My entire family makes moonshine. My grandpa used to bribe the local police when he was still in business. He had one of the largest moonshine operations in Southern Virginia which spanned across several counties and bled into North Carolina. My great-great-uncle used to be the family distributor. He owned a speakeasy/secret liquor store in New York City. What they couldn't sell in VA, they would send to him in NY. You can't get away with shit like that today but business down here is still thriving and moonshine is everywhere.
Not many people are motivated enough to learn to make moonshine though, whereas you can simply grow cannabis. It's less easy to control cannabis but you can't really say it's too easy to control alcohol.
yea it's easy to grow some weed, but to grow some good good you need to be a vet. it's not a bad thing that it's easy to grow. Shit the clubs will buy off you if you grew good weed, i'm sure if it's ever legal a system like that might be in place where growers just bring in their extra crop to sell at some sort of weed shop.

It's not easy at all to make decent moonshine either. It will make you drunk as shit but it won't be pleasing to taste. Same goes for weed. You can still get high off shitty weed but you will need more weed and it won't be nearly as pleasant.
