Yeah, and then it would've been propably just as good as having no inserts whatsoever.
It's called having a good balance. Jesus
What's the best brand of mag for a WOC? I've tried WA (love them, but $120 is too much to buy more of them), G&P (like them, leaks a lot though), and GHK (literally had to slam them full force into the gun - easier to put the mag in the magwell and hit it on a wall with both hands than to push it in). Anyone got experience with other brands?
ProWin is good
Oh really? I'd been looking at them for awhile. Guess I'll buy one for my next mag. I'm just on the hunt for one good (read: reliable) enough to buy more of to fill out my PC.
ProWin are good, but honestly not as good as the Gen 2 GHK ones once you get them working. You will need to take 0.5-1mm off your magwell but they're well built magazines. Been using them for a couple of months now. One can buy them from Samoon for ~$50.
Yeah, I figure I'd need to sand the magwell a lot for those. I was fucking piledriving my old ones in.
Same here, to be frank. I think they're made with the Prime/Inokatsu lowers in mind. Sucks :( I actually did a shitty written review over at Gasguns. TL;DR: The release valve protrudes too much, they jam a bit (which I fixed, actually) and they're a very tight fit indeed. Otherwise, gas consumption was pretty good, and they're the heaviest stanag I've ever used for airsoft - even the mag lip (with the exception of the feed lip) is made of a very thick metal.
That was a good review, the new ones look a lot nicer than the old ones too.
So I finally figured out what was wrong with my gun. It was the feeding tube, when the bb's feed up they don't line up with the barrel. Is there anything I can do about this?
Anyone know of a good mount for an M2 that'll raise it off the rail a little more? I wear a face mask so it makes it a bit easier to have it raised. Something like this: Not fussed about it being quick release or anything.
So you just posted an image of what you want? I'm not sure what you're asking, it sounds like you know what you want already.
Well that's actually off some picture on WGC of a discontinued optic and a random mount next to it. I've tried looking for 'gooseneck'/cantilever mounts for 30mm but not turned up anything that raises it sufficiently. Bit of a shot in the dark, but perhaps one of you lot has had a similar issue *shrugs*. I suppose one could always go with a simple rail raiser, but those things are ugly as hell.
ebay'd cantilever mount: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sport-Integrated-30mm-Scope-Ring-1inch-1-Insert-Weaver-Cantilever-Mount-Aimpoint-/151088935107?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item232d9a30c3
i did also : http://www.ebay.com/itm/JESUS-JEEZ-IT-Sticky-Notes-GIFT-SET-post-its-/141219984438?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20e15df436
Bought both 10/10 thread. In all sincerity though, I think I'll just look myself. The issue is a little troublesome to describe; I've used a counterlever one just like that but it doesn't raise the optic enough - thanks anyway :)

Quite possibly. Edit: Is this an issue that only I seem to have then?
So I've recently discovered the Cerakote color know as Patriot Brown and I think it looks sexy as fuck: I'd love to make my gun look like this, but I don't want to throw down for a metal body and rails and then have to buy a $100 can of the official Patriot Brown Cerakote. Do you guys think it would be possible to get the shiny deep brown effect with a normal krylon paint sprayed on a plastic body and rails? Or would it be better for me to save up for a metal body and rails and then do it with some kind of specialized paint? Thoughts?

You can get a JG metal body for $68 if trademarks don't matter to you. But then you're looking at ~$100 for the MK18 rail and ~$150 for a SpecterDR replica. You could probably get close to that color with a lighter brown and satin clearcoat. I know the Krylon camo brown is too dark for that. [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] Actually I'm thinking of rustoleum camo brown, krylon my not be too dark.

I finally have an on campus job so I'm gonna have a bit of expendable income in the future so hopefully I'll find room for this
Krylon brown is also darker. [editline]17th March 2014[/editline] Honestly I'd wait a few months and make sure you still want it this badly, and by that time you can save up enough to have it properly Cerakoted.

It'll be nice to have a dream gun to seek after for a while.
Question: I'm relatively new in terms of gun searching and I'm having trouble deciding on an AK-47, I was hoping to find one that shot below 400 so it's usable at Gamepod and that has real wood. Could anyone give me some pointers? There are so many AK's I have no idea where to begin, and I'd hate to pick up something that would break within a week of using it.
don't have money -> cyma 040/045/048/050, dboys S/WS series have money -> LCT
Is ehobbyasia supposed to take this long? It's been a month soon and it's still on "process shipment"

Not just the 048*)There is an excellent review from Felix the Cat, another member on here, that can be found in the mega thread. Ill toss in my experience with mine real quick for you here though. First off there are two things that need to be addressed instantly. Mine shot around 405 so it'll need a new spring (yeah, yeah. I know you said below 400 but to my knowledge most clone AKs are going to be shooting up there) you could probably get somebody to do the spring swap for you. I'm not sure who plays up at gamepod here but most facepunchers in real life are p. awesome people and would most likely be more than happy to help you swap springs. Second, the wood color is atrocious so you'll just need to sand it down and restain it with stain of your choice. (Again. Check out mega thread to find the review done by Felix. He further discusses what I have already said so far) The gun itself is excellent especially for what you pay (gonna be around $160+). It's sturdy, has great range, and is very reliable. When I did my sayaret matkal kit I used the Cm048 and sometimes would get rather "aquatic" with it. Was priceless seeing the look on my teammates team when I emerge next to him soaking wet and completely covered in mud with my gun to match. I know another player on here, Venom, had an Echo 1 AK (not sure the model, but the echo1s are rebrands of the CYMA) and played some OP where his gun was exposed to more abuse in a few days than most airsoft guns have/will be exposed to during their entire time of use. *there are some CYMA AK models that are good to go and some that most users on here would touch with a 10' pole. Hopefully a more knowledgeable member on here could provide you a list of the models that are good to go and the ones to avoid. Also, take everything I said on a grain of salt. I'm tired and not the most knowledgable on anything that doesn't go boom. [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] Fuck. I didn't notice the other post above giving the good models. Also, thank you for actually asking in the questions thread and not starting a whole new thread just to ask a question.

They're reliable They don't need much attention They're built like bricks(the metal ones at least) They're heavy They hit really hard And they spray like no tomorrow I have a CM047D that I've owned since I was 14 and it still performs like it did the day I got it.
Lets also not forget my Cyma AK that I left outside that ended up submerged in water and mud and still works.
