Its the light leaving a physical impression your retinas.
maybe you accidentally cut a hole in your eye lid
I know the sensation you are describing.

Its so hard to explain. And these "scientists".... PShhh
Yeah. Do you have the image almost "ingrained" into your eyes?
I get this aswell, I see fading outlines of what was in my view when I close my eyes.
I get this a lot, From what I can gather its pretty much just your memory; when you close your eyes you have a mental image of everything you just seen including to your side (Within your field of vision)
Next time it happens and you have a vivid image of your surroundings spin around a few times then go make coffee
...with your eyes still closed!
If you don't get third degree burns congratulations ! Your a gipsy.

That's what I am trying to say.
Is it because you know your house so much, it's as if you don't need eyes to navigate or do you have superpowers?
What is this, Dr. of Psychology facepunch or something?
But seriously, grow some nuts. Clearly you know that isn't possible. If it gets worse see a psychologist.
It's just a perk of your brain. Not a big deal. Everyone's brain is different.
I wan't a magic power :saddowns:

I love Spongebob.
The world is against you, pump up some bullets.
I want to be able to see without having my eyes open!
Isn't this mostly you just remembering what you just saw like a second ago?
You may be dreaming. Go on the mega dream thread. That will be informative.
I guess you just remember your environment well. Try walking around.
you have aids
It's VERY normal. The image for a second you see is your photographic memory. You remember what you saw before you close your eyes. When the image fades, you "forget" it. It's actually not normal if you don't see it.
That's why people can walk around familiar environments with eyes closed or at night. You simply know where stuff are and can re-create the image.
Yes, this is a rather useless thread. But, i fear as if i may be going crazy or just special. Whenever i try to close my eyes, i feel as if i still see what was in front of me more than a mere second ago. The environments don't change, but it so surreal.
It's almost as if i am awake but dreaming, and after i open my eyes, i feel as if i don't know if time has passed or not. FacePunch, am i going crazy =/
Yeah, it's called short term memory..
Eyelid cancer.
Your mind automatically creates a transition image when your eyelids shut for a brief period of time.
You are so damn different and unique, quick tell everyone about this and the bitches will be all over you.
Sometimes I see with my eyes closed. I see the inside of my eyelids.

Actually it happens to me anywhere I am.
headrush maybee??? or ur hallucinagenic
I remember reading about this.
However I don't remember the details or the name of it.
Just know, it's your mind being awesome.
This happens to me when I'm waking up sometimes. I'll open my eyes and close them again but I'll still see everything around me, even if I look around with my eyes closed. But that's because in reality I'm still asleep, dreaming about myself waking up and seeing with my eyes closed. Things like that are pretty common. I find it's the best sleep state ever because then I since I know I'm dreaming I can take over and do anything I want in the dream. That is until my alarm clock goes off 2 minutes later.
