Took the diode off. I really like the lumination but it looks so much better with the topcover on.
So the Well MB's aren't VSR compatible?

Also the AGM MP-001
your best bet for face pro is a brassguard since it probably provides the best protection out of your options and also doesnt affect your breathing or ventilation in that area.
Forgot to mention that the mesh masks don't work for my face sadly. I tried about 3 different ones and they just squeezed my cheeks too much to be comfortable for hours of play. Even tried stretching the mask and it didn't help much. Ended up with big grill patterns on my skin.
your best bet is to grow a manly viking beard
it will vanquish anything foolish enough to go near your face while you vanquish anyone foolish enough to fight on the same battlefield*
*vanquishing capabilities subject to personal status, including but not limited to age, gender, racial and national backgrounds, level of personal hygiene, and length of hair. assumation of a viking beard does not make you a viking, nor is it a free ticket to valhalla. all rights reserved.

no but seriously, anything that covers your mouth should work, though not as well as a brassguard obviously. Perhaps try a double-wrapped shemagh?

Try putting cloth or some other soft material on the part that contacts your cheekbones and nose, and anywhere else that is uncomfortable

You have to make a ballistic shield called "The TerrorShield"

Not 100%. You can get some VSR parts to work in it (not entirely sure which ones, I'd have to do a little digging), but others are off by millimeters.
I'm speaking specifically about the MP001 here, since I haven't really tinkered much with any of the other MP-series. It's probably safe to assume that at least a few of them have the same issue though.
[editline]17th April 2014[/editline]
If you're looking at getting one, definitely save the extra $30 and get a JG Bar-10 unless you plan on keeping it pretty much stock.

Was looking to get something like this, because I want a G Spec and really don't want orange. I know it'll take vsr trigger bits, but I've heard the cylinder is off. As long as i can make it run, and upgrade the barrel group some, I'll be happy. It should perform well enough like this. Its also MUCH MUCH cheaper than the JG G Spec. I just cannot bring myself to buy something with a tapered barrel.

Anyone? Internet searches aren't helping at all

Anybody have objections or input before I pull the trigger on this? Gonna put a 42mm NcSTAR scope on it, and getting a bipod from Kath.
You're gonna want to get a new trigger sear because it shits itself after like 200 rounds.
Also you might want to get some better upgrades before you start putting anything into the externals.
If you guys don't mind, then here I go
TL;DR for the lazy : AEG has a very low RoF, not a battery issue
My AEG has been trough an inactivity period, which lasted for about two months (in which I did not fire the weapon at all)
Upon picking it up again recently, I noticed that the rate of fire has definitely taken a strong hit (for the worse, obviously). Even with an 11.8v it is not as fast as it should be. I usually run a 7.4v LiPo, so go figure.
First thing I did was obviously test the rifle with different batteries. Tested it with a fully charged 7.4v and an 11.8v, which has helped me understand that it is not a battery issue
So here I am. I have absolutely no idea as to what it could be. Bad lubrification? Maybe rusted internals? I have no clue.
My AEG has not been exposed to water. I have kept it stored in an appropriate place. If anyone knows what it could be, I'd really appreciate you sharing your knowledge
Do you need to adjust your motor height? This happened with my AK but I lowered the motor and lo and behold, it shot a lot faster with the same batteries I used before.
Also you might want to get some better upgrades before you start putting anything into the externals.
Well it's a g spec clone without a suppressor, so that's why the can, adapter, and tightbore are there. Scope is an obvious need and is pretty budget. I'm not really putting a lot in to externals.
[editline]17th April 2014[/editline]
Okay, not gonna get something shitty. Found a good deal on a JG G Spec w/ scope. So recommended first upgrades? I'm of course going to do all of the diy compression stuff, and shim the barrel and all of those things.
has anyone here spray painted their pouches/vest?
I've got a tan rig that's too light for my liking, considering painting it OD but I dunno wtf that'd even look like

I have spray painted some old USMC issue molle crap. It works fine, the fabric took the paint well.

do you have pics by any chance? c:
This guy painted a khaki or coyote LBT rig some shade of something and looks pretty iffy. A light dusting probably wouldn't be as severe but frankly your mileage may vary.

My mode of operation on upgrading sniper rifles always goes like this.
TBB>Bucking>Trigger/Sear>Piston>Spring>Externals
The TBB and bucking will obviously help your accuracy and make the gun more competitive against AEGs out of the box, so I go for those first. Trigger/sear and piston are necessary to handle an increased rating spring, so they come next. Then do the spring last once the trigger/sear and piston are in place so your gun doesn't explode. Anything else you want to do should probably come after these.
I'd go for a pretty high power spring if I were you. I know the whole "FPS =/= range blah blah blah" bullshit, but at some level, FPS does equal range. No necessarily in a direct way, but a higher FPS means your gun will be able to fire a heavier round at a speed suitable for a sniper rifle, and thus you'll have less deflection of the round by wind etc, thus, more range.
In terms of which parts to get, see the list I posted earlier. Those parts are held in high regard by the sniper community. Obviously, there are a lot of parts that are better than those, but only marginally so, and those parts are often expensive and hard to get ahold of.
[editline]17th April 2014[/editline]
Georgetown's FPS limit of bolt action rifles is 550 FPS using .20's with a MED of 100 feet, so plan your spring rating around that.
I believe if you're shooting under 400, your MED is only 20 feet, so you could also go that route.

On the topic of painting fabric, in my experience, it usually goes on okay, but tends to wear off pretty quickly. Obviously that depends on the type of fabric you're painting. A less dense fabric will absorb the paint better and it'll stick longer, but with something more stiff and dense (like 1000D Cordura) it will wear pretty quick.

I have. The paint usually wears off high spots pretty quickly, but it can look kinda cool depending on the look you're going for.

Yes me. $2.50 per patch. Free US shipping, $2.50 international shipping. That is for the tan diamond patch. The others are no longer made.
