What's a good FAST Helmet Replica? I don't want to spend more than like $80 on one if I can avoid it.
1. Pyramex mirrored safety goggles, tan shemagh, custom "1/3 mesh", ZTac Sordin headset.
2. ORC Industries PCU, 100% Eagle Industries RRV setup, dummy radio for storing all sorts of useful shit like skittles, Camelbak Ambush hydro, Magpul MS3 sling, low-pitched nut protector and key holder with attached dump pouch.
3. Woodland pants, Safariland 6004, KWA M9 PTP, Eagle Industries drop leg panel.
4. Merrell MOABs.

That's a really nice low-cost kit, actually. He definitely looks the part but all together that's hella cheap to look like it does.

I'd look for a well-used Dragon Red Premium one.

Huh, looks like they've been discontinued. Not on their website: www.altaindustries.com/products/knee-protection
Can't find them anywhere else:

Guess I'll give integrated kneepads a try in the future.
do it. you will never look back.
I have an official question. Can I get a dummy's guide to changing a spring on a CYMA AK? I gotta downgrade to about tree fiddy.

just remembered i have two extra pairs of those kneepads, sending you a fb message
So is it true that every .5 gram of a bb lowers FPS by 40?
The gun Im getting shoots 435 with .20s so if I could just be fine for field play at just under 400 with .25s that'd be nice, if not Ill have to downgrade the spring.
You have to change the spring or you're contributing to a loss of integrity in the sport. Cheating the chrono is just as bad as not calling hits and starting fights.
Ah, yeah after doing a bit more research it is kind of a dick move. I'll keep to plinking with it while its stock.
What spring should I get for an FPS of around 350 with .20s? Recommended brands?
Or actually would compressing the stock spring (half firing and leaving it) be safe?
If it is a brand new gun, compressing the spring may help some. You can also snip off one or two coils to lower the fps.
My Cyma 040D came in the mail today and I must say I'm quite fond of it just from looking and holding it alone.
I went to go test fire and I swear that the BB's are firing to the right of where I'm directly aiming. It's dark right now, but tomorrow I'll probably host up a picture showing exactly what I mean.
Do you guys have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Sight? Hop-up? Internal Gearbox? I've seen some reviews stating that the front sight might come in crooked, explaining the accuracy issues, and unfortunately I don't have time today, but I plan on cleaning out the barrel just to make sure it isn't just gunk hampering the flight path.
Often times that's a result of the hopup bucking being slightly turned to the side, or the hopup spacer being of low quality. Without spending any cash you can simply disassemble the gun and twist the barrel/bucking to the correct position, but as with any airsoft gun the first thing you should probably replace is the hopup bucking and spacer.
Barrel cleaning is also good, but normally doesn't solve many problems besides straight up jams.
Just shoot it in the day tomorrow and it should be pretty clear how we can help you solve it.
Is "Socom Gear" a rebrand company or a manufacturer? And if they are rebranders, are their M9's WE's?
I think they rebrand VFC/G&G for rifles and WE/KWC for pistols
they're part of the echodone/madbull consortium

Noveske/DD M4s = VFC
DD MFR M4s = WE
PWS Line = G&G
Les Baer 1911 = KJW
Other pistols = WE
I have a simple question.
What headwear could I wear that would go with my loadout, I don't want to wear any sort of helmet.
My loadout is
-green ess goggles
-tan brass guard
-chicom
-m81 pants
-tan boots
pasgt or mich or some sort of full helmet
but, i said that i prefer something that isnt a helmet :v:
I've always worn a trucker hat. First an S9 Downhill Division hat, and now an NRA hat. Fabric at the front keeps sweat from your eyes, mesh everywhere else ventilates, and the bill keeps goggles from sliding down between games. Also the fabric is usually padded, so forehead hits are much easier to take.
Does anybody know how to adjust a chicom rig? It has these weird things that fold into themselves and I don't know how it works.

Undo the knot and watch how you do it, pull strap tighter or looser, tie the knot back that way you previously undid it.
I adjusted mine a few days ago for the first time, I really couldn't explain how the knots are tied now, though.
I know nothing about chicoms, but from what I can see it seems to be this:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ONMASU2.png[/t]
so you push one end into the knot then keep pushing the extra material until you extend the other end.

Boonie get
I'd get smaller goggles and a shooting cap or do what ninja said.
Is an AK selector switch usually loose in the topmost (safe) position? It is really stiff and clicky on auto and semi but really loose on safe. It is tightened as far as it will go but it still is loose. It is not a problem but just wondering.
So to those that run goggles+mesh, how do you do it? I have a full mesh and a half mesh that are the most uncomfortable things ever. I can only run with a helmet or I wont get full seal because the mesh and the goggles keep moving away from each other (havent trimmed/fitted either mesh lowers yet). How can I run a boonie/toque/no helmet. I can butcher the full mesh because I hate that intolerable piece of shit. Should I cut all of it away, leaving just the nose/mouth middle portion, and glue it to the goggles? Or should trimming fix my issues? Also, my revison goggles fog like cray cray even with hockey defog. I will try Rain-X but do you guys have any better soulotions? Edit: I am very very sick right now so please dont grammar nazi me :).
I've found that just using those mesh goggles fixes all my problems. Honestly, I've just been running those and leaving my ESS goggles up on my helmet. I've been planning to just wear a balaclava over the lover half of my face since with the mesh goggles I don't have fog concerns.
Face/eye protection in airsoft is literally the most imperfect science ever.
[editline]31st March 2014[/editline]
like I'm pretty sure nuclear physics is easier
i've just been running sawfly's
but for full-seal/face-pro i used to run desert locusts' with the foam cut out + de-fog, and some regular lower mesh thing, worked alright for me, even with my PASGT
[editline]31st March 2014[/editline]
this is what i usually run for headgear:

but i used to run full face-pro stuff too:
