[QUOTE=Wulfram;43532013]im looking for opinions on optics for my mp5k. I'd be perfectly fine leaving it bare, but im open for suggestions. I've been thinking about getting a low mount for my t-1 or like a micro reflex style optic.
thoughts?

Mount a NPSU on it
So I have held a we 5.1, the trigger feels odd. I am not used to the very short horizontal travel. do you guys generally prefer a pivoting trigger or a horizontal traveling trigger?

C-More. The mP5/G3 one is too low IMO, and I heard the Zeiss replica sucks
I personally think putting an optic on a gun without a stock that's designed to be as compact as possible is ridiculous. Hell, when I removed the rear sight on one of mine to make it fit underbarrel on a shotgun, I didn't even reattach the sight for months afterwards because it simply wasn't needed.
I live in California, but I'm gonna be moving in 1-2 years. Should I just go ahead and register an AR-15 or buy an 80% lower and build it?

But I have the stock on it and to me its more an smg/pdw than a machine pistol.

Well if you're using the stock you're not using an MP5K, which changes the whole thing.
mp5k pdw* then

unless you have a drill press the 80 is going to be a pain and not having a serial number isnt worth the effort you would save. I estimated my Spike tac lower to cost me $200 with the recent sales everyone had and buying everything as parts. but thats just the lower and furniture, the upper is the expensive part.

for IPSC raceguns I prefer the horizontal flat triggers and a very short travel distance, otherwise a pivoting trigger is fine.
question of my own here, cleaning and fixing a friend's KJW p229 and the trigger tends to get stuck 3/4 of the way resetting while dry firing, dont have a propane adapter to test with but I assume that it resets when fired because it does so when I manually work the slide.
is there anything in particular that would cause this? both his p229 and my KWA USP do this, the trigger is a bit mushy and it doesnt completely reset. they have both been lubed thoroughly.

H&K lied to me...

Who makes the best reel steal ARs?

My KJW M9 had that issue. For me, replacing the trigger spring fixed it.

in what respect?
Anyone have experience with international mail here. I bought a jacket from some guy like three weeks ago. He said he'd ship with EMS. Tracking number still doesn't register with them, but it does with USPS for some reason. It's been stuck in "MOSKVA PCI-8 EMS RUSSIAN FEDERATION" for 13 days with the status "Origin post is preparing shipment." Any ideas as to what's going on?

Russian Post takes forever, and it doesn't update often. Expect at least a 1 month wait.
Uggghhh. Well, thanks for letting me know. Now to buckle down and wait.

My uncle just sold me on getting some kind of Colt. Good idea?
I'm gonna be pretty honest with you, they're all pretty much the same except for the super high end like Noveske, Vltor, etc. and the super low end like DPMS. Colt is kinda upper mid-range.
In most cases you're better off building an AR from parts
everyone will say something different because they have their favorites.
colt is good. I prefer spiketac LMT BCM and rainier arms.
What's a good online store in case my local shop doesn't have the one I want?
If you are determined to buy a complete rifle, Colt is not a bad choice, albeit a little on the expensive side. BCM and Del-Ton are also really good choices and are a little more budget friendly as far as ARs go

Most AR stuff can be ordered direct from the manufacturer nowadays
How much would I be hated for using a RPK mag in a ak-74m. the local store has em for ~8 bucks and are out of regular mags.

Literally nothing wrong with that especially considering real Spetsnaz operators use those and RPK drum mags in their AKs.
how big are they relative to regular mags, how big would the pouch for them have to be?
a solid 3in longer
I think it would fit in the pouches I have.
I got the Cybergun Colt M4A1 with full metal internals. I'd like to upgrade the fps, would replacing the spring be enough? Or do I need to replace more parts because of the stronger spring? Ty in advance.

Really depends on how much of a stronger spring you intend on putting into it, the stock motor could handle it relatively well or it could handle it poorly. Try it out with just the spring and if the motor sounds pained, swap it out with a motor like an AMP High torque; that's what I generally throw into my ARs.

Just a slightly stronger one, thanks.
If its the CYMA one then you don't want a stronger spring because it probably already shoots a bazillion fps anyway
