it looks like. Interesting is his torso, looking like its a mix of black and trans red done similarily to the protectors mask. success I now have all of the toa and the spook spider
Finally got a chance to go down to a store and pick up some new sets. My local Target was almost completely cleared out, I grabbed what I could, which amounted to a Kopaka and a Protector of Earth. I really like the new Kopaka's mask design, stays true to the original while still clearly being its own thing. Also, the articulation on the new sets feels a bit weird, there's a lot of ball and socket joints (they also connect a lot easier than old ones), but there's also a lot of bulk that gets in the way.
and it only cost me one year's salary! [t]http://i.imgur.com/3uhRemB.jpg[/t]
*snip i was retarded*
and it only cost me one year's salary! [t]http://i.imgur.com/3uhRemB.jpg[/t]
Would you be willing to post pics of Onua and the spider? I wanted to see what they look like but I haven't been able to find good pics anywhere.
Would you be willing to post pics of Onua and the spider? yeah, he has the shortest leg pieces of them all
The one thing I'm not a big fan of about these new sets is the naming scheme they've settled on. Part of what made the old story so interesting was how completely alien it was in every aspect. Everything had its own name for itself, but now it all seems so...regular, for lack of a better word. "Protector," or "Matoran?" Region of Fire, or Ta-koro? I know which ones I prefer, but I haven't seen anyone else voice the same thing. Aside from the names, the sets themselves are very solid. I only have Kopaka and a couple of the protectors, but Kopaka managed to keep his old feel and the protectors are a good bit of fun to put together and pose. I wasn't expecting them to be so fat, but I love their design.
To me, Kopaka's armor is too bulky, which is the only thing that I don't think follows the original vibe with him.
I fit his shield together like Tahu's lava board so it looks more like a kite shield which I prefer to the spiraly way it is normally. he can even look through the gap on the end while he holds it up [editline]11th January 2015[/editline] unrelated note: the lack of diversity in their eye colors is disappointing. two are blue, and the rest are lime green
