Secondly, people are "trolling" you because of your bias. You've been known to worship Hyundai and as a result people are bringing the inevitable conversation to you rather than you to them. I don't doubt for a second that if that situation you mentioned were to come up, you would do what you did. This is probably because your bias goes in the order: Hyundai > Japanese and Korean cars > American cars.

I'm gonna concede regarding the reliability for the 2006 malibu. based on what I read, it does seem to be average in terms of reliability, which surprised me because chevy isn't known for that. I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day. hopefully the car holds up considering that the maintenance wasn't kept up with

It was only 2003 and beyond where their quality standards really showed up, and I must agree, this model year, they are putting out an excellent line-up of cars. However, you are making ridiculous blanket statements against a brand for seemingly no reason. Both Hyundai and GM have drastically increased their quality standards for reliability in the past few years. Your Malibu should be fine, My dad picked me up a 1970 Chevy that had been sitting for 5 years... it still ran! And drives fine apart from some iffy brakes.
