I'm sorry about your dog. Must suck. :/
Sorry about your dog, clockroach, losing pets is a terrible thing. I've lost two dogs I loved very much in the last two years... Never gets any easier.
RIP Zoey :smith:

RIP everyones lost pets
Actually he was somewhat right, she was happy and tail-waggy right up until the end.
Sorry to hear you had to put her down.
It sounded like she had a great life because of you and your family and thats what counts.
That doesn't happen.
Look at how everyone is being an ass in this linked thread, and everyone in this thread is all nice and friendly. Both threads were near death cases.
I'm not trying to hate on OP here, but fuck, people care way more about dogs than humans.

I've been feeding my dog grapes for a while
Why would you let your dog out if there are wild grapes near? Seems more like the owners fault and not the guy who didn't let her in.

Grapes and chocolate is deadly to dogs. I would stop.

The grapes aren't on our property, we didn't know about them. Also, I still don't even know where they are.
And she's our family's dog, and one of us (not me) forgot to let her in. so the owner and "the guy who didn't let her in" are the same person.

If you would've read the OP you would know they didn't know that grapes were bad for dogs until after she ate them.

So you let you're dog run around on other peoples property rudely or wherever it wants freely? Talk about negligence. I'm sad for your loss, but I'm not surprised if this is how you maintained your dog.

It's just negligence. Responsible pet owners know what can harm their pet(s). The dog would be alive if they were responsible and took her to the vet ASAP. You don't wait around after your dog just ate poison. Key word poison = death.

I'm really sorry for you clockroach. I guess it just got too bad too fast...
Don't really know what else to say. I mean, you never really get over losing your pet (especially if it's one you've had for a really long time - your absolute best friend, you know), but like anyone's passing, it gets easier with time.
We bury our animals along an embankment behind our house, overlooking the forest behind. Each one we bury gets a unique and 'special' plant on top - my dog got a rose, our oldest cat got a natural tombstone with various precious rocks adorning the top of her grave, and my cat got a memorial plate with a pretty spectacular pumpkin plant growing across the top.
What I'm saying is - give her the best burial you can, it really makes you feel better and if it's somewhere where you can see it, it can really make you feel happy whenever you look out over them :)
My dog died today too

Okay, you stupid fuck. We didn't let her "run around on other peoples property rudely or wherever it wants" and we did "[take] her to the vet ASAP," as soon as we'd figured out what happened.
Also, just read what I wrote in the OP before you take a shit on my commitment to my dog, you dumbshit.

No reason to get mad. You said she ran around on other peoples properties so far away that you still don't even know where the grapes were and the owner is irresponsible because a responsible owner wouldn't let their dog run around wherever asking for trouble, then wait until next morning to take action. The death is the fault of the ignorance and irresponsibility of the owner.
Don't get another pet until you know how to responsibly take care of one.

You don't need to be an asshole about it.

I'm not trying to be. I said I was sad for his loss and I truly am. I'm simply pointing out the ignorance and irresponsible actions which lead to this event, not because someone didn't let her in.

If he lives out in the country then it would be quite common for a pet to be allowed to wander. And not knowing about grapes harming dogs isn't a surprise, I don't know anyone with a dog who knows that grapes can harm their pet.

I have every reason to be mad, you ignorant, apparently illiterate, fuck.
I never said she ran around on other properties.
In fact, I said she didn't.
I specified that this was not a normal occurrence.
You cannot read.
IF you were correct in your assumptions, there would be truth to what you said. But you aren't.
Oh well, I guess it's your right to blatantly ignore the truth.
And at least I'm not this fat fuck who never went to college and works as a rent-a-cop and watches cartoons more than he reads.

Quite common does not correct the wrongness of letting a dog run unleashed in the wild. As I said, responsible pet owners know what is poisonous to their pet(s). Just because many people don't know that grapes are poisonous to dogs does not remove the ignorance involved. Simply don't be ignorant and not be one of those people who have a pet yet don't know how to properly take care of it.

You stated the grapes were not on your property, so unless the dog could bend the laws of physics, I'm pretty sure that counts as not your property.

I'm not backed into a corner, there are just so many things wrong with you I can't do it and I'm so angry I'm about to cry, and I think that's all you wanted. I hope you're happy.

All you do is throw insults. Please post when you can do it maturely. And again, I'm sorry for your loss.
