• Can the cops do this?

I was bowling at work with a few friends after airsofting and had this chick come up to us and ask our names. Instantly we all gave fake names including myself (I called myself Houston :v:) and then she asked us where she could score some weed. I took a look around and saw two guys a few lanes down, one was watching with the worst case of cop hair ever and the other dude was looking around. We told them we didn't have a clue and should probably ask the hipsters a few lanes to our other side. She ended up going back to her cop boss and told him what happened and he knew she fucked up big time. It's like they don't even try half the time. Wost liars ever.
this unless you are hired by a federally licensed office, detaining a person against their will is illegal
Even police can't detain you unless they have reason to suspect something. Always ask "Are you detaining me?" if you don't want to talk to them. If they say no, you are free to leave. Majority of times, they will say no.
private investigators
Private investigators aren't cops
I expected this to be a video of a policeman doing a backflip.
They probably can. Did you DO have something in your packs? Then you really are in no position to complain. Edit: If they were private investigators they have no real authority. They might just were some blokes fucking with you.
Yeah, you were on private property.
Cops are bastards
I've met plenty of nice officers, not all police are "fascist pigs".
well OP, your first mistake was being fazed by it. Around where I live most kids will just laugh off a couple of coppers or call them "cunts" or something. In most situations cops will do shit all in a first incident. Best thing is community support officers, or "The plastic policemen", useless shitdicks with less power than the kids they're talking to. [editline]09:47PM[/editline]
Does that shit seriously still go on in Ireland? Just start the stupid war up again and end this once and for all
do you live under a rock? It's never stopped, they got rid of the black and tans (thank fuck may I add) but there are still a shit-tonne of disagreements, like the orange walks and everything else.
There are so many better things you could have said. "You don't need to see my identification."
man fuck the private investigators.
You need an ID over here all the time. To me, it seems like a no brainer, how does the cop know you aren't lying to him? It's proof of your identity, WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. I'm sorry but the "hurr cops lets bash for every law being there for a reason" mentality is a bit annoying. However what you ran into seems a bit weird, and it seems you sadly ran into one of those assholes, I've had my share of them, and it just seems they want to piss you off so they have a reason to do something with you, maybe you'll have better luck next time, atleast you know where not to go to avoid people like him.
Should have fought them Mortal Kombat style.
Cops are corrupted.
but cops are power hogs so yeah.
That's a bit of a generalization. Not all cops are assholes. People just don't talk about "Had this really polite police officer today". People only bitch and moan when they get an asshole cop, which gives them all a bad rap. Then you have a ton of people with this "Well all cops are douchebags" attitude, and then people wonder why so many cops are assholes. I would be too if everyone i ran into in my day automatically assumed i was a massive dick intent on finding any opportunity to pepper spray women and children while pistol whipping the elderly. Also, OP, technically you were breaking the law, but odds are good the guys were just trying to get you to leave. Most businesses aren't fans of kids or adults hanging around their property. Also, it's a good idea to have ID on your just in case.
and to the people saying they were loitering, where did he say he was just throwing the trash on the ground?
:cawg:
They're cops. They do whatever the hell they want. Asking for their badges just makes them angry. Sort of related, i was at a gig a few months back, and the bouncer/security guy took me outside to search me. I asked him if i could see some ID, and on what grounds he was searching me. Then when he refused to do either i told him he had no legal right to search me until he did either, and he threw me out the venue. Fucking Pigs.

They can search you if you consent. You consent to private search when you go into the venue, thats why when you didn't consent to the search, he threw you out.
I was outside with a friend, we were sitting in a parking lot of this building with our food. Suddenly private investigators came up to us and started asking questions, if we're from the building which the parking lot belong to. Then they asked for our ID and we didn't have any, and he said he could arrest us on those grounds? All we were doing was sitting down and eating food. Then he started yelling at us as we tried to leave, he asked what's inside our bags? Aren't they supposed to identify themselves, even if they're private investigators?
I recommend you give this video a watch:
Next time carry a pocket constitution with you. Cops these days don't know how to handle that kind of thing.

I mean, in the last walk, the majority of protesters and rioters where like 15 year olds, and how can they understand why they are protesting?
yes i can, got a problem?
aren't that one of those guns witch shoot teargas
Looks like a rubber grenade launcher. It shoots grenades made out of rubber that burst into non-deadly rubber shrapnel.

Wow, the more you know I suppose.
