My dog of about 2005 was fed raisins for treats by my mum... she died under anaesthetic when getting neutered. She was completely fine before then. No vomiting, no symptoms, nothing strange. Jack Russell Terrier - completely crazy. :( We were informed about the danger of grapes and raisins about 3 years after her death, and we all felt so bad :|
My Jack Russell gets a grape now and then (like every two months or so), but she's lived to a be a healthy 13 year old (still kickin', too, albeit slower than usual): never once been to the vet except for her shots. I never would've guessed grapes had this effect on dogs. I guess one isn't enough to have an effect or something.
Damn dude, I don't even want to think of my dogs dying. Keep us posted.
Poor dog, I remember when I was about 5 my dog ate heaps of chicken pellets and I thought they were poison, I cried for hours until my dad told me there was nothing wrong. I can really feel for you man. Hope your dog gets healthy soon!
Sobek, i didn't mean to force people to pay, i just ment that if you have the money you should give it a try, the same as you would do for any family member. If they have a worse life after the treatment...a degraded life then of course you should not go through with it. And i know what it is to lose a pet.
Whaaat o.o I always give my dog grapes and she eats them =S Didn't know they were poisonous to dogs
Stupid dog! You made the OP look bad!
Wild grapes? What? Did they have spears and dance around a campfire? Why on the earth would he eat those, clearly, they must have set off a red flag seeing as how they had motherfucking spears! But on a more serious note: I'm really sorry about that, I lost one of my sheperds in a freak accident, so I know how you feel. :smith:
Ahaha I'm sorry man but I read this thread title, imagined the described scenario, and busted up laughing. Like I imagined you running to your dog just after he ate the grapes and is chewing on them and you just look at him all sad knowing he's fucked and he's all :downs: and you're like :frown: and I'm like
Holy fuck, we feed my dogs grapes all the time. Guess I'll have to stop that.
I also feed my dog grapes a lot, damn. She will eat any fruit lying around. Good luck :ohdear:
she needs kidneys
I'll donate :3:
I'm really sad about this, please tell us what happens... I'm rooting for the dog!
Why do dogs die from grapes and chocolate?
Don't know about grapes, but dogs and cats cannot metabolize Theobromine (the active ingredient in chocolate*) as well as us Homo sapiens. In fact, they cannot do it very well at all. *Theobromine, not caffine is the cause of the rush you get from chocolate and coffee and tea. It's already theobromine in coaco beans. Our livers break down the caffine in coffee into it.
I'm hoping your lack of a reply is because your sleeping OP, I have a dog similar to how you described your dog and just the thought of her falling sick makes me feel ill.
wait so some 1 posting cool is banable but some1 trolling because he finds it funny isnt ? im confused gunfox any ways that sucks dude :( sounds like a lovely dog and hope she gets well

I was probably a bit rude earlier... Had a shitty day and when I start thinking about these sorts of things and all the animals I've lost in the past, I just feel a bit... lost. You know? It gets to you.
:(

Seriously, which retards rated OP post funny/dumb? This isn't a fucking joke.
I really don't know how anyone can rate other than hearts. Fucking idiots.
My dog once ate a ton of chocolate candies that were still in their wrappers. He didn't die since the wrappers were all in-tact, but he had massive indigestion and looked downright miserable for a week or two. I guess dogs will just eat whatever is in front of them. He died of a tumor a few years ago.
I don't see why this is rated funny. And sorry OP :(
Seriously, which retards rated OP post funny/dumb? This isn't a fucking joke.
Internet trolls. They look smug behind their chair. Terribly sorry about your dog OP, hope he gets better. I feed my Border Collie grapes once in a while, he goes crazy at them, playing with them as if they were a toy.
I don't know if this will help much I hope your dog gets better. I couldn't stand losing my dog, and I'm sure you can't either.
Ah man, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your dog pulls through.
I also feed my dog grapes a lot, damn. She will eat any fruit lying around. Good luck :ohdear:
Don't feel too bad. Last I checked nobody actually is sure why grapes hurt dogs. For everything else, we know. In the case of most fruits that hurt dogs, it's because they process the foods differently. Namely they break down the cyanogenic glycosides and process it into cyanide. Which, as you can expect, isn't good. But grapes don't contain cyanogenic glycosides.
Man, I really feel for you, I hope your dog gets better I lost my dog when she was 8 months old 5 years ago and I didn't know what to do for a month =/ she got hit by a car and the fucker just drove away. My thoughts go out to you though man, hope for the best.
I hope your dog gets better soon :sympathy:
.
A former dog I had ate a large bar of chocolate out of the trash and was fine, and the following month stole my motherfucking chocolate chip muffin off the table. She lived for 3 years after until she was put down because of kidney issues.
