TA55 (sans ridiculous sunshade) or TA32 for my SR25? I'm going for a hybrid battle rifle/DMR vibe
Not sure which would really be the better fit, but I think TA55's are badass as fuck.
Pics for reference TA55 TA32 [editline]19th February 2014[/editline] This scope apparently has a working fiber optic, is this legit or is it a piece of junk? So I've acquired a CA A2 upper and CYMA Colt lower. Will I have to do filing/Dremeling on my KWA GB to make it fit?
http://www.evike.com/products/46254/ is there any website that has this item in stock? I can't find it anywhere.

Really friendly guys. Just don't ask Gabe/Fernando if they're Aussies, it'll frustrate 'em. They're South African.

Anyone know of anywhere that sells the oldschool 3-prong M16 flashhiders cheaper than $20? Either direction thread is fine unless anyone knows what thread G&P barrels usually have.
Anyone know of anywhere that sells the oldschool 3-prong M16 flashhiders cheaper than $20? Either direction thread is fine unless anyone knows what thread G&P barrels usually have.
G&P is CW/+14mm
If you have an M4A1, and you remove rear sight/carrying handle then replace it with a red dot sight, do you keep the front sight?
You could get a gas block with a built-in folding front sight and a get foldable rear sight if you still want ironsights, or you could just replace the front sight with a gas block. I've seen people just leave the front sights on, though.
a lot of sights cowitness with the elevation of the front sight post so its not necessary to remove the front sight/gas block unless you dont like it aesthetically or the sight is really low enough that it does get in the way
Question for the Ruskie kit guys (again because anything Russian is a mysterious enigma to me): Would one ever see an SVD in use with a Gorka suit?
Question for the Ruskie kit guys (again because anything Russian is a mysterious enigma to me): Would one ever see an SVD in use with a Gorka suit?
Literally the first result on Google image search for "Gorka Suit" is a guy holding an SVD while wearing what I assume to be a Gorka Suit. so I would say so.
Those dudes are American though, no? [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] The post it's from talks about them using the suits in an SVD shooting class in the US. I mean would legit Specnaz guys use Gorkas with SVDs? [editline]21st February 2014[/editline] Thinking about maybe doing a Ruskie impression after I finish my MARSOC one.

Awesome. So in the coming months begins Zao's attempt at a Russian kit.
So, I'm planning on ordering the G&P XM177E2, but I have no batteries wired to deans. Would I have any problems using this adapter http://www.evike.com/products/29330/ with my Tamiya wired LiPos? I'm not sure if it would take up too much space in the buffer tube, or if there tends to be problems using adapters like these.
Yeah, you're increasing resistance due to increased connections. This wouldn't be as much of a problem if it was deans to xt60 or something but tamiya has a tendency to do things like melt, short, or pull apart, so I'd just get your gun rewired.
Why not just rewire the batteries instead?
Why not just rewire the batteries instead?
Because all his other guns are mini tamiya.
why not just replace the deans connector on the XM177 with a tamiya connector i would've thought that would be the obvious soloution to the problem
why not just replace the deans connector on the XM177 with a tamiya connector i would've thought that would be the obvious soloution to the problem
This is what I'll have to do. Should I buy an adapter and clip the wires before the connector and solder the end with the tamiya connector on in place of the deans? Or is there a better way?
Just buy a set of tamiya connectors, they sell them separate. Or at least they do over here but i see no reason why they wouldn't in the US.

Edit: Also, you just clip the deans connector off and put the pins on the wires and slide them into the connector.
wire everything to deans
wire everything to deans
I did this and i have no regrets. It was worth the investment of like $12 in deans connectors.
I'm considering getting the G&P Model 607 Car-15 instead, as no rewiring would be involved. And, I have seen people with XM177E2's, but never anyone with a 607. Buuuut, the XM177 fits a wider variety of loadouts, and is notably prettier. (and cheaper) I just don't want to have to convert either my gun or the rest of my arsenal to accept my batteries.
Putting a new connector on is about a five second soldering job and isn't anything worth worrying about, i'm sure you know somebody who'd be able to help you with it. Just buy the gun you think looks good and that you want to use.
