The Official Questions Thread Version: "Charlies in the trees, what do I need to get rid of them?"

So I got my M4 handguard finally, and it's all good and dandy, but upon taking apart my gun to get to the hop up my charging handle fell off and the spring that holds it fell off as well. what can I do to fix this short of throwing the gun because FUCKING A I'M GOING TO MURDER SOMETHING
Posted to IFAP FB thinking it would be responded to faster, guess not. This guy is accepting trades for a stock TM MP5 wired to deans + 2 hicaps. The FPS might be hinting at a problem he's not admitting, how does this sound?

I might just be oblivious to TMs but I thought 280-300 was the norm for TM?
280 w/ .20's isn't unheard of in stock TM's
Huh I knew TMs shot lower, didn't expect that much though. I'm used to shooting mid-high 300s so I don't know how I feel about this.
fps makes very little difference to a certain extent
fps makes very little difference to a certain extent
Yeah I understand hopup/range/accuracy is much more important. I'm just concerned that with that low FPS the bb travel would be slow enough to be easily dodged and at further ranges would be harder to feel when going that slow. Especially if it's shooting 280 with .20 and I use .25s.
It might've been 280 w/ .25s haha
Seems legit.

Anyone here know of good Airsoft meets in Arizona?
Often times that's a result of the hopup bucking being slightly turned to the side, or the hopup spacer being of low quality. Without spending any cash you can simply disassemble the gun and twist the barrel/bucking to the correct position, but as with any airsoft gun the first thing you should probably replace is the hopup bucking and spacer.
Barrel cleaning is also good, but normally doesn't solve many problems besides straight up jams.
Just shoot it in the day tomorrow and it should be pretty clear how we can help you solve it.
It seems you are mostly correct, I'l see if I can get a picture uploaded of the exact location of the shots if it matters, but essentially the shots are going in the top right most area, causing me to fire near the bottom left to hit dead center on an average target.
I've never opened up an airsoft gun to work on it and I can say first hand I'm probably not the best when it comes down to the mindset needed to not break the dang thing just by taking it apart. Should I try anyways? Or See if I can send it in to have it get a tune up? I can see the benefits and downsides of both cases, but what is your experience in the matter?
What kind of gun is it? for most guns the hopup is pretty easy to get to, though on some it can be a real pain *cough*mp5k*cough*

This is less than a 5 second fix once you disassemble the gun, absolutely do it yourself. Just look up a disassembly video, follow it, and then simply alight the barrel properly. Most importantly, you'll learn more about how to actually work on your own stuff.
Anyone know how the quality is of the JG Aug A4? Better or worse than the Cybergun Colt M4A1? I know there are G&G's in that price range but I got a Cybergun M4A1 and can possibly trade it for a JG Aug A4.

Plus an AUG is way cooler than a generic M4.
Gearbros of FP, are there any clones of the AAC M42000 available literally anywhere? I would buy a PTS one if they ever surface anywhere but I'd feel too guilty roughing it up.

found one :)

Cybergun m4s are 80% pot metal guns made by cyma
not good

My m4 is a cyma and the body was actually really sturdy and the only reason it broke was because I kept throwing it on the ground outside at a game. But if you have the money, definately go for something better like a g&p or vfc. And my cyma m4 uses a mag catch that is bigger than normal and it broke so
Everytime I buy one it's a small kind and my mags like to fall out in the middle of me shooting. And the gearbox shell is kinda brittle. So yeah, if you can, get something better.
Are hard knuckled gloves worth it? Thinking of getting a pair of these. I don't have any gloves for airsofting ATM, and I'm looking into an overhaul of my gear before it gets warm enough to play here.
Also, Green Gas/Propane vs. CO2? I'm currently using a green gas as a secondary, and it does about 50 rounds before it needs a reload. Is CO2 any better, in reload times or in how many it can fire?

no not really
they're expensive as FUK conderp, i didn't like mine very much when i had them and put the foam inserts in instead of the knuckles
you can get a pair of real steel (as in spetsnaz use) hatch LR25s for $25 if you look, much better quality

I run mechanix. SOOOO GOOOOD, I find they are much better then hard knuckle.
If your Green Gas gun is getting 50 rounds before a reload, that's incredible and I'm really not sure why you're asking for more. My Green Gas guns have only ever gotten 20-30 max. Unless you're using a non blowback.
CO2 will get you more shots between refills, but it's going to shoot really hot most of the time and won't be allowed at a lot of fields. If you do go CO2 - again, don't know why you would at 50 shots per refill - look for a gun that doesn't shoot 9 billion FPS. Even if you don't play at a field, you'll regret having a gun that shoots so hard it injures people.
